I was at Grand Slam when they recorded Collision. They recorded his match before Dynamite and made us cheer and then all of the sudden Perry came out. I was pissed. I watched it later on TV (as I left 30 minutes after Dynamite ended) and apparently they had a video of Perry riding his weird Nirvana Bus and then cut to us cheering.
@@Hakeem990 I bought the ticket 3 hours before and it was like $15. And then Ticketmaster made it 30 dollars, and then I paid 60 dollar parking. Good question, but my only answer is "I'm only young and dumb once"
TBH, I think Punk wanted out for a while. Choking out Jungle Jackoff and lunging at Tony was the moment to escape the shit show that is AEW he was looking for.
On a somewhat unrelated note, my favorite Jack Perry moment was when some guys in the crowd chanted to him you got choked out, and he looked like he wanted to cry.
You would know since you study his body so much. What a joke. I bet you wouldn't say that to his face in person. Perry would beat the crap out of you. It's easy to hide behind a keyboard. Perry is bigger than you I'm sure.
Jack Perry looks like Mowgli to Jim Cornette's Baloo the Bear in this artwork, and Mowgli I believe would F Jungle 'Jack' tf up in a fight, which is ironic because Mowgli stars in "The Jungle Book" and Perry is "Jungle Boy" but is half the size of the actual 'jungle boy' Mowgli He needs to retire or become a permanent manager ffs
@@teecakes You are the only person that knows what that childish crap means. Keep your comments to yourself. You wouldn't talk like that in Jack's face. He would knock the nappy roots out of your head.
@@therev_sungyungmoon24 Bruh I get that Cornette’s comment section can get so extremely tedious with the cringey boomer humour that you have to call it out, but seriously; is Jack fkn Perry the hill you wanna die on?
Imagine thinking they had a huge star on their hands as a hardman mega heel, of this tiny man, because he got publicly handled backstage by another wrestler.
It's so insane that his entire gimmick is bc he got choked tf out like why would u make it his image. They could have done something with him and the rest of the elite and punk at the time it was hot but they didn't and now he just looks goofy he might as well go back to jungle boy but that's probably done bc he switched his entire persona. Then again it's aew where nothing matters so that could happen on a random episode of Collision
I told AEW fans to show pictures of Austin, Rocky, Perry, and Garcia to the general public. Who do you think woud people know? Austin & Rocky transcended wrestling and became part of pop culture.
I would love for this show to get through an AEW review without bringing up CM Punk. The fact that piece of backstage drama is still the biggest source of entertainment in AEW is really sad.
That's aew fault. This gimmick sounds so stupid. They never explained (for what I've heard) what the hell is this scapegoat crap suppose to be. Just hearing that Jack is playing a tough guy gimmick is as embarrassing as TK on the mic.
There’s a cool cover of that song by the band “Hidden Citizens” that I really enjoy too. Check it out if youve never heard it. 😊 it’s not the Stones, but it’s good.
It’s actually surprisingly relevant. Lio Rush used it as his entrance theme when he was doing a very similar “hard goth edgy badass ooooooooo” gimmick, despite being like 5’4’’ lol
It's simple Jungle Jack is the Bucks' Scapegoat. They used him to get Punk fired because none of the 2😸😸 had the balls to provoke Punk in front of Tony. So yeah Perry is the Scapegoat in the company losing fans. They won't blame the bucks they will blame Perry for Punk leaving. Simple as that.
But they explained that on Dynamite?? Because one thing is knowing information online and the other is the story told by the wrestlers, because when The Young Bucks showed the footage they never said "we wanted Punk out of our company"...
@romelmunoz7957 btw I don't think Jack knows why they called him Scapegoat. It's an inside thing between the 2 little 😸😸 and maybe Kenny knows also Jericho.Jack is too dumb to figure it out he just goes with it. These guys managed to get everyone who's serious out of AEW.
And not only is Perry not a draw, but he's a wimp. He wanted a guy fired over a fight or some insults.. he's so soft.. the opposite of what a wrestler is supposed to be.. and the fact that kahn is pushing a guy like that (and even having him on the shows and being competitive) is ruining kayfabe.. just like when he pushes Moxley (another soft guy, who also got dominated by a home depot worker in a jiu jitsu match)
@@maxxdahl6062it's like when trump b onbed/continued w ars in nine countries, and people say that trump was better than the previous presidents because he didn't start any news w ars. But continuing a w ar is just as bad as starting one..
Funny how you say that while at the same ppv he casually shoved a 300 pound Brody King off the top of the turnbuckle with the fakest looking push of 2024
Have they ever came out and said they were a "nahze"? Or did people just run with it because it was on cornettes channel? Also why would a white gang have yuta in it?.. do you people ever think for yourselves?
