There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”
3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” - John 3:1-8 (NKJV)

@David Chinna Isn’t it understood that Nicodemus got born again? He became a follower of Jesus, didn’t he? Nicodemus understood that he needed a new birth in order to enter God’s kingdom.

I think the tradition about Nicodemus is true because only John Gospel mention Nicodemus in Chapter 3 and later after Crucification to collect the body of Christ... Gospel of John was written much later than other 3 gospels.. Nicodemus must been martyred sometime around 70AD and John wanted to honor him

To be born again, means to be baptized with water and spirit, plain and simple. The Bible and the early church fathers are unanimous anyone who thinks otherwise are polluted by novel teachings that happened over 1500 years after Jesus Christ.

Not True....Many people get baptized in church but most are not Born Again... Infant baptism is not biblical and does not make the infant Born Again

We must be born again! Then Jesus has baptized you with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit do not let you sin anymore!!! To become born again you have to repent and ask Jesus forgiveness for your sins or ask Jesus in your heart! A really born again Christian has no future sins!! He is perfect, righteous and the light of the world. Please study : 1 John 3, Romans 6:6, Romans 8, Gal 5, Eph 4 and Titus 2:14!

It’s not that we will never commit sins after being born again. After all, we’re still in our mortal bodies. But the difference between a true believer and one who has not truly experienced God’s transformation is this: a true believer in Jesus will hate the sins he used to love and enjoy. And when he commits sin, it breaks his heart so much that he mourns and cries out to God for forgiveness and is extra careful not to do it again.

@@DevotedGospel1 You didn’t study the verses / chapters I gave you. God’s seed cannot sin! 1 John 2: 3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. Then you are sinless

There is nothing in the verses you quoted that says a believer in Jesus cannot sin or that he becomes sinless and perfect. That being said, I am in no way saying that we should continue to sin. The point here is that we have been set free from the bondage of sin and so we are not to let sin reign in our mortal bodies. Sin shall not have dominion over us. Please read Romans chapter 6. But the Word of God does not say we become sinless when we get born again. That’s a stretch. It’s our attitude towards sin that changes. We no longer love and enjoy sin the way we used to when we were in darkness. That’s why when we sin, we are to confess our sins (1 John 1:9). You seem to be forgetting that John’s letters (1st, 2nd and 3rd John) were addressed to believers. If born again Christians will become sinless then why did John tell them to confess their sins and God will forgive them and cleanse them from all unrighteousness? We cannot just pick and choose verses and give our own interpretation. We always have to read them in context. By the way, let me ask you, can you honestly say that you have never committed any since you were born again? That you have already been perfected? Believes will only attain perfection when they receive their glorified bodies. Again, let me reiterate what Paul said that we should not continue sinning so that grace will abound. In other words, we should not consciously and deliberately sin against God.

@Jan Drost You did not answer my question; can you honestly say (with confidence) that you never sinned since the day you were born again. Are you now living in perfect righteousness? I would really love to hear your answer. 😊
