@@TheMightySpurdo but this time armstrong is made of fucking lego or smth and using flex tape to just unga bunga witchcraft spell his arm back likr nothing happened, gotta love the nanomachines
Nice! I've done him on Revengeance with no damage but just the boss, didn't think of trying to attack him the way you did, I just dodged repeatedly until he pauses.
@@123miky You mean the part where he CONSTANTLY tries grabbing you? I found offensive defence (the evade) is key there, there appears to be rare moments where he does not attack you. But, yes, that phase is annoying...
@@alexlun4464 originally MGRR was being developed by Kojima productions under the name Metal gear Solid:Rising, Kojima productions struggled to finish the game and it was eventually passed to Platinum games, who revamped the project to Metal gear rising revengance
Great video (damn I still have to get all MGRR dlc's trophies!): this boss battle reminds me the one against Solidus Snake in MGS2 for some reason 0:24 XD
damn thats really fucking impressive especially considering how hard it was to defeat him on 2nd phase cuz he keeps spamming attacks with no chill at all u beat him like that anyway and you made me realize i just have skill issue great job on this run!!
i like to think this is the canon version of this fight. Sam at the top of his game versus a man whose only formal training in combat is playing football in college. Armstrong may have nanomachines, but they don't make him any better at fighting, they just make up for his lack of formal training with pure force, which is the entire reason Sam lost this fight.
I hate this boss, with every other boss in the game even if I struggled with them, I still had this moment of realization after I figured out how to fight them properly like "Ok, that's fair" but this fight is bullshit. He keeps charging back and forth over and over again until it hits you, and he keeps using the same attack over and over again until he kills you, you barely even get a chance to attack
Like in Raiden’s fight you could actually attack but with Sam’s fight you literally can’t. Armstrong full on charges at you when you’re in a small space
Fr but nice you get good at dodging it’s still bull shit but I kinda had fun but not when I first fought him I gave it a week and came back with o this boss and I actually beat him and it was fun
If he won, Sam would have continued to fight against crime and could have became friend with Raiden But if Sam somehow would have got the nanomachines, he would have been unstoppable
Wait do you guys think cybernetics override strength? Imo it amplifies strength because you can see that other characters with cybernetics aren’t as strong as other characters with cybernetics if Sam had as much cybernetics as the rest of the characters Sam woul be the strongest character in the game and maybe franchise idk
One thing I hate about this DLC is the terrible arenas and Sam feels clunky as hell to play as unless you remap your dodge key. Even then they flood small places with strong enemies and make them super aggressive to the point they attack faster than you can recover, leaving no room for dodging. This fight was the least painful part of the ordeal but Armstrong is hard when he is so damn aggressive 😂 Very Hard mode is something else…
its a rough dlc. the areas that you fight in are my biggest issue. that's the reason (at least it seems) why armstrong's flying unblockable attack can just spaz out, since the arena is a perfect square. still a great fight but damn bro.
Tried to do a no-damage run in this and I had to click "restart checkpoint" like 10 or 20 times, when I try jumping when he goes charging at you 3 or 4 times he LITERALLLY FLIES TO CATCH ME BL
I've played this game for years on ps3, LITERALLY YEARS. And I never knew you could play at this level. It's like after Doom Eternal, I finally understand what the fun zone is.
This "boss" is just spam just that. I bet that if it was a playable character the rats would just spam the same two moves with the kick as a cooldown to the same two moves.
You should react instead of time. Position yourself to always be a few meters away from him when he starts (otherwise it's IMPOSSIBLE to dodge) and have him locked on, then pay attention to him as he approaches and roll into him.
i played trough the whole game and both dlcs without knowing what dodging was and i played trough both dlcs without upgrading. and in my opinion sam dlc was pretty easy i thought blade wolf dlc was harder (still easier than main story) but the boss was easy af first try
100% BULLSHIT I never have that much time at the start to hit him. He always goes into his charging attack. He sometimes does it twice in a row. And sometimes the entire attack glitches, he ends up circling me off screen and then I get hit. Trash boss, so poorly made.
I just finshed it in Very Hard WITHOUT TAKING DAMAGE, and the game has the nerve to give me B. B, just because my combo was of a maximum of 6 hits. How the f*ck am I supposed to hit him if he keeps swinging around and around?!
