Interesting to think about the fact that whoever owned that Impala back in '63 could very well have heard the news about the Kennedy assassination on that very radio.
Cool ol '59. Sadly most people just see it going down the street and think it is just an old clunker, not knowing how mechanically sure it is underneath now that you've had your hands on it!
Something else to witness after 60 years. I remember that day vividly in elementary school .My schoolteacher Mrs. Smith cried in front of all of us was very sad and thats been living with me since. Also on a good note your 1959 Chevy was in mint condition then 4 years old or so then & on the road that day. Now today 60 years later its still on the road. Thats really pretty darn amazing too on a good note Oh & nice weather there too........Glenn
I was in first grade and my teacher too was a Mrs. Smith. I can't remember if she was crying or otherwise emotional, because it's all gotten so fuzzy over time. She told us to put our heads down on our desks and say a prayer for the president and turned out the classroom lights. After a minute or so, she turned them back on and told us that we'd now be getting ready to go home.
Wow this is so awesome! Thank you for sharing! I would like to do this same tour someday! I love your 59 Chevy by the way! Seems like they would have the seat marked in the movie theater that he sat in.
Hard to believe its been 60 years. I was in the 8th grade. It happened right at our dismissal time, so they did not announce it at school. I found out when I got outside and some high school kids standing on the sidewalk were talking about it. I remember getting home and my father, who was off work that day, had the TV on. He was pretty shook up.
Those drivers in Dallas seem to love to hunk their horns. I hope they are not as aggressive as they sound. People loved to see the 59 Chevy. It would have been one of the most common cars back in 63.
@@57highland He's a fuckin' Kennedy. An OG Democrat. The Democrat Party treats him as an outsider. The guy has to run as an Independant. No primary debates with Biden. WTF
@@cyrilhudak4568 He has some "outsider" positions. And the "dynasty" thing re the Kennedys is long past. The name means little to nothing anymore, as far as political advantage is concerned. And are you telling me that this is the first time that a challenge to an incumbent president from within his party has been frowned on?
@@cyrilhudak4568 And the "What would President Kennedy be like today?" thing is just ridiculous. He'd be 106 years old today, so please just give it a rest.
I remember that there were no television shows at all just coverage of the assassination I was 6 and I remember my sisters telling me that Ruby shot ozwald because he Love John Kennedy so much
My cousin and I was watching the reports on tv and on Sunday we saw Oswald shot and killed on tv and at that moment we knew the Kennedy assassination was a coup.
