I have a feeling Matthews does what Tavares did and signs with Arizona in free agency after his current contract ends, hopefully(for him) by then the yotes are a competitive team(or still a team at least)

Tavares was playing for a garbage franchise run by morons for years in which he made the playoffs twice in 9 years and wanted to come home to the original six team him, his family his friends and previous generations grew up with. Arizona is a garbage hockey market. Why leave being the spotlight of the world for a trash franchise that shouldn't have a hockey team? Oh because he is from there? His parents don't care ablut Coyotes hockey, only his uncle did because it was local to them. There is a difference. Same with Crosby, he didnt leave Pens for MTL being from halifax and die hard habs fan. Tavares left because he wanted to come home to where they live breathe and bleed hockey in Toronto
I miss Laine with the jets a lot, and I wish he never went, but at the same time I wouldn't take the trade back either, I just wish we could have had both players lol
@@purplepants491 from what i learned from jets fans when the trade went down he was upset because he was on the 4th line despite managing to get a hattrick while playing limited minutes. tons of jets fans said that he sucked
I dont dislike dubois and think hes ok player, but hes not on that elite level as laine. Laine could potentially be known as one of the greatest goal scorers of all time (if he gets to play 15 years with good center obv like ovie etc...), dubois is decent second line center and i feel like currently, columbus wouldnt do 1:1 with laine for pld anymore, so columbus won the trade by far imo.
You're right...and wrong. It was never a 1:1 trade. Jet's were screwed by previous long term deals that didn't pan out. They should have got rid of ______ to save Laine? Only option was to trade a Connor...you pick which would be more devastating.
2 different players, I'd take Dubois over Laine for a playoff run any day of the week, I miss Laine but this is a trade that needed to happen. KC has turned into our goal scorer and he is doing a fine job

Only losers are bitter. And Laine never said anything bad about Winnipeg, just the opposite and he was the fan favorite from the first shift till the last shift in the Jets jersey.
I don’t know how much stock I can put into a take from a guy named « Stentor of Sparta ». Laine leaving was nothing but a business decision and the fans understood mans wanted to get paid and we couldn’t afford him, the trade was win win for both teams and only idiots take that beef personally
