Rodgers injury was 4 plays into the season but with that offensive line I don't theink he would have lasted 4 games. I believe he knew there was a problem and that's why he played in the final pre - season game. I also believe he was watching the rush/left tackle instead of the wide open receiver he did not throw to on the play which he was unjured.

Rodgers doesn't have more SB wins bcoz of Hackett. So you could argue Hackett's time in GB was an abject failure. Rodgers brought him to NY because Aaron's ego is as toxic and Hacketts playcalling. AR trying to be wannabe GM, too.

And smoke a LOT of weed like Lions fans do.

Back shoulder throws, stationary recievers and contested catch opportunities are not throws that you build your entire offense around. The entire offense is handcuffed with Zach at QB.

F the Jets. I’m from Brooklyn and I almost became a Jets fan but we moved to Hamburg when I was a kid thank god. The Bills are the most cursed franchise in all of worldwide sports but it’s still way better than being a Jets fan lol.

Raiders fan in peace, I get where you guys are at, and much as I enjoy trolling the Jets I'll stand shoulder to shoulder with any fan who sticks by their team through thin and thinner. Serious question though, how much of this season's disappointment is down to the pre-season hype, particularly the expectation that Rodgers would somehow fix the offense? I didn't buy that, I had the Jets down for 8 wins this season (with a healthy Rodgers) and with the Falcons, Pats, and The Team We Used To Call The Deadspins still to come there are three more on the table, which would still match your best season since 2015. This doesn't seem like the usual Jets mess, sure you've lost to three teams you had no business losing to, nothing new there, but on the upside you've beaten a couple of teams you had no business beating, and you've done both of those things with practically no offense to speak of. It could be worse.

@mitabpraga7487 In my opinion we had overestimated the talent on the offensive side of the ball. The injuries to the O-Line have been ridiculous. Few teams have had anywhere as many go down as we have. Lazard, Cobb, Carter and several others have underperformed, versus our expectations. Unfortunately we did did not have a solid backup QB to help, when Rodgers went down. Zach was supposed to watch and learn, but was thrusted to starter when it was clear he wasn't ready. Management should have done a better job putting the team together. We must now hope that this mess doesn't set the team back for years to come. Nonetheless, I still root for my team. Happy holidays to all my fellow Football fans.

Zach's a tough question, I don't think he's as bad as he's looked, he's not the first QB to have been under-prepared and over-exposed, and certainly not the first Jets one (Geno Smith, anyone?) but maybe moving on from him would be better for both parties. I also rate Saleh as HC (despite him going all-in on Rodgers), he's a thoughtful guy and he learns stuff. I think if he can keep the D on board, get a couple of half-decent options at QB1 & 2 and get a running game going then, with a reasonably healthy O-line, you could be looking at a winning season in 2024. Patience doesn't seem to be a valued commodity in the NFL anymore, but I think it needs to be with the Jets. Happy holidays to you too.

@@FlpDScrp Yeah no. You don't waste a championship defense on "the long term." The Jets can only keep the core of this defense for so long before they're priced out of the salary cap. It's now or never. If they're gonna invest in anything it has to be in the worst unit on the team -- the offensive line. They are the cause of almost ALL of the Jets' problems. Get an O line with some depth and when Rodgers comes back I guarantee you they'll get where they intended to go this season.

But from my perch at a distance it seems only logical, after you staked your franchise on it, that you dance with who brung ya, which in this case is Aaron Rodgers. But he's gotta stay vertical longer than 4 plays and that requires a competent offensive line. They can deal with a rebuild after they get their shot with Rodgers; but you can't waste maybe the #2 defense in the NFL on re-tooling the team at this juncture. Even if they get only one season out of Rodgers, that's their best shot at a title before the inevitable disbanding of the D unit. It's either go for it now or it'll be ANOTHER 40 years before they get close again.

On top of that , hire a trash OC, pay Lazard 44 mill for 4 years when there was no market for him, sign Cobb, the oldest WR in the league ,when there was no market for him, sign Boyle, throw in Cook , when you already had Hall…. All to make AR happy so the Jets could sign him. Then act shocked when he got hurt. I mean, let's be real: Zach Wilson is a BIG problem, and Tim Boyle - he of 1 TD and 13 INT career playing for UConn - struggling reveals nothing about Wilson, doesn't absolve Wilson in the slightest.

Eric Berry had a play where the Falcons. who had trailed all day, took a 1 pt lead on the Chiefs late in the game, and they decided to try a 2pt conversion to force us to make a FG to tie, and Berry returned the 2pt conversion 102 yards to give us back a 1pt lead which held up for victory.

Even if it’s very complex…..Hackett has had 12 weeks to make adjustments. And he won’t. This isn’t the only team missing starting lineman. If your O-line is only giving 2-3 seconds of protection, then design plays around that. Some no-name QB in New England did that for years, throwing to Welker and Edelman. And I think they went to the playoffs a few times…if I remember correctly………

Complex? This is a variant of the Shanahan offense that has the last pick of the draft in his second year looking like an MVP candidate. If a QB can’t succeed in this offense, they can’t succeed in the nfl

If your scheme is so complex that QB’s can’t pick it up in their first year with you as OC, and your unwilling to change it or adapt it in any way to make it work for your current QB, than the OC needs to be fired. It’s like a math teacher who has a student who gets 96% of the questions on a test correct, but gives the student a 55% because he didn’t do the problems using certain steps. Insanity.
