Come to Florida instead my guy. Copy what rich does and you can get on 30-40 different species (including flounder) from a kayak. No need to pay a guide. Just rent a kayak for your time here and buy some cheap rods to go with your own reels. Don’t need crazy strong tackle, a cheap Walmart 7” inshore rod and a 2500 series reel will get you on nearly everything you can find from a kayak.

I still believe it helps and the proof is there. Bleed one and not the other and look at both filets. Easy to see. But its not terrible

@@briansupermag3918 yup I had one striper I bonked, stabbed in the brain, and bled and one of my friends they just threw it in the cooler to die a slow painful death. Well we cooked up both and the one he left in the cooler was bloody, meat wasn’t white, and tasted minerally. Needless to say I convinced him to do the necessary work of killing them and bleeding them before just throwing them into a cooler

Fluke are a type of flounder. Fluke is just a nickname for summer flounder. Not all flounder are fluke, but all fluke are flounder.

The small ones i just do a quick measure to see if it’s anywhere remotely close then if it is I’ll get precise. But yes mouth closed is the proper way to measure.

I'm not selling fillets and if you know anything about me and have followed my channel for a long time you can see I am a big advocate on catch and release. I dare you. Watch a dozen of my videos and you will see. Then maybe you won't judge and insult a person so quickly. In addition Mr. Clown, these fish in this video aren't big Fluke/Summer Flounder by any means. If you are comparing them to Southern Flounder which is a different sub species your mistaken. Summer Flounder get much bigger and a big one is considered 8lbs to 15+lbs. All of these flounder in this video are 2 to 4lbs maybe. Obviously you have never worked in the industry up North and so I'll give you some more information. Commercial fishing is what creates a lot of impact on the stocks of fish. Its a sad truth for some to understand but people have to eat. Commercial fisherman or woman can drag a net and keep Fluke/Summer Flounder at 14" and up. Recreational has to generally be 17",18",19" or even 20" and up to keep (it varies almost every year and by state) when commercial fisherman drag with their nets they unfortunately catch everything else along the bottom not just flounder. That also impacts other stocks of fish like Porgies, Sea Bass, Skate, Dogfish, Monkfish etc... Gill netters also play a role in catching a lot of Striped Bass over and under the slot size and some survive some don't. Then you have fisherman or woman that probably illegally fish and keep what ever size fish they want. I noticed there is a lot of people that do that in Florida. But its not just there is its all over the country that people illegally fish. I use to work on a charter boat off Montauk and charter boats also play a role. But you know what? I made it my job on top of my job to inform the customers how much would be yielded from the fish that they were catching. Educating them was the best thing that I could do so that in the end of the day we would throw back probably 5 times the amount of what we kept. Then customers wouldn't go home with 50lbs or 100lbs of fillets and not know what to do with it all. When they did bring home fish I would also educate them to eat it quick or if not then teach them the poor mans vacuum sealer trick by placing the fillet in a zip lock and dunking it in a bucket of water so it pushes out all the air and you can freeze your fillets. I also use to have to fight about catch and release with my Captain but he eventually understood. Then I became a Captain myself and ran my boat in a very conservative manner. The older Captains from back in the day use to kill everything. It was like a contest for them. Who could bring in the most fish. I care more about the fisheries and the fish in our waters than you will ever know Mr. Clown. Thanks for the view and I think you need to get out of your home state and fish more. I've fished up and down the whole east coast from Maine to the Florida Keys and everywhere in between in salt and fresh 10+ times. I live in Florida now and I fish 300+ plus days a year for the last 20+ years. You don't have to worry about me illegally fishing or not following the rules. I could go on and on. Don't judge a book by its cover. Tight Lines
