What is it like to be raised in a Jewish family but find that the Mormon Church is the church you need to join? Gale Boyd tells her experience of feeling the spirit in the Mormon faith, finding similarities with Judaism and eventually deciding to convert to the Mormon Church.
Gale was young when she began looking for a Church to join. While she was raised with Jewish influence, she wasn't brought up by fully devoted Jewish parents. As she looked for a Church, she began investigating Mormonism and expressed her feelings of being "at home" when she entered a Mormon chapel.
Watch for her full conversion story:)

I’m also a Jewish to lds convert. I was raised Jewish and my whole family is Jewish and when I was a sophomore in college I joined the church. It’s so cool to see that someone else went through so many of the same things as me. I wish I could meet her!

Im of Nephite descent as are the majority of Polynesia. Some Polynesians have a mix of Lamanite blood as well. Those that left Jerusalem 600 years before Christ, namely; Lehi and his family, then later, Ishmael and his family, are descendants of Joseph, who was sold into Egypt. The Jews today, are of Judah, the older brother of Joseph. The Lord preserved the Nephites even to this day, through the curiosity of Hagoth, the son of Alma the Younger, who built ships and set forth into the ocean. The two tribes that are known to walk the earth today, are of Judah and Joseph. The Native Americans and Polynesian people have already been genetically linked. Native American tribes speak and write Hebrew, in particular the Mik maq an eastern Algonquian language of Nth America derives from Hebrew. The remaining 10 lost tribes taken captive, shall return from out of the regions of the north. The Kohanim (decendants of Aaron, the Levites) are amongst us in many nations, however, the Kohanim priests, have been offering pure sacrifices under the direction of the Saviour, throughout this, the last dispensation before his return. The pure bloodline of the Kohanim priests coincides with the pure sacrifices offered up. I am of the bloodline of Hagoth, who is buried in my country, he who gave homage to the Lord by taking a portion of scripture to name our land, even Aotearoa. Which means, "love the world"... God so "loved the world" he gave his only begotten son....God bless each of us.

When I was a missionary in Texas the Church developed a set of missionary discussions to teach Jews the true Gospel of Christ. We discussed Old Testament prophets, followed by the prophecies there of the coming of Jesus Christ and his life. Then we demonstrated the New Testament scriptural accounts of his life that fulfilled, one by one, each of those prophecies. My companion and I were selected to try these discussions out in the Austin area. There was a Jewish adult woman who was interested in the Church and we taught her these new discussions. The Holy Ghost was powerful in those lessons! It was such a joy, such a miracle, to watch her gain a testimony of the Savior, and then of His Church, this Church. I'll never forget it.

Les Clark That's so awesome! We're so excited for you. If you want to send us your conversion story (clearly we love conversion stories haha) feel free to message us on Instagram @3mormons. Either way, congrats on your coming baptism :)
@windywithachanceofsunshine5219
Les, Ask a LOT of questions! Ask them if the Jesus they believe in is really God or just a part of the godhead. Ask them is their god is the God who made everything or just organized it and is only the god of this universe. Ask them if their god was once a man who came to perfection. Their god was literally created by Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother - physical sex - and they believe that Satan is the brother of Jesus. Is this the "religion" that you want to follow? Pray for the truth. They also believe that God has a body of flesh and bones unlike the God in the bible who repeatedly tells us that he is a spirit. He also tells us in Genesis that Jesus will come to save the world. And our God created the angels, like Satan, who disobeyed God and became the evil one. Satan was not born along with Jesus. Les, ask many direct questions. I will bet you that they will deflect your questions and not give you a direct answer. They will also hide many things until you are baptized, and THEN, after it is too late, you will find out all these things I am telling you. Beware of false prophets, Les! The one true God is the creator of all who always was and always will be. There is no other God.

