The fact is this year is easily shaping up to be the hottest year on record. It should beat out the previous record holder, last year, which took the title from the year before that. The fact is the climate is changing. This includes massive heat waves in California as well as floods in Texas... as well as snowstorms in New York in the middle of summer. Though, on average the Earth is warmer, the change wrecks havoc in the short term as the typical climate patterns are destroyed.

Cute, but maybe a little misguided: The average temperature across both the contiguous U.S. and the globe during climatological winter (December 2007-February 2008) was the coolest since 2001, according to scientists at NOAA's National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C. Also, "a halter top on" is ok, but a halter top off is better. Manhattan in March is like in January this year.

Satellite readings of temperatures in the lower troposphere (an area scientists predict would immediately reflect any global warming) show no warming since readings began 23 years ago. These readings are accurate to within 0.01ºC, and are consistent with data from weather balloons. Only land-based temperature stations show a warming trend, and these stations do not cover the entire globe, are often contaminated by heat generated by nearby urban development, and are subject to human error...

Why do people talk about global warming as if it were a political question? It's a physical reality, unfortunately for us. We might wish it were otherwise, but the physics of climate aren't affected one way or another by anyone's ideology. Cute song. (Though the way we've changed the climate won't make it warmer everywhere all the time; we'll probably see more extremes, including more blizzards.)

not really... BMW is one of the pioneers in environmental friendly cars. if you are an environmentalist you don't have to abandon cars, you just have to make them environmental friendly. It is not ironic at all.

This is why i hate youtube. I guess its a love hate i know theres intelligent people on here but when i see stuff like "GAY" and "she don't have tits so she's useless" etc... i thank god i can go to the actual TED sight and see intelligent people remark on these brilliant souls who attend this conference each year for the betterment of humanity. Even thought some of humanity does not deserve it.

I'm not convinced, the use of profanity, capitalization, nested/mismatched parentheses, paranoia, misanthropy, using the words "left" and "liberal" to insult, and self-contradictions makes me really think this is satire. The only things it lacks are poor grammar and spelling. Maybe I'm too cynical, I just don't think anyone would suggest that we should intentionally be irresponsible because if we move civilization underground, or something, we might be able to survive the consequences.

lol, there's just one thing she forgot, Manhattan will be under water when the ice pols melt so that picnic in the park would have to be on a boat ;) Seriously thou, this isn't funny.
