This is cool!! I will watch AS MUCH of this kind of stuff as you will put out lol. The most interesting thing to me would be hearing about the entire songwriting process for a whole song.
It's always amazing to see how much you can get out of very little if you're willing to throw your preconceptions out of the window. Not a chance in hell that anyone would notice it was recorded on a phone if you didn't highlight it.
I'm loving this content. So cool to see something that blends "behind the scenes" with storytelling and advice/tips. Been a fan since middle school and I'm old with kids now, so thanks for even MORE cool stuff!
Jim these behind the scenes videos are so awesome dude! I’ve been a huge fan since clarity and have been with you guys for every album since. Having this kind of access As a fan is So awesome. I look forward every day to hopefully a new upload! Thank you for the stuff dude
Wow that is funny that you had make the sound more lo-fi to fit what you imagined it would sound like. Really cool video and some interesting points about recording technology. Thanks for sharing!
Mind blown 🤯 that you got davey to just record and send it off his phone freaking love that part well that whole song but man I thought he like home studio or something and sent you it not off his phone 😆 and that’s so cool one mil was recorded like that! Definitely going to give it a try to record any ideas now! 🙏 do a Rick Beato collab for your pod or this he’ll be a great person to chat with!
Well it's unhealthy perfectionism, like the space your recording dictates a big chunk of sound, and as long as your phone doesn't distort the sound, you're good
I know right?! Things are so much easier now. I mean, everyone has $1000 computer in their pocket now. I’m actually surprised there aren’t interfaces to run mics so you can record multiple tracks and mix on a virtual board from your phone. (Or in GarageBand). I mean, even GarageBand is amazing software for free. Kids these days have no idea what it’s like to try to bounce tracks down from a four track cassette recorder.
