Great video! What about 18k electroplated gold? I've been seeing this and recently found a vintage piece with this marking. Thank you

I enjoyed this informative video! I have always been a little confused on the difference between gold filled and gold vermeil and now l understand the difference between the two. It was also interesting to learn how Palladium is used as well. Looking forward to tomorrow’s video. Thanks for sharing.😊✨✨

Great research! Super useful. One brand that makes a lot of vermeil stuff is Monica Vinader. Really nice brand.

I have quite a bit of jewelry. Some of it is silver, such as the ring I inherited from my grandma. Some of it is steel, like I have a necklace that is 100% stainless steel chain and feels quite cold to the touch, and I have another that I think is like copper plated steel or something similar cause it has like this dark bronze color to it on the surface, but it sticks to a magnet quite strongly, so I know steel is at the core of it. And a few of my rings are a very shiny yellow like gold, but are much too light to be solid gold, so maybe they are gold plated or vermeil, I don't know. My ruby jewelry I'm almost 100% certain is silver cause my grandparents that got me the jewelry aren't that rich and I don't think steel would be used with such a precious stone. Anyway, I've noticed that like my finger will start to itch quite a bit if I wear my silver ring for a prolonged period. I don't get like a rash or anything, just itchiness. And it is black and tarnished on the inside(probably cause my grandma wore it all the time) and has a dull patina on the outside, so I'm thinking that the itching is probably from the tarnish and not the silver metal itself. It's a shame though that I can't wear that ring without itching, cause I love it so much and it's my first ever piece of silver jewelry. My ruby necklace and bracelet don't cause any sort of reaction whatsoever and they, like I said, I'm almost certain are silver too, but they are shiny and haven't tarnished yet like the ring I got from my grandma did.

Pure 99.99 silver isn’t commonly made into jewelry like 24k/pure gold because it’s less durable, but on the rare occasions, it’s said not to tarnish. Asians love 24k gold but yeah it’s very soft. My 24k earrings stud backings are getting bent 🙄 but I love the bright yellow orange color.

Lol. Thank you for sharing this with us. The color of 24k is beautiful and bright. I love to see it in Indian jewelry. Hopefully you can get your backs replaced. ✨✨

Hi Jodi! Nice video, but I have to respectfully disagree with your assessment of the reason 24k gold is not often used for jewelry. The same jewelers here in the United States and Europe who insist that 24k & 22k are too soft for jewelry would happily take your money, and fly to Dubai and buy 24k gold bars, coins, and yes jewelry. Please do the research on MENE and the few other brands here that are trying to bring jewelry with much higher intrinsic value to consumers here. ❤️❤️❤️

Gotcha. I've just never had any and plan to buy some when I travel. Do you have any Mene jewelry? How has your experience been?

@@JODIMMOSLEY Having some in your collection is a great idea from a financial standpoint. I do own two MENE gold rings, and they are lovely, and a fantastic price for the weight and purity of gold you receive. The deep yellow color of the 24k looks amazing against my dark complexion. My new go to brand.👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿

@@kamilahclahar7866 cool thx! I'll have to research them more. I wish they had a boutique. I don't see any wow reviews on RU-vid and I have trust issues. I like to play with stuff before I buy them. I do love the color of pure gold however. I am concerned about durability because I quite literally live in my jewelry and have to be sure they aren't at risk. I'm going to Dubai soon and plan to check out some 24k there. Thank you so much. ❤️✨

@@JODIMMOSLEY I definitely have trust issues too. I get where you’re coming from. That’s why I bought the rings first as a small investment., but they are the real deal.
