I'm 55 and grew up listening to all the great music from the '60's-70's. My brother liked Jethro Tull a lot and I see why. Their music will always remind me of one of the best times as a teenager living in Northern California. Ian Anderson is a musical minstrel with the most interesting and unusual voice, face, mannerisms. Jethro Tull created such gems that are just plain brilliant. Glad they formed a band and shared their gifts...amazing talent!!!
Im 58,I grew up in the 60's & 70's era of music,I can understand exactly how you feel,I love this music,my parents always told me to turn down that crap, today I say the same thing when someone is forcing me to listen to crap,or rap and hip hop,Im sure the next generation will be told by the rap lovers to turn it down to..too..,my father would turn the truck radio on and if Hank Williams was not on he would shut it off,I wonder if his parents told him to turn down his choice of music too??
I'd like to see someone today play the flute like he does. It's an extremely precise instrument and to whistle through it is pure talent. I played it for years and could never!!!
Ahhhhhh. It was the summer of 75. I was naked. Heck, Everybody was naked. It was an Earth Party for petes sakes!! Skinny dipping and the music was just hammering on stacks of massive speakers. It was AWESOME! Mosquito bites. 2 weeks later in the er! Some strange infection from the mosquito bites! YIKES! Almost lost my leg! Worth it? HELL YA! It was Bungle In The Jungle baby.
I would only put Freddie Mercury as an equal to Ian Anderson in terms of energy and genius. To me they're the best two lead singers of all time. HE WHO MADE KITTENS, PUT SNAKES IN THE GRASS. Are you kidding me? Pure genius in only 9 words.
Was so disappointed when this 1st came out, thought Ian had finally sold out to commercialism, was not till several years later that I really began to appreciate it, one of their finest
Joe - I'm in me early 60's, and dudes like these were our staple diet for sounds....Uriah Heep, Zeppelin, John Mayall, Cocker, Steely Dan...etc.....man - we were spoilt for talent in them days........there may be a few goodies around today, but you get smashed with - Bieber, Cyrus, Adelle, Beyonce...etc.....absolute trash...commercialism to the max, quality compromised....
@@diden3527 I am 47 and lucky enough to have had parents that gave me a live of Jethro Tull! My fav albums still Songs from the Wood and Minstrel in the Gallery, lol.
let´s talk about music. Tull ´s just ingenious! great musicans! I´m playing in a band too, this is just great!! And I´m proud to be consiered as a good musician by other musicians, but honstely speaking this is a differet leage!! this is style, pure craftmanship, plus an individual, rerecognisable sound. just fantastic.
Here i am all these years later and in 1 sec I knew this was the studio track, but then I read your bit and as a project it id A OK! I am binging JT videos to add to my song list. I started busking this summer and this is a tune I want to do. Of course Aqualung and Locomotive Breath will be there too. Might do as a medley. Cheers from the Great White North Oct 28 2021
I think I needed Ian's message tonight. "He who made kittens put snakes in the grass." It's the second message I heard tonight in the last 5 minutes *ABOUT GOD* and I'm confused by the order I heard them in. You don't even want to know the first message I heard. 😂😂😂 I think God is speaking to me through talented entertainers on this night, fellow Jethro Tull fans.
Thanks! I'm glad you like it. Next will be Tull, Live in Paris 1975!! 8 Mins of minstrel in the gallery. It will be remastered (by me) and then re uploaded. I figured it out from a great guy (Paul Hart) now I'm getting it from a guy named Pete! Thanks! Underwraps2
