Watching this and seeing the new coffee press with the outer band made me fondly remember the days of some of those grinds slipping through and having that cowboy coffee. I was just happy to have coffee in the cold, and no one else could give it to me in the convenient way Jetboil did.
I have always been pleased with every JetBoil stove and accessory that I've bought, from the Original JetBoil and the 1.5 litre Pan and the Original Fluxring FryPan, to the Titanium JetBoil SOL and the Titanium 1.7 litre Sumo. Ditto the Minimo which was my last purchase. I even bought a separate Titanium 1.7 litre Sumo Pot to fabricate into a wood and/or charcoal briquette tent stove. Suffice to say I think a lot of their designs and their quality is top notch, as I've never had a failure of any of my stoves.
Keep your camera on fixed exposure instead of auto. If you get your gas and weigh it on the scale it will let you know whats left, and you can get a £2 adaptor to refill the canister rather than leaving half empty.
the packaging is very vague on what features are available on which units, if you walk up to a display and you don't know what Zip or orange label means your lost. I have the 1L jet boil non regulated but with igniter. I ended up getting a zip that appears regulated without igniter I was disappointed when I opened the package and found out. I again looked at the package and also the description on the jetboil webpage and that igniter was not there. take some one that has never seen the jetboil system before hand have them look at you packaging see if they can figure out which features are on what system.
Great feedback Brad, thanks for mentioning this. I will pass this along to Jetboil and hopefully it is rectified down the road. Information is key to making the right stove choice for the consumer who is not sure of features or just new to them.
Exactly. I want to be sure, it applies 100x in the forest. I would like to put 230g and also a cooker on top. Can you measure it and post it here as an answer? Well thank you. A lot of people will read it.
Wish I could help more but this product is with a reviewer now and they are no longer working with us so not sure how to connect with them to answer this question for you. Hope you have better luck finding the answer! @@Standa71
Jetboil fuel uses a fuel canister containing a mix of propane and iso-butane so you can use any other fuel canister that uses the same fuel, you cannot use a white gas refillable fule bottle however.
I saw other videos were the pot support was included. Now its not? It is rediculous. What stove comes without a pot support? At 02:06 you still say that all of them come with the pot supporter, yet itnis not included. You ask an additiinal10 dollars without shipping the least for a stove that costs 100 dollars without being able to be used a stove without the pot supporter. This is insane. Thanks for the vid
Here is what Jetboil says: All canister stoves suffer a performance drop in cold weather. The colder the fuel, the lower the vapor pressure, and the lower the burner output. As far as the fuel, the output pressure in any canister stove is governed by the temperature of the gas inside the canister. As temperature drops, so does pressure. The result can be noticeably longer boil times and difficulty lighting the burner with the built-in piezoelectric ignitor. Jetpower’s lower firing rate reduces canister cooling and increases performance. Jetpower fuel, with propane, helps to mitigate cold weather problems. When temperatures drop below freezing, canisters typically need to be kept warm in a coat pocket or sleeping bag so they’re ready to use. We suggest that you keep the canister in a warm pocket between uses and remove it immediately prior to heating your food. Insulating the canister by not setting it on a cold surface also helps. We have had mountaineers use Jetboil stoves up to 8,000 m (26,000 ft.) on Mt. Everest and love them. The pressure in the canister is directly proportional to ambient temperature and as the canister gets colder, the pressure drops and therefore the heat output from the burner drops. However, by keeping the canister warm before use, it is possible to use the stove with reasonable performance even when the ambient temperatures are at and below 0 Fahrenheit. Placing the canister on or in a small piece of foam to keep it insulated from snow will also help. Altitude in itself is not so much of a problem: the pressure difference between the canister and the environment is also greater for any given temperature, so the effective gas flow rate is higher even when the canister is cold. The reduced oxygen causes the burner to burn richer, which is also helpful in the cold. Finally we do suggest that you always carry an extra canister and keep it warm to swap out with a cold one when necessary and always carry matches or lighter as a backup. If you are looking to use your cooking system in temperatures colder than 45 degrees Fahrenheit, please check out our MiniMo ,Sumo and Joule cooking systems. These systems feature our advanced Jetboil Regulator Technology to deliver consistent heat output down to 20° F (-6° C).
Hi Jason, sorry for the long delay here. We stopped making the fluxring fry pan. We only make the skillet. As replied to another person: The short answer is yes, based on how people cook and use a skillet. The main reason we moved to the new skillet is that the fluxring is intended for rapidly heating a cup or pan - whatever it's attached to. But, we realized that it doesn't allow for the best possible cooking experience, especially for people who like to move the skillet around on the burner and toss their food in the skillet. So, we made the new ceramic coated Summit Skillet. We also noticed that traditionally thin backpacking pans, and even those you might have at home, are prone to crowning when heated. I'm sure you've experienced a busted pan, where all the oil and food slides to the sides and there's a high spot in the middle. We prevent that by putting thicker material in the middle, then tapering to the sides, and adding a bit more material around the edges for strength, and durability. Does the thicker grooved bottom really work better than the fluxring? For ease of use, even heat distribution, sauteeing and low heat applications, and preventing crowning: YES!!! Does the new skillet hear more evenly than the fluxring? YES! because of the thicker center Is it easier to clean the new skillet? YES!!! The ceramic coating is simple to wipe out. Earlier that day we shot this video we had cooked over 3 dozen grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup, and veggie chili up at Solitude Ski Area @solitudemountain - a simple wipe down and the skillet was clean. They also come with a microfiber stuff sack, so you can keep them separated from the rest of your gear. The turner also has a sharp edge for cutting food in the skillet. This is a worthy upgrade and a piece of the camp kitchen worth investing in if you like to cook and make meals on the trail.
No sir, Jetboil did not start with the flash, the flash is a second gen jetboil product, i still have the first gen, so this salesmanager is not correct.
I've got one of these jetboil ..please be aware the the amount of carbon dioxide these kick off its enormous amounts...example in a 24 cubic meter room it produced 175 ppm of carbon dioxide in 2 minutes ...5 minutes of that amount and your going to be 6 foot under...so please never never use this in doors of any kind ...its a good item but very dangerous if not used in the right environment
That skillet is a serious rip off? What a ridiculous price for a small (ish) fry pan. There are pans equally as good, in not better for a lot less expense. I bought this skillet, unfortunately. I wish I hadn’t but hey, it’s done now.
do you mean "next time please sit as you introduce products"? your grammar is confusing. I am guessing that you want to see the products more up close than far away?
@@bnshk Good advice, the presenter is really in charge of the logistics when presenting even though I mention to hold items high and close to their chest so that I can shoot the products nice and tight and still get their face in the video as well.
I think you meant to say "all products are overpriced" and not "owerprice"? You will find though after some research that all Jetboil products are competitively priced compared to other comparable products on the market and they offer great value considering the quality of the products.
