She married a homophobic liar. He was fired from TLC which he says he quit from Counting On. He was fired for attacking the star of the TLC show I Am Jazz (a transgender teen) over social media. He was warned to stop and wouldn't. You can Google it. He tries to make it sound like he walked away to benefit his family. That's a lie.

While it's sad that it happened it being so public was wrong. It should have been on her own terms at the right time for her personally. Just because they were on a reality show doesn't give the public the right to scrutinize their every move. It has done more harm than good. Hopefully through councling a new path will open up Jill is a good soul with alot of talent .

I bet that’s gonna help a lot of people. Therapy is just a designated place to have structured conversations about conflict resolution, resolving personal traumas or just learning how to better manage stress. It’s about getting some new tools to live your life more effectively, so yeah God bless em.

I saw Derek this fall in a video Jill posted flashing the 666 hand symbol lol! They want to be in the spotlight, but the only way anyone is interested in them is if she is talking about her famous family. I think the reason she doesn't hang with her family anymore is because Derek got greedy with the money and made Jill alienate them because of it.. She uses the fact people in the media talk smack about her family for clout

I went to public and Catholic schools. I decided in 4th grade I wasnt Catholic and didnt care for Catholism class every day for years, but I def. liked Catholic school better. Public school had a lot of mean nasty kids

Jill and Derek, I’m so pleased that you made the changes that were obviously needed. You both have been my favourite couple and thank you for being open about therapy and how it helps during hard times as well as the good times. I think by being open in the way you are with your children, they will know by your example to take care of their mental health and be able to let them know how proud you are that they recognized that things were a bit beyond their usual happiness. God bless you and your boys and Jill I’m thrilled about your gardening and Derek you will be getting ready for the bar soon. With the obvious love and respect you show for each other that is what’s important. Put yourselves first before family and your marriage will be golden. I’m very proud of you and thank you for sharing, it really helped.

I love this duo. They have come through so much growth together. Having been married for 30 years, I can say that that type of adversity and growth is the foundation of a great marriage. If you can survive hard times together and come out stronger in the end, your marriage is being forged in the fire of adversity and you can look forward to a great life together, no matter what happens around you. Edit - the early years are a struggle as you get to know each other as a married couple. But if you learn how to fight as Derrick says, by making it about an external problem that you both need to resolve rather than somebody's character flaw, you’ll find the experience SO rewarding. Promise to grow together and share your spouse's interests. God bless your family ❤️🙏✝️

It is really refreshing to see that she does seem to have a higher maturity level & just a stronger sense of what she is about. Looking back, Jill has always been an outspoken person. It’s just that in the past, she was sort of speaking on behalf of the family to represent their values, to toe the line. Given she was kind of the poster child, it is in a way shocking but also like good for her. She’s very careful not to bash her family, but all she is saying sounds pretty normal. There’s problems they need to heal but it takes time. She’s a grown woman and will do things differently than her parents. I am glad she seems to have a partner who will support her in that and has probably pushed her to step out & get her freedom from the past. She’s ultimately the same person but she just speaks a little more freely than she has before. It’s a kind of small change but it’s extraordinary to see. Also I love seeing this long form interview: gives you a better sense of who she really is and who Derick really is

Jill Is VERY open and honest. She seems to be in a good place right now w/ a good husband and 2 kids and a promising future. I like and enjoy all 5 of the older that I am familiar with. And John David always seemed like he would be a fantastic husband- he sure seems to love and treasure Abbie. and well.. ya know. Josh.. in 19 kids there has to be 1 or 2 bad apples.. that one seems rotten to the core

I like Jill and Derrick and their down to earth style, but I agree with you that she needs to let Derrick speak too. It was hard for me to keep watching this when he kept trying to say something and she wouldn't let him cut in, nor did she acknowledge any of the few words he tried to get out. She needs to become more aware and considerate in this regard.