Come on man, this is a dude who headbutt people so hard that he gave himself brain damage. It should be celebrated that he hasn't done a Chris Benoit yet
LMAO this match sucked the fact that tony khan picked jack perry over CM Punk is laughable but hey it's working for punk since he's back in WWE doing big business while jack perry is wrestling in front of less and less people tony khan must be happy.
Charisma Vacuum Perry and Ratng Cancer Garcia are in a feud while Ricky Starks continues to sit at home. The crowd pumped for MJF's return only to be deflated by the return of ATOM SMOL! who looks like he's worked out even less the before.
To answer Jim and Brian's question, Jack is the scapegoat because Jack Perry and Tony Khan are both spoiled rich kids who never have gotten held accountable for anything so they have no idea what a scapegoat is
I know Jim won’t read this but I can explain Shibata. Shibata makes sense…. In njpw. He is “the wrestler.” He is the one throwback to a simple grappler in a world full of over the top personalities. He’s lack of gimmick was the gimmick. When everyone else is some crazy person, the one strait-laced guy stands out in the crowd. In AEW though, they already have 30 different wrestlers who are just plain ole wrestlers. So the uniqueness is gone.
The scapegoat thing might have made some sense if he had actually been fired and worked the gimmick on the indies, but once he's been rehired and the OTHER guy was fired, it's just nonsense.
What? People make fun of WWE belts, but Tony is an idiot for letting each owner of the belt have their own design, this is probably the weakest one yet, you can barely read the script on the front of the belt and it’s bland, it doesn’t shine or pop in what lights AEW keeps on during tv tapings
I absolutely loathe the "I stand there and you hit me then its my turn" that you see in every match. That combined with the phony forearm shots make me change the channel quickly. 'Wrestlers' nowadays don't know how to wrestle, they just do moves.
Remember in Pirates of the Caribbean when they couldn’t get to the island because the only people that could get there were the ones who already knew where it was located? It was like some kind of semi-funny, semi-mystical idea of “the only people that can ever find the island are the ones that already know where it is”. You’d swear that is Tony’s booking philosophy. The only people that will ever get it are the people that already get it and if you don’t, you won’t ever get it.
@@DVD2000x Go ahead and keep defending this bum Cornette. Do you know he has a criminal record past and he doesn't believe in GOD? Anyone that doesn't believe is GOD is pure evil. That is why he loves CM Puke, both non-believers, just evil humans.
I slowly starting to get Perry "scape goat" character but he didn't tell whole story yet. He escaped from goat witch triead to eat him and whole situation traumatize him so much that he decided to get every black idom and do every tough guy movie act he can pick up on. TK bought him A-Team van to cheer him up but i guess it didn't help.
Tony isn't just the first Wrestling company owner in history that isn't concerned about making money, he's the only one that is actively trying to lose it. He's doing a fine job.
This match was really bad. Jungle Boy is especially awful but Shibata wasn't really trying, it was just a terrible match from the start to the random flat finish.
I actually think AEW has some great talent that I’m higher up on than Jim is, but I think AEW is making a HUGE mistake by choosing to make Jack Perry of all people one of their “top stars”. Absolutely ridiculous move on their part
Part of me wants to see a new MJF-Perry feud. At least a promo so MJF can tell him "I'm so proud of you. I knew you had the potential to be this selfish twerp."
I had the same question about why he’s the scapegoat. It’s basically admitting that Punk leaving hurt them. Which is true ofc, but that’s not putting over anyone but punk.
The funniest part is the AEW Fans saying: "It was worth it to show the footage! Our Champion! CM Punk is in shambles right now🤓" This clown needs to realize that he ONLY is getting a push because of Punk, not because he have any talent.
I wish they'd talk about Jack-Off Perry's promo o Dynamite where he mentioned Shibata having a turkey leg in his pants literally sexualizing the man in a heel promo
Ratings Cancer Garcia and Charisma Vaccum Perry, yeah that is going to put butts in seats. Also I feel so bad that MJF still has to do this feud with ATOM SMOL
Well Cornette is going to have an very interesting podcast all week so stay tune ,get your popcorn and soda ready because it is going to be cool as Ice
I'm not a fan on spitting in dreams (and i don't remember to even having wrestling ones lately). I guess that spitting in matches was a vengeance on fans for not knowing famous Inoki chant.
At times I think TK specifically prioritizes pushing people who are small. Are any of the “pillars” even 6ft tall? One reason I stopped watching AEW is the people who get pushed I didn’t like and the people I like didn’t get pushed, kind of like WWE at one point, and nobody exemplifies that more than Jack Perry
Noone expected Jungle Shitter to lose to the Man with No Brain. It's just sad that this added to the clusterfuck ending of them continuing to push Ratings Cancer Garcia, at the cost of MJF's return... but also the return of ATOM SMOL! LAZY!
