Fun fact: Jetpack Joyride was originally called Machine Gun Jetpack, but the title had to be changed as it was considered to be too violent for younger audiences.

The sad thing about this RTX ON Jetpack Joyride is we will never able high five the scientists ever again. We can't even spare those scientists even they already surrender, that's the saddest part :(
@@mayuravirus6134 what do you mean? All that has to happen is just play a sound effect of a clap and have a particle appear when Barry crosses paths with a scientist.
This is perfect. The only thing missing is vehicles and S.A.M. Obviously that would take a ton of work, but maybe he could revisit it for a future video
One thing triggers me awfully if he jumps and stops it’s like he hits the roof. I remember that the player model keeps getting higher for a bit even if you already stopped pressing
@@Dzeividz I think this is something missing from this remake. Momentum was very much a thing in the original, and it did make a difference in gameplay. It feels very off without it.
KISS Keep It Simple Stupid Don't overthink things. All of binary programming is literally about getting things to turn ''on'' or ''off'' and managing those states.
Gotta start somewhere man, man snake game, then solitaire, then a simple super Mario clone, then work your way up and up, work on getting some code in place that can be transferred from game to game seamlessly so you don't have to do as much work, keep your games simple but fun they don't have to be the Witcher or Fallout new Vegas. And yes, K.I.S.S.
I have a few tips on your world generation: The level always begins with static lasers, rockets aren't introduced until about sector 2 and pattern lasers until about sector 4. The futuristic hallway appears every other room, which marks your section ending and the next starting. And that's it. I can't think of anything else.
Great ! However, the realistic lighting create a gameplay issue : sometimes you can barely see the character and it might be hard to look at incoming obstacles while keeping an idea of the character position. Maybe having some glowing light on the jetpack could have done it
I would recommend making the ragdolls a bit heavier so they dont fly all over the place and make the transision between activating your jetpack and falling back down a bit smoother
Something that bothers me is that in your version the player doesn't keep their upward momentum when they stop using their jetpack, they sort of just immediately drop in an unnatural way instead of decelerating before dropping. Other than that this looks really good especially since its made by one person.
Wow! This is genuinely great! Just one thing, Barry seems to instantly start falling in your game compared to the original, where he quickly slows down instead. It's that one think that makes it seem slightly janky. I know it's already finished, so it's just something to keep in mind for the future, I guess. Great work as usual!
I remember when this guy had only a couple thousand subs and me and the others kept saying how underrated his work is and how much effort he puts in these for no actual reward. Good to see you over 700k.
One thing i noticed wrong is the main character causing the scientist to actually get hurt and rag doll when collided. It’s the jetpack and powerups that do so. But it’s still a good remake
2:21 In this part, you can give the jamming effect to laser shooters without lasers. A few electric arcs and some smoke around it would have been nice.

It looks really good, but as you said, jetpack joyride has very fluid movement, and that is because it has inertia in barry's movements, so the longer you go up, the more he goes after you stop touching, and etc. And that really feels missing on this one
As impressive as this is it’s a good lesson on how photo realism isn’t always the best option. The cartoon style was silly but very good at communicating information to the player.
You forgot the high-five😥. When a player is not flaying, and he collides with a scientist. He will high-five the scientist, and show a little sparkly effect.
This is awesome! I do have a few criticisms, the scientists in the original game get scared whenever Barry uses his jetpack, not Barry himself. He also high-fives calm scientists if that is an objective.
Missing a screaming sound effects for when you bump the scientists or shoot them. Breathing sound when he runs, jump and land, maybe a hey sound when he collects a bonus power. A 5 line speech for scientists like, help me/oh no/retreat/get down/ahhhhhh. Boots foot steps sound effect on metal or different field. Environment sound like malfunction electronics, passing Lazer sounds, explosive sounds, moving machine sounds player burns from Lazer bone cracking and fire catching sound, smoke effect landing, boots falling sound when player body hit the ground in slow motion. Reset effect with a white fade screen then respawn to checkpoint, life lost effect/sound effect. (Ooohww sound effect when bumping into scientists). I know, easy for me to say and I can't yet do what you do. But these are just extra ideas.
It would be really cool if he added the lil stomper, mr.cuddles, the profit bird, the wave rider, the crazy freaking teleporter, and the Strong Arm Machine.
Its no secret anymore that individual indie projects are WAYYYYYY more in tune with details and logical circumstances than major studios today. The indie craft isn’t focused on raking in money, but true creativity and vast imagination.
