Anthony Davids Thanks for the comment, it is my husbands video (so it is me that you see throughout) apologies for the delay Hubby is clearly rubbish at replying. He is very pleased with the results and the lovely comments. It really is a fantastic itinerary, with some amazing bucket list stops, He really took the best of the footage and edited into the long video, I think he got pretty much all of the places we went to in. But happy to answer any questions. Thanks again for watching, I know we hunted for videos before we went and struggled to find anything decent.

We have also been on Silhouette, last year for a 2 night mini cruise. We loved the ship (not the 2 night booze cruise feel though). Would love to do the Greek Islands on it, that would have been amazing!
In the process of planning our 10-year anniversary trip and we are considering this itinerary. Wonderful, quality video. Thank you for sharing your beautiful trip! What were your favorite stops? Any recommendations for must-see or must-do things?
Hi...first of all congratulations on your 10 year anniversary, you’ll love this itinerary! Glad you enjoyed our video :) All the stops were special and amazing in their own way (and had different vibes). Athens was a real highlight, so too was Santorini (we were lucky there was only 2 ships in that day so not as crowded as it could’ve been). We loved Taormina in Sicily, beautiful views from the amphitheatre and charming old town. We loved Rhodes too....and Mykonos. Greece in general is superb (we’ve been on a few land based holidays to Greece before so love that part of the world). Of course just the whole experience of cruising we love. As far as tips go - in Santorini, get off the ship as early as possible and take one of boats round to Oia (the famous location) before the crowds get there. Then get a coach to Fira where you can get the cable car back down. The boat trip ticket to Oia includes the coach fare to Fira. Other tips would be to plan ahead especially in places like Athens (for example, we pre booked our Acropolis tickets online to save time whilst there. If you do that, make sure you enter via the South Gate because the other gate is the main ticket office where the queues are insane!) In a couple of weeks we are going on a 8 night Iberian cruise (sailing from Barcelona). Will be filming that one too, can’t wait! I really Loved some of the music choices and appreciate the show of the different ports in addition to views of the ship. My church group and I are headed on this same trip in October of this year.
Wow....Symphony of the Seas would be epic, for sure. We currently have a Brilliance cruise booked for September (sailing out of Barcelona). Looking forward to that - might make a series of shorter videos covering that one (Vlog style), not sure yet. :)

The camera was the IPhone 6S with a DJI Osmo Mobile 2 Gimbal. The first time he used the gimbal, we loved the results with the time lapse. :)
Great video! Looking into this cruise but since we've been on Royal's largest ships I'm afraid that this ship is small. Years ago we traveled to Hawaii on Radiance and it really was a very small ship. Was the entertainment any good? Food? Did you take their excursions or did you do things on your own? Hi David, apologies for the late reply, it is my husband’s video but he is rubbish at replying. We have been on other cruises with Royal, going on Freedom class and Quantum class as well as other radiance class (yet to experience Oasis Class though). We loved all of for different reasons. We went in Serenade of the Seas on our Honeymoon in 2014 around the Adriatic which was amazing and like this cruise the smaller ship was able to stop at the slightly smaller ports giving a different feel. Cruising into Venice was truly memorable. This cruise was more about itinerary than ship. The entertainment was ok (better on Ovation and Liberty) but still good. Food was excellent in the specialty restaurants and we enjoyed the buffet and main dining room too. I have to be honest though and say we really chose this cruise for the itinerary.
Hi. There's a fair amount of debate on how you did 27:12 through 27:16. We're not sure if it was gimbal, tripod, or done in editing. Or perhaps you just have an incredibly steady hand. Would you mind shedding some light here?
Hi.... thanks for the question. When we went on this cruise we had a Osmo Mobile 2 gimbal. So it was filmed on a iPhone 6s, clamped into the gimbal. We used DJI‘s app to film the Hyperlapse stuff (whilst walking as slowly/carefully as possible to minimise any bumps - which is amplified when footage is speeded up). We now have an Osmo Pocket 2 (mini gimbal with a 4K camera built in) which we’ll be taking on our next cruise holiday this September...Can’t wait!! :)
@@theealesadventures Thanks for your reply. It's quite possible that the Osmo Mobile 2 gimbal has much better tracking than my Smooth 3. I couldn't get my shots to do that. I'll try again in Greece. :-)
@@DoesAnyoneReallyUseHandles I'm sure you'll get some amazing shots in Greece (hard not to with such beautiful surroundings). One thing that did made a difference with regards to smooth shots was downgrading the phone from a iPhone 7 to a iPhone 6S. This is because the 7 had optical stabilisation that didn't work well with the Osmo Mobile 2's gimbal. As the 6s doesn't have optical stabilisation, there wasn't any issue with with the conflicting stabilisation technologies. You can pick up a second hand iPhone 6s quite cheaply online (make sure you get a 64gb one if you do). :)
ju yo Hi, thanks for the comment and apologies for the late reply (it is my husbands video but he is rubbish at replying). We booked a taxi (through the guest house) when we arrived in Rome. It was the simplest way as we didn’t want to waste any time as it was our wedding anniversary. Very efficient, they were waiting in arrivals and it cost €130 if I recall. We booked our own return taxi after the cruise with Cabs For Rome I think, book before we left the UK. I think getting that train from the airport is reasonably easy, the train station in Civitavecchia is about a 10 minutes flat walk to the port entrance where there are buses to take to the ships. We stayed for 2 nights before embarkation so it wasn’t a mad rush. Hope that helps :)
