Imagine after Wrestlemania 3 after Hogan triumphs over Andre and is posing in the ring, a maniacal Bruiser Brody comes down and lays out Hogan!!! Make Brody a monster heel for a year and main event the next years Mania

If Bruiser had played along, yeah, that would've been amazing.

Had Brody lived, he would've tagged with Macho against Hogan and Beefcake at SummerSlam 1989.

My understanding is Brody would be difficult if it benefited him or was in response to his idea of being potentially screwed. For a Wrestlemaniamain event I'd guess he'd do business to get the big payday.

You can find at least one of the Hansen/Andre Japan matches on youtube. Even if you're not a fan of hoss matches, it's fun watching these two massive guys potato each other for 15 minutes

Nothing wrong with a good Hoss Match, with the right guys it can be better than the most high-flying acrobatic special

tmage23 Yeah dude. The match between Andre The Giant and Stan Hansen that's on RU-vid, that you mentioned, is their match from September 1981 in New Japan Pro Wrestling. That was a couple of months before Hansen left NJPW for All Japan Pro Wrestling, and showed up as the cornerman for the team of Bruiser Brody & Jimmy Snuka in their match against Dory Funk, Jr. & Terry Funk in the Finals of the AJPW Real World Tag League tournament in December 1981. At the time, that was a major move for Giant Baba against Antonio Inoki, because 6 months prior, June 1981, Antonio Inoki had got Abdullah The Butcher to leave to Baba and All Japan Pro Wrestling, and sign a contract to join New Japan Pro Wrestling. And that was a MAJOR move for Inoki and NJPW, because at the time that gave Abdullah The Butcher the largest contract in pro wrestling history. Sorry.....got off topic there. Matches from that era make me think of all the major moves being made by Baba and Inoki, and how equally great their promotions were due to Baba and Inoki constantly trying to one up each other. As for the match itself....i thought it was a great match. Seeing Hansen go toe to toe with Andre, not backing down at all, while going blow for blow with Andre was great. Very good psychology shown by both. Great mixture of brawling thrown in with stiff wrestling maneuvers by both. And the two of them went damn near 20 minutes. For a match like that, that says a lot about both wrestlers conditioning. Great match. Sorry bout the length of this comment man. I dig both those promotions, especially that era.

Hogan defeats André is celebrating the lights flicker and Brody comes out of the crowed gets in the ring thru the top rope Hogan looks up puts his hand out and Brody attacks him Hogan blades and bleeds, start of one year program of Brody having vines of doing things to Hogan outside of the ring then wrestlmania comes around and Hulk gets his comeuppance best booked match ever!!!!!!!

Bring Brody in for a Wrestlemania -- 4 or 5 -- have Fuji as his manager, loosely signifying the Japanese connection. Scary vignettes with Fuji talking and all you see of Brody is the arm, hand, shoulder and hair and the "HUS! HUS!" when Fuji is done speaking cryptically. "HE IS COMING....". Brody comes in on a Saturday Night Main Event, attacks Hogan, leaves him laid out and Hogan's participation in Mania is in doubt. At Mania, either Brody wins and then drops it at Summer Slam, or it's a one and done and Hogan wins a bloody fight at Mania. Brody makes $250 - 500,000. Or else. 🤣 I booked that match in my mind at least a million times in the '80's.

Have Brody sneak attack seriously injures Hogan where Hogan has to relinquish the title. Brody talks trash hypes up heat making fun of Hogan rehabbing to get back. His 1st match back is againist Brody at Wrestlemania. Brody during this time has became the Champ and bragged how he ended Hogan's career,hates Hulkamaniacs,hates kids,hates vegetables. The Showdown at Wrestlemania.

Could not possibly have seen this happening at all.brody was natorious for not selling to others much and they would have wanted Hogan to win every time they would have fought. And brody hated losing from what I seen and would have wanted some kind of disqualification ending.
@yardape99

Hogan lost by count out and DQ on plenty of arena shows. Studd, Macho Man, Adonis, Piper, etc. all held victories over Hogan when he was the champion if it meant they were coming back for a rematch or two at the same arena.

