To be fair, it is a world also filled with giant mechs, supernatural entities who can do anything from read your every move to having ALL your attacks just up and go around them, some random asshole with a katana and cybernetics does not seem all that crazy.
@@numeriofasulli1960 Cybernetics do not have to be build into you, considering his suit probably does augment his body it is safe to assume he at the very least has a neural uplink to it, similar to Mjolnir armor from Halo. also, Cybernetics kinda just sound cooler than a power suit.
Funk Man Tim Save for the the bit he lost at the end of the DLC, Sam is otherwise unaugmented. Probably has nanomachines (everyone does, though) linked to his exoskeleton, but otherwise it's all him to the point where his combat mask is actually an oxygen supplier so he doesn't pass out from the insane exertion he puts himself through. Sam is (virtually) just a man in a suit, which makes his ability to utterly demolish full-on cyborgs all the more impressive.
In the actual cutscene he gets sliced up by sam. Either he got rebuilt only to be sliced up again, or the moustache is added in addition to all the other cybernetics, which would explain why there's so many cops with the exact same moustache.
@@dias17se its the first sentence he said, they're using stock bodies that are mass produced for everyone instead of custom made for each, so they barely have variation from each other, like having the same mustache and face
I've seen a comparison where Sam has Dante's personality while having more of Vergil's fighting style while Raiden is a bit more serious like Vergil and fights kind of like Dante.
@@-xiii-13 Vergil: *Flicks Thumb in order to slightly open Yamato* Yamato: *Gets ejected off with the same force of a bullet being fired off of a gun* Vergil: "Not Powerful Enough"
The way this game can have silly moments like this, having raiden in a comically large sombrero, and the legendary meme that is senator armstrong, and still be one of if not the most badass game out there is a testament to how good this game is. sam, armstrong, and raiden never stop being badasses no matter how many goofy/silly moments the writers give them.
One of the coolest sword designs in the Metal Gear universe, who just woke up one morning and thought up to have a gun shell launch a pin forward at the Tsuba to launch it forward at inhuman speeds? That's that Kojima and Platinum design think.
Low key though people seem to *not* understand that sometimes small animation mistakes slip through that aren't worth putting time into fixing when you've got a schedule to meet
Besides, I don't think you are cut out for a sword in the first place You tend to twist your elbow to absorb the recoil That's more of a revolver technique
I wonder how many times he pulled that exact scenario? It feels like he's done that like a dozen times and this is the furthest anyone's ever flew from it. He scratched his chin like he was impressed.
Zach Brewer the cut scenes in the game are not rendered in real time, just high quality video. They also may have had different ideas for this one scene, so a very short cut of the two turning to each other can be serviceable to transition to the next part. That cut may have been part of a slightly differing idea of this cut scene. Even have it's own script ideas.
I assume his launcher technique is alluding to Iaido. That's a whole class of sword martial arts dedicated to quick drawing and attacking when your sword is sheathed.
Police with Raiden who has a reputation as a hack and slash psychopath: "You ain't shit!" Police with random Brazilian stranger: "JESUS CHRIST THIS MANS INSANE!!!!"
Well, he did shoot a cop in the face with a sword. I mean, I don't care what Jack did, he didn't load a gun with a sword and then shoot a guy with his sword gun.
Guy with a stick: hey what is this? The Brazillian dude: oh this is obviously not a katana with a fucking AR 15 body built in it so I can shoot the blade out like a bullet
It actually is a sheath designed to be similar to a gun with magazine and trigger to boot, shooting out the sword by a dinamite propelled drawing mechanism, which is as fucking metal as it sounds
There is a continuity error in this scene, right after sam shoots his sword, he turns to face the other officer... For about a few frames you can see the sword is magically back in his sheath.
People tend to forget that we latinos are just as multiethnic as Americans are. My grandfathers were green eyed and had light skin. I have a black cousin with green eyes and one of my aunts have slanted eyes.
Police officer 1: Hey, what the hell you think your doing buddy? 0:01 Sam Jetstream: Sigh... Police officer 1: Well whatta we have here? 🤨 0:11 Sam jetstream: Oh. This? *Shoots out katana* 0:17 Police officer 1: Ahhh! Police officer 2: 😮 Sam jetstream: Whoops... 0:23
Man i love these funny moments. Really wish this style of gameplay came back from a Japanese developer, where you can cut everything accurately in pieces.
I doubt that's even the suit. Remember that Sam has no cybernetics at all at this point in the story, just the armor, which means he's got to be absolutely shredded under that thing to pull the moves he does.
Just a reminder, the launch mechanism fires his sword with enough strength to send it and a cop flying, yet this mad lad can handle it perfectly and use it effectivly