I hope you have or had given yourself pause to reflect and meditate on the action you were intent upon making. I found myself in the position you were in several years ago, became a member of the LDS Church, even happily embracing the "calling" to go on a mission...only to regret that I had committed myself to these people and their insular social culture/"church community" (the reality being you are "joining" a community of fellow believers, not just following a spiritual pathway). Once you become a member (which includes forking over at least ten percent of your income for the rest of your mortal existence) you'll soon discover that those cheery, just good all-around Latter Day Saints are judgmental, pathologically obsessed with looks/money, status conscious, believe in multiple gods, think of Satan as their (and Jesus Christ's) "brother", are encouraged to lie to non-Mormons (even to the point of criminal fraud) , to say nothing of their explicit demands that you follow and believe EVERYTHING their leaderships commands, even if they end up contradicting themselves. I will never get those years back. Think carefully about what you're getting involved with.

Well, for us missionaries it was great. We enjoyed it. Some of the members though were skeptical about him. They felt he didn't have official sanction from the church to be going around speaking at firesides and such. He felt it was his mission to talk about his conversion story. We didn't really understand the members reactions then, I still don't. (I wonder how they would have felt about you guys now?) LOL! Anyway, I know he became good friends with Gordon B. Hinckley the last 20 years of their lives. In fact, I think he and President Hinckley died the same evening back in 2008 I think?

Ingvild, The joy you are feeling is fleeting. The Mormon church will keep you on a cloud because you will be with Mormons 100% of the time. But it is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Pray for the truth. Once you are in the church you will have a hard time leaving. That is the nature of this animal. The serpent tempted Adam and Eve and they disobeyed God. He made it look so appealing, and they were in paradise! Please think about it before you "literally", take the plunge deep into the depths... My daughter took the plunge 20 years ago. At first she was euphoric, but her life has been nothing short of disaster since. But God has told me that she will one day be a Christian again. This is my hope. This is my faith in God. And also keep in mind, Ingvild that you are to shun those who do not agree with Mormonism, even your family. No other church does that. What kind of church tells you to turn your back on those you love?

I love this elegant, down-to-earth lady!! What a powerful, intimate testimony!! I really appreciated her sharing her story! Very profound. What a great example to converts! My mother converted to the Church of Jesus Christ in Finland, when she was 20 years old, 60 years ago. This beautiful woman gave me so much insight into the challenges my mother must have face, within her family and culture. I assume that my mother has to be 20 years older. They definitely had to face deeply entrenched traditional norms that were fixed. Thank you so much for sharing this. I just subscribed. Keep up the good work!!

Yes, the one, true God is wonderful. The god of Mormonism is not the same god. Answer me this - How can an omnipotent being have ever been created? Who created the original god, and the one before him and the one before him. There had to be a being that was never created. Why don't you believe in that God? The Mormon god, your god is only of this universe and he was created by Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother, a man who came to perfection. Who created HF and HM? My God always was, always will be. He created everything. He had no beginning and will have no end. I know that I will spend eternity with Him one day and that gives me total peace.

Yeshua was a Jew and had a Jewish education from the Holy Spirit. He quoted from and expounded on the Torah and the Prophets. Investigate for yourselves and you will see that Yeshua is the Messiah and will yet establish the kingdom of Israel in the foretold age of glory. The prophecies in the scriptures about the messianic age refer to a resurrected and immortal Messiah. He can’t reign forever, unless he lives forever. “Who has believed what we have heard, and to whom is the arm of of YHWH revealed? 2For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he had no form or impressive majesty that we should look on him, and no appearance that we should desire him. 3He was despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and YHWH has laid on him the iniquity of us all.....” (Isaiah 53) Shalom.

All you gain by joining the Church is social functions (company) and religious teachings nothing more. The Church requires a participation on your part by contributing to the tithing (1/10) program which is used to run the Church functionally around the world, a sort of tax. Saying that she is in at her age doesn't sound right. The only common thing the LDS has with Jewish tradition is the LDS Temple. Jews lost theirs during the civil war against the Romans in 70AD. We have restored more than 180 Temples spread around the globe. I think that's one aspect to can appeal to a Jewish person.

Kwaku El if you were to be handed a clear liquid and you were told it was water how would you if it was water? Surely you wouldn’t apply one test to it? You could look at it and say sure it looks like water but that doesn’t mean it’s water. You could also test it by checking the ph, the atoms in it, how it tastes, if it evaporates, if it boils at 100 C. So if you wouldn’t do one test to find out if the water is really water then why would you do one test for the Book of Mormon to see if it’s true?
