I’m a newbie and I love a dark and moody vibe. I tried this and it worked! I shot grapes first and then shot a chocolate crumb cake with powdered sugar. I was so happy…there was some cursing but it was worth it🤣. Thank you🙏🏾😁📸
It varies from scene to scene but with flash it stays somewhat consistent. ISO between 100-400 Aperture between f/4.0-f/11 and shutter pretty consistent at 1/125
position your lights off to the sides of the tank and one above and move your black background far back. Hope this helps! Might have to shoot through a black foam board with a hole in it so you can't see your camera on the front of the glass reflection!
I shoot all my video footage in HLG2 - looks great right out of the camera, also decently flat so you can color grade if you want! Slog is too much color grading for me and not flexible enough for run n gun video.
All respect to you Nick! I have a question. Someone is selling Sony 24-70 mark 2 for $1600. I have 24,35,50, 90 mm all prime g master without the 90 macro. Also I have 24-105 f4. My question is: are prime lenses so much better than zoom lenses for food photography. Should I stay with what I have or proceed with the 24-70 mark 2? What lenses do you usually prefer? I know that you like 90 mm but besides that what are your favorite lenses for food photography? Thank you very much in advance
I love primes. They are great. I have all the same ones as you plus the 90mm macro. I have a tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 for my Sony that I use quite a bit. You'll find that having a good zoom lens (like the 24-70 mark 2) will be a great addition to your camera bag.
@@NickAndersonCreative Thank you Nick I got the 24-70 and 90 mm lenses. I feel I have all the lenses needed for food photography. I got the strobe godox ad400 with the trigger. I have a big diffuser and also video light. Am I missing anything else? Could you recommend any white and black reflective boards to for the shadows? How do you transfer your already adjusted pictures from light room to instagram without loosing quality? Thank you very much
