At the annual Night Under Fire 2019 at Summit Motorsports Park Bob Motz not only burned the backboard earlier in the day but in his second run he lit the whole thing up and it started to burn right before the fireworks started
Exactly my first thought too - A lot pointless is happening but not shit a thing going on. All show and no substance. Good thing they don't sell rear seat tickets, I guess...
I saw another video almost exactly like this a couple of years ago ... let me look through my history ... oh wait ... forget it ... this is the exact same video I watched in 2019.
Honestly, the wall on fire was so fucking dumb. People need to understand that wasting things just for artificial stuff is dumb as hell. I can't imagine how much pollution that thing makes.
I've been going to Norwalk for night under fire and other events for 20+ years and he has burnt it every year. Some years the fire dept waits longer to put it out. seeing it in person is a sight to see and feel. It ignites your senses, pun intended.
So he goes out to salem Ohio as well and the seats are right at the drag walls. So they are insanely close! When he blows that fireball everyone in the first 5 rows runs 😂
@@codystephens5939 lol because it feels like you're gonna get your face melted off. You can't explain to people how hot it is. Its exciting every time.
@@TheArcticFoxxo I remember hearing something about a cost involved as well to recoup sponsor costs if the logos were burned off early or something too
@@budgreen4x4 i remember hearing some bs. lol. They're sponsors, they shove logos, signs, stickers, merch, free pens, notepads, staplers, calendars... down your throats. don't ever get them, unless your ultimate goal is to have people sit on hot danger seats for 8.99 on weeknights once in their life because it's so boring they talk about stupid things like the cost of burnt sponsor logos.
Remember watching this way back before they even built the new stands. Spent so much time showing off melting the wall he ran out of fuel right at the end of the 1/4 lol
@donniesponseller2460 that's what I remember. Burning down the Budweiser billboard. I've helped Bob check the alignment after unloading it out of the trailer at Norwalk before.
@Jakob Because you assume because others want a moment of reprieve, they are ignoring reality? Because you assume people can't comprehend your fractured english, or your point. Because you want to be a debbie downer and rain on someone's parade and happiness. This is reality, it happened, and was real. Ignoring the world's problems for a couple minutes to enjoy something else that is real is by no means a fallacy. It in fact is exactly the kind of thing most people these days need to do, instead of being so hypersensitive to every little thing the media shits out to cause fear. All of this argument of yours as well as your first statment are attributed simply to the fact that you are sad, depressed, and hollow inside. Now as he stated go kick some rocks. Maybe it'll make ya feel better to do something simple.
@@GDBLUNT420 it isn't reality, it's a compressed version of someone's specific memory containing only two senses worth of data. It could be doctored in any way, or errant in it's recording. at best, this is mental masturbation. i wouldn't argue the recreational gains of pretending to be better than you are, helps build what you want to be or isolate what you don't. but don't kid yourself into thinking it's a good thing to ignore reality. it has it's benefits intermittently. it gets people killed. makes them walk into traffic instead of dying nobly. think before you take your version of the highroad.
W O W ! ! What a show! I remember seeing Bob back in the 90's best show EVER! Nothing like being there and smelling it and feeling the heat and the sound! An absolute American legend.
I've been going to these shows since 1980. Ya know what? Never gets boring. I get the same chills and thrills now as I did the first time. Do yourselves a favor and go see these and the top fuel funny cars. I guarantee, you'll never be the same.
You can explain every "mind boggling" detail about top fuel, watch it for years on TV.......but if you never seen it in person I'm saying that you have no clue what a 500ci engine can do...ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is the first time in a while I have been truly gobsmacked by watching a video. Once that since lit up and all that fire was moving, my jaw dropped. Amazing!
Grew up going to Norwalk, first seen Bob burn the wall down in the late 80's early 90's. He never fails to impress or entertain. When he hits the after burners it feels like someone is punching you in the chest! It's awesome to see on line but is is a million times better in real life!!!
Had the honor of sitting in the cab when I was 10yrs old. a memory I’ll always remember. My dad was holding me and Bob picked me up and let me sit in the cab
Salem ohio host a smaller less expensive night under fire every July. I think bob retired last year if I'm not mistaken. There are a few more trucks around though.
Saw Bobs show many years back at Night under Fire at Norwalk raceway park(Ohio). The only thing more impressive than the jet engine was the brakes on that truck. Amazing show!
Saw him in 1998 at Grand Bend Motorplex. If your not there in person than this is only half the story of what it feels like, to be there the sound in your chest the heat, this thing is awesome lol 🤘🤘
Very impressive video. I'm thinking from the comments that this backboard fire was expected. And they still put fireworks behind the backboard. Hokay. Looks awesome!
The first Jet Truck and the BEST. I remember when he first came out w/the truck about 40yrs ago. Had a long sleeve T shirt I got from him while working at New England Dragway back then as a teenager. Can't believe it's been that long. Wish he could come here in NH again.
So badass! Absolute Americana! This one time, at Baylands raceway in Fremont California, Art Arfons (one of the guys who invented the jet dragster) burned down the pedestrian walkway after his big afterburner show! But this, this ins on aloe different level…
Pretty spectacular display. And as some have pointed out, I'm pretty sure uniquely American. I don't think any other country has people doing things like this.
These trucks are so crazy, I seen shock wave and I was near the burn out box the heat that comes off is immense. It unreal and loud as all hell. Mercia
I don’t think I would wanna be sitting front row at that event. I was looking for the the guy passing out beers but passing out marshmallows for that roast.
I swear to God! I was like "you know what would be funny? If they played the America song at the end" because THEN it'd be the most murica thing ever. And they fucking did! LMAO 🤣
I fell like everyone that becomes an American citizen should have a welcoming ceremony like this. Just imagine you finally got through the process and that night you attend the "Welcoming Ceremony" at a drag strip and people are like "hey your just became a citizen right, well your in for a treat my friend" and you experience shit like this XD
