Vera tells her story with such eloquence and grace. Her parents sound like such wonderful people. Kudos to all the British people who took in those Jewish children from Europe. Her foster parents sound like wonderful people, too. Thank you, Vera, for your testimony.

A truly heartwarming and also heartbreaking story of a wonderful CZECH family. Thank you to those brave people of Britain who refused to surrender to Hitler when ALL Europe had fallen to his hordes !

Around the 18th minute, when Vera talks about "staying at religious classes since there was not even another option", she means Roman catholic religious classes that were taught at state schools by a local priest, typically once a week. I don't think the interviewer got that.

I feel don’t have the vocabulary to express the empathy that I feel for the remarkable Vera and her story. So articulate and well spoken . Kudos to the interviewer for letting Vera telling her story without constant unimportant questions

Me. Hissing was an amazing speaker. What a wonderful human being! I am so glad she survived the Holocaust and so sorry she lost her parents and so many extended family members to the Nazis.

This was actually one of the best, you should hear how some of them talked to the survivors. I use to wonder where they found these people, but it must be hard going through all this too.
