Jim Cornette Reviews Jon Moxley vs. MJF at AEW All Out 

When Lance Archer won the battle royal it took all the mystery out of the championship match because it's not gonna be Archer vs MJF.

You can tell Jim Cornette still has a mind for the business. He's a major MJF fan and sees great potential with him.

AEW is "Moxley Unleashed". And it makes me realize why WWE kept him on a leash to begin with.

"This was a miss, and a giant exposure of what Aew is," sums up exactly how I felt watching All Out. I've been a big AEW mark from the start, enjoying a lot of what they do, believing them to be a positive force within the wrestling community, competition against WWE is good, blah blah blah. I genuinely think they've done some great stuff over the last year, but All Out was a tipping point for me. It was annoying when AEW kept leaning on these goofy high spots, but I could still laugh it off most of the time. After the Hardy situation, I'm not laughing anymore. AEW got me back into watching wrestling again, but they might be the ones to get me right back out again.

Whether or not you're a wwe, impact, aew, njpw, roh, mlw, czw, or any other promotion fan, the one thing we can all agree on is Tony Khan is way out of his league trying to control all aspects of that promotion. Letting Matt Hardy climb up a 20 foot lighting rig after suffering a very apparent concussion is proof of that.

The best thing to happen to AEW is Cornette..his reviews are hilarious. I only watch Wednesday nights nonsense so I can hear Cornette’s breakdown..hilarious!

AEW really is a let down from what I thought it would be.

Man I wish Pac was able to be there he would of been perfect to either take the TNT belt off of Cody or take the world title off of Moxley.

*CULT OF CORNETTE'S CORRECT* Unintentional emotional double turn - finish looked correct based on intent/expectation but was wrong emotionally based on the match.

That battered, bloodied heel challenger cheating so the babyface also cheated to win will work IF the champion is the fledgling superstar fighting against the veteran challenger. Picture this: if a bloodied heel Orton low-blowed Drew McIntyre, and when the ref didn't look Drew LOW-BLOWED HIM BACK before hitting the Claymore, I guarantee you the crowd would pop big for McIntyre. That's why ring psychology still matters folks. Corny is right that MJF is the babyface here.

Moxley's title reign has been so underwhelming. This should've been the end of it with MJF winning the title. A long title reign for MJF is what the company needs because he can be the dominant heel that everyone wants to see beat. Look at Jericho's title reign. The title felt like it deserved to be in the main event. Moxley holding it has just made it so midcard.

When Lance Archer winning the Casino Battle Royal sealed the deal onMJF losing . Even if they booked MJF strong , once I saw Lance’s win I know the match between him and Mox was happening

This was some of the funniest shit I ever heard..Jim Cornette was spot on..I don't always agree with him but when he's right he's right..

I saw the match and Jim was right. MJF was trying so hard to portray being a heel while he was out wrestling Moxley. And then in order to come back, Mox resorted to heeling on MJF outside on the floor. MJF did work the arm but there were times where it looked like hope spots for the kid rather than cutting off his opponent. And when they were nose to nose trading blows I saw more fire and defiance in MJF's eyes rather than Moxley's. Again if it wasn't for Maxwell's body language at times and he pretty much yelling "I'm the heel here" you wouldn't have known by the in ring action alone. In essence what they had was a match using the ECW [or CZW] frame of mind. In those companies it was an occasional trope to have a heel that wrestled by the rules while the babyface would be the one resorting to garbage tactics. Steve Corino early on was known for that. And when Cactus Jack was a heel I remember he once wanted an Olympic style wrestling match. And as the referee was trying to explain the rules the 'babyface' simply disposed of the human zebra and he forced jack into a street fight. While not as exaggerated here, you can see the template rather well in this match. So maybe Corny would've been wrong about the crowd response unfortunately.

All out was average. The main event match between MJF and moxley was good, shida vs thunder rosa was great. The tag title match was good but all the other matches were poor. It was certainly the worst pay per view AEW delivered but not one of the worst pay per view of all-time like Brian last says. I have seen WWE to deliver far worse pay per view.

It’s such a bizarre wrestling philosophy; the more of a traditional wrestler you are, the bigger heel you are. MJF, Spears, FTR, Cage, Jericho, Pac, etc. Even Cody can’t help but tween even though he’s the biggest babyface in the company.

It’s like Mox either can’t work in the ring or didn’t want to work with MJF. I’ve never seen Mox do anything in the ring that blew my mind.

MJF should be the champ. I understand relying on the made name but for gods sake, use your homegrown talent. I want to say that MJF would’ve been better served signing with WWE but we all know that could’ve gone bad. But with how much talent is in his left pinky finger, he may have blown up all on his own. Hopefully he starts having better matches that make sense. Stand up to Mox and just say “dude, that’s not gonna work”. One day, just keep the faith that one day MJF is given the credit and accolades he rightfully deserves.

If Tony Khan and the ELITE were smart and swallowed their pride they would throw huge money at Cornette to come in and run a big Angle for 6 months or more!!!! I know Jim says he wouldn't do it but if that happened AEW could possibly learn and correct some of this mess!!! But Jim doesn't belong in a company with Stunt, Janella, or some of these other ass clowns. Week by week AEW is falling apart and even though Jim Cornette could fix it they would never listen or learn......

I liked Dean Ambrose in The Shield and as the loner in WWE but he's right back to being what he was on the Indy Scene plus being Stone Cold Cosplay.

As a normal fan I don't always agree 100% with Jim. But there's a whole new appreciation for his knowledge and skill, when as he narrates how a crowd would've felt and reacted to the match, you felt the same way during the PPV. Just didn't know how to put it into words.

THANK YOU for mentioning the dive. We can't have one match without it happening these days. And not to mention, most matches have it happen several times, smh. Would love to see some wrestlers start doing some old school moves that people don't really use now. A dove once in a while is fine. But man, people are really using it way too much! And I will say that in AEW I do wish that they would mix up who comes out first or second on entrance to the ring. As far as who will win or lose. Cause they always have who will win and who will lose come out the same as every other match.

Man, what can I say? I think Jim is a little too hard on AEW sometimes. They are trying to start a company from the ground up on national tv with mostly inexperienced talent. That is a difficult, if not impossible, task. I think he is too hard on certain wrestlers, like Sonny Kiss. That being said, the shows should be much better than they are. They have Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Dean Malenko, and Billy Gunn working with these guys behind the scenes. Anderson, Blanchard, and Malenko are three of the best in-ring talents in history. Gunn was always solid, and certainly knows how to get over, yet they appear to have little to no influence on the in-ring product. I don't understand it. This promotion is essentially having to start up with the few people that WWE didn't sign, or didn't use. That puts them at an extreme disadvantage, but they do have some talented performers, and they should be showing some improvement by now. Though I think Jim is too hard on them sometimes, I can't say that he is wrong. I agree with most of what he says. It's really frustrating. I desperately want AEW to succeed, but they really need to get it together fast. They are running out of time if they want to be taken seriously as a major player in the industry. They are getting close to Impact territory.

I'm a big AEW fanboy, but I think im done with AEW. I Did not watch it live, just read comments while it was going on. Most of the AEW fans hated it..There only hope was the Kenny turn and even that was done wrong. Sunday I tried to watch a free stream of the ppv. I could not make it thru the Young Bucks match. If you seen one Bucks match you seen them all. Tried watching other parts but gave up.
