This is such a shame, Corny was perfect for that role, NWA have messed up big time. Powerrr was the first time in 20 years, that I started watching a weekly wrestling show. I am not up to date with sports entertainment, I only know Jericho is AEW champion, because I have been a Jerichoholic since 1997, but I would have to google any other current champions in aew, or wwe. Anyway, Powerrr seemed like a perfect show for me - the way it was. I will miss Cornette, now I can only carry on listening to him every week on his podcasts.. NWA, I don't know yet for sure, but it might be a "Thank you, fuck you, bye".

I think the joke was a bad call. It was a heelish thing to say, when he wasn't playing a heel announcer role; and it was an awkward way of getting Trevor Murdoch's toughness over. But that's all. A mild botch, easy to ignore. The overreaction is absurd even by today's standards, and the damage to the show lamentable.

With Cornette done, I no longer give a shit. I really tried to enjoy that product, but he was the best thing about it. I was only on the fence at best regarding their joke promos, and with this move it's overwhelmingly obvious that they're not taking themselves seriously. So why should I?

Jim, I respect what you are saying, but my bottom line is simple: when someone caves in to the crybaby mob, they don't deserve my attention. It's a shame it hurts other people, but I am sick and tired of the crybaby mob coming around, demanding the fun be sucked out of life and ruining things, and the only way to stand up to them is to show companies that 1) the crybabies are not actually your customers/viewers and 2) your actual audience doesn't want you to cater to the crybabies. If Dave Lagana caved on this, he will cave every time and so I can't invest in the program long term.

He's not one of these ass kissing, boot licking glad hands for McMahon looking for a job. He's forgotten more about the world of professional wrestling and these new age talents have ever remembered. Jim has paid his dues and he has the right to feel how he feels about the current world of pro wrestling. It ain't like he's lying.

Seeing Cornette, after YEARS of kayfabe animosity, celebrate the Rock and Roll Express' victory made me SO happy as a longtime SMW fan. They had a helluva house show here in Southwest VA, and I'm PRETTY sure pre brain damage New Jack was there.

I don't get the fans today. I've been watching wrestling for 35 years now. This is one of the best times since I was a kid for wrestling. Access to so much stuff. As a kid, we watched everything. WWF, NWA-JCP, AWA, WCCW, UWF, CWA, etc. We all had our preference, but we still watched it all. Today, you have the same thing. WWE, NWA, AEW, MLW, ROH, etc, and fans seem to have thrown support behind one or two. Fans complained for years they needed more to watch, now you have it and fans still aren't happy. I don't watch Raw or Smackdown because it just doesn't interest me, but anything else I find, I watch. If you have Amazon Prime, there is tons of good stuff on there. PCW, Best of the West, and a lot more.

It was great when Jim Cornette jumped into ring celebrating with Ricky and Robert. Great bookend to their over 35 years of wrestling rivalry. At least NWA has the decency to not show a match if they feel that it is of subpar quality. I watch WWE, AEW, and NWA, along with a few RU-vid indies, and not a single promotion is perfect. There are bits I like about all of them, and bits I don’t care for. The trick is to just take it all in stride and appreciate the fact that there are now decent alternatives to the monopoly that was WWE. I think the brand supremacy argument goes deeper than the argument itself, and is a perfect reflection of how divisive we’ve become as a society.

Jesus, five seconds into Jim’s views about the NWA finale and he’s blaming AEW fans for shit. Jim, hate AEW all you want, but in 2019 WWE would’ve let you go for it as well in a heartbeat, especially if there was some sort of backlash. It’s a company PR decision, not an AEW fan decision. If someone on your team says/does something some people might get up in arms for, and doesn’t apologize for it afterwards, then of course the company would distance itself from that person. Whether or not you agree/disagree with the line being offensive, here’s the truth: If this line happened on WWE, their PR team would’ve axed Cornette from the company even if he did thoroughly apologize.