I love how they don’t act like know it all’s and that they have all the answers, unlike Jill’s parents and many of her siblings. They’re open and frank about the fact that they’re always learning. And I especially appreciate that they haven’t started a podcast preaching to the rest of us. (Looking at you, Vuolos)

I'm not sure if that's about Josh's current actions or if it's more because of how she had to overcome his past abuse and wanted to make sure their boys have the knowledge and safety of knowing they can talk to their parents and ask for help if they need it and it's nothing they should be ashamed about if anything should happen. It sounds like they might be in therapy for like a year or more as they know the lingo and are more comfortable in their relationship. The catalyst might be that rift they had with the dugger parents two or so years ago. 🤷

Yeah, as I got older I started to see Jill as someone who was interesting to listen to because she had a voice and just was real. There was a time I thought she was not very sincere, and who knows maybe she hadn’t found the strength to be her most authentic self. She’s a young woman who was living in a very public family since about 14 years old... so I’m not judging. I’m proud of her actually. They’re just a solid unit. The good the bad, these two seem to just get each other and support each other. That I think is what her parents should be supporting for all they preach about marriage... Jill and Derick seem to be making it work.

I would love for Derrick to address his transphobic comments from a few years ago. I am hopeful that both Jill and Derrick's beliefs are evolving as they mature and grow. It's great that they have broken away from Jim Bob's control, setting boundaries, and raising their kids in a way that works for them... and hopefully not passing down some of the more toxic ideologies Jill was brought up with.

My kids an I personally have an open door policy. I have always told them, if you have a question no matter how big or small. In life about sex or so on. Come to me. I will always be honest with you. It was the best decision I personally ever made. So when other kids approached them they were like. No that’s not true. Or I’ll ask my Mom and kids were like wait what you talk to your mom about sex and relationships. Absolutely. Give the girl a break people. When she wasn't being home schooled by her Mama she was washing, cooking, ironing, babysitting while Mama was birthing her other 15 siblings after her. Hence the reason why she only had two children of her own. She's been there and done that her whole life.

They're raising their children though in the correct way and they have a normalized family between the two of them and they're probably trying to come together because they were raised differently and with everything that her brother perpetrated on the family and on her I believe she was one of them I just commend her for being strong and carrying on fighting back and she's got a supportive husband and they make a beautiful team

@@mgtrendel1 This is probably due to the home schooling curriculum Mommy Dearest used .They all use the words like,and , so.A good friend of mind was home schooled .She speaks nothing like them.They have more carpentry skills than grammar skills.What bothers me the most is they did not know that those contracts said they were volunteers ! So the book they wrote growing up Dugger all went to Daddy Dearest .

@@vernamorales2064 I'm sorry, I won't engage in your unkind and slanderous replies. I love the Duggars so much and homeschooling has nothing to do with it. The other kids don't speak like that, only Jill. It's just her way. I don't put her down, I just find it difficult to listen because I can't follow her thoughts easily. That's all I have to say and I feel sorry for you that you think It's ok to be so hateful and unkind to people with whom you disagree. Sad.

I wonder if @15:58 that was a sly jab at Jana who turned 31 in January & is not married? I hope not, but since Jana still lives with her parents my guess is if forced to take sides in their feud with Jill & Derrick, Jana will choose her parents. I hope the rumors of her courtship with Stephen Wissman are true so she can be free like the other married sisters who all seem to be thriving.

I think Jill said one time that of the people at home, she is closest to Jana. I always got the vibe Jana was unproblematic and good listener, the one person that people can reach out to because she’s nice and she’ll give you a chance to be heard. That all could sound like Jana sure, but I doubt Derick would feel like it is his place to comment on her life like that. She’s a grown woman and he’s a grown man.

Wow, Jim Bob and Michelle, I know Josh has broken your hearts but be encouraged, look at your other adult children. Obviously you planted a lot of good seed in their hearts, look at the fruit in their lives. They are very articulate. None of them seem to have a beat down self esteem attitude. Their critical thinking skills are admirable. Don’t beat yourselves up. You did a great job. No one does it perfectly.
