First flight of the year, and what a way to start! After unsuccessfully attempting to get into Funchal on G-JZHO in November 2018. The time had come to give it another go. The day started in Manchester's T1 where after a fairly easy departure experience, we boarded G-JZHR for the rather quick 3 hour 10 minute flight to Madeira. After a lengthy Pushback we taxied out to 23L. Following a brief engine run up to clear any ice, we departed into clear but turbulent skies. Enroute I was served my Pre-ordered breakfast, which was fantastic. Thanks a to a tailwind we were shortly approaching Runway 05, unlike the previous time, skies were brighter with broken clouds but with a bit of wind to make the brilliant approach all the more exciting. We touched down and parked 30 minutes ahead of schedule!
So overall, a brilliant flight with Jet2, as it always is! Once again I was lucky enough to get one of the newer 737's with the Sky Interior, this twinned with the seats and the legroom made for a very comfortable flight. The meal served was delicious, a good portion & great value for money. The crew were brilliant, really friendly and engaging, all the way down to addressing passengers by name when handing out meals. Finally the punctuality, with an on time departure from MAN and a very early arrival into FNC.
Jet2 once again earn top marks from me!