Hansen vs Brody would’ve demolished records in Japan!
@yardape99

Stan Hansen laid down for Hulk Hogan in Japan at a sold out joint WWF/AJPW show and he had a reputation for being tough to deal with too. I seem to recall in Brody's book either Buck Robley or Larry Matysik or maybe even Dave Meltzer were quoted as saying Brody would lose if it made sense for business; likely implying Bruiser would have to get paid well and not be destroyed. If Brody went to New York in 1988 for example, there was so much money to be made in the WWF in the late 80's with merchandise and events, why would he turn it down, if he was given an offer to switch companies? A good way to book it is to have Hogan beat Brody in some sort of gimmick match where he wasn't pinned. I don't ever recall Hogan doing a chain match and Brody was notorius for swinging a chain in Japan. Using it as a weapon against Hogan would be a great way of using it in an angle.. If it were a build up to a Wrestlemania, having a chain match would be a good change of pace to say a cage match which fans had already seen in a WM againt King Kong Bundy. Allows Hogan to win without pinning Brody

I think hansen did it with no problems cause he knew hulk for years they had a good relationship hulk even gave him a call to make a cameo in his movie, not mentioning the fact that he was getting a big payday.

And who didn't fear Brody? You either did business properly, or you had reality dawn on you from Brody (with Brody, his matches didn't have to hurt; but if you weren't doing business properly for him and blowing him up as a monster babyface, then he was going to make it happen the old fashioned way)...Hogan, almost wasn't any different than Brody; minus the aggression and the fact he didn't want to hurt anybody because I would imagine that it's bad for business in his eyes and it technically was except for those who enjoyed hardcore wrestling...Al Snow said it best that Hogan wasn't paid to take people down like he had been trained in wrestling by his trainer, Hogan was paid to be Hogan and you have to respect how long that brand still continues to last...

Would have been fine. Hulk isn't stupid to the business and he doesn't act too good for the boys and that was his problem with Lex. Hogan will politic but that's it. He would have shut down any talk of a match with Hansen due to his inability not to potato people.

Well Andre was OVER 40 at WM3!!! Brody was in PHENOMENAL SHAPE at over 40 years old! Brody vs. Hogan was the BIG MAN match that got away from us! Hogan has said one of his biggest regrets was not getting Brody on the big stage. Hogan faced many 300 pound guys in his run! But the guys like Brody, Hansen. Gordy, Abby. in that Golden Age run in the states would have UPPED the ante in terms of in ring ability (Brody, Hansen, Gordy) and violence (all four of them). But WWF wasn't built for that at that time!

The timing doesn’t work, this was smack in the middle of the mega powers run between wrestlmanias 4 and 5 so the only way to do it is to have Savage Drop the title to Brody at survivor series or the Rumble , paving the way for Hogan to be the hero at WM while keeping savage a babyface or to have the the Savage Turn in time for one of those pay per views and then having Hogan to pivot to defend the title agains Savage OR have savage defeat Hogan at one of those PPV with help from BB and have hogan Pivot away from the title for a grudge match against Brody.

Well Brody didn't like to put over younger local talent, and he gave promoters headaches (Brody knew precisely what he was worth and demanded every penny of it up front), but they put up with it because he was worth it. When Brody came to town he was Gold, fans lined around the block and down the street. But in the end Brody did do business, he wasn't like Mil Mascaras throwing shit-fits and refusing to sell anything

Bruiser BRODY'S feces his very last bowel movement has more integrity than all of hulk Hogan career put together BRUISER BRODY THE REAL WORLD 🏆🌍🏆 CHAMPION. He was ten times the athlete 10 times the performer 10 times the wrestler 10 times the brother 10 times the man than hulk Hogan ever was. That should have been Bruiser Brody at WrestleMania 3 against Andre that should have been Bruiser Brody in Rocky 3 not Hogan. To be completely honest Jimmy cornet he's damn lucky my Oregon brother Billy Jack Haynes did not break his goddamn Neck. Hogan's entire life is nothing but a work.
