Jeremy Smith and Captain Ben Wolfe from Sportfish Michigan are fishing for big lake trout in the great lakes. Throughout the Northwest, Great Lakes into Canada, lake trout are one of the favorites. Lake trout are a cold water species that inhabit deep water throughout the warm summer months. Lakers are also the largest of all North American trout. In 1995, the 72-pound IGFA all-tackle world record was caught by Lloyde Bull out of Great Bear Lake in the Northwest Territories. Throughout the mid-1900s, lake trout populations in the great lakes plummeted because of commercial fishing and the lamprey. Since that time, the department of natural resources started programs to bring the lake trout back, and we're now seeing the fruits of their labor. In recent years numerous giants have been showing up throughout the great lakes region.

I remember watching In fisherman episodes for big Lakers in the 90's That was when tv was available,,,, heat/ electric , going to lakes fishing and it was normal ... Man I miss that now its been hard just to get out and fish due to the new protocol they initialized like 5-6 years ago ... New York State changed as being premier fishing state , but they knew it when they created what they did 5-6years ago with someone ....

You didn't answer his questions do you spot lock or drift, when there's a good current you can't really spot lock and vertical because your line continues to keep going from the the boat now you have no control of feel or proper technique, so do you have a answer,,,it would help us all

Thanx for the laker hunting tips! Al, I trusted Christ at 29 yrs old. At the time I recall thinking that the last thing in my life that I wanted was Jesus Christ. But the Lord kept tugging at my heart. I knew it was Him tugging, and finally had to succumb to the good news of Christ- the gospel. But I wouldn’t advise that approach. “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He’s near”. In this day and age the presence of your enemy satan, ought to be obvious.
