@@djdarq6311As opposed to the grandpas who dont actually watch the product but still eat Rock’s meat from 20yrs ago. Im a millennial who grew up on the attitude era but the whole point of Wrestling is to evolve. The Babyface of now should be more over than the ones of yesteryear. Thats just common sense.
From what I get of Cody storming out with no music saying this is BS was telling you that he had a change of mind hearing Rock and Roman and feeling like Rocky manipulated him when he was seeking council for his own agenda
Cody definitely needs to cover for that on television and tie that all up. even if it is well Rock made one deal with me and he went back on it so I changed my mind.
Exactly! We’re meant to think he’d been leaned on by The Rock and “the board” or whoever to let The Rock have Roman Reigns, and he should pick Seth instead. But now he’s stood up to them. But l think it will turn out to be a ruse by Cody and The Rock to fool Roman, and Rock will turn on Roman at WrestleMania to ensure Cody wins.
They really have done the impossible and it's great...Vince killed it, and 2 generations later, Triple H resurrected it. The Internet broke itself screaming about this whole thing for a couple of weeks and I was thinking "wow, they really haven't ever seen a work before in real time" Great piece of business I'd say.
And why the anger about getting worked?! This is exactly what we should all want them to be able to pull off! To work us and keep us guessing and wondering. This is great!
This was absolutely sensational from beginning to end. It felt like a big UFC event with a WWE Twist. Felt real. Lines felt properly blurred. Kayfabe resuscitated, at least for a short time. What a beautiful worked shoot.
Roman’s story is insecurities. Seth may look ridiculous but he pulls it off. Cody left wwe and did everything on his own. Rock really is the head of the table. The USOs are the ones providing for the family.
@@EmberwindTaleOne of my cousins says the same thing(Suffering Succotash) about Cody because he talks with a lisp! He says “Daffy Duck” can’t be the champion 😂
This was my only negative is they make Seth look like a clown in all of this, well more than he already does. I do hope that changes and we get him vs DM Hunk, at Mania.
Naw. The tree says otherwise. It's how they wind up rock/roman next year. Rock tried to protect roman from cody. Cody was falling for it. Cody can take the belt but not the tribe from.roman. Cody was hoping rock would take the tribe from roman. Turns out roman is cool with that coz it protects him from cody
nope -- he knows people know about his & the rest of the "entertainment" industries BS. You think this shit with McMahon is just going to end here? Oh no....we haven't seen anything yet. This is not just in wrestling. I would bet Cornette could tell you that one.... probably why he stayed on the outside after a certain point. Dark side of the ring is barely a drop in the bucket of what has gone down with the scandals in just "wrestling" let alone the entire entertainment industry. All anyone needs to do is look at all the Freemasons involved in wrestling, especially around the Benoit "murder/suicide".
I think CM Punk should be thrown into this mix too. It would be so cool not only to see him confront The Rock, but Roman too. And Punk would fit in the story. The Punk-Rock situation back then was the same exact situation as this one. But the difference was this time the main event changed and last time it didn't. The reason for that was because too many fans wanted Cody to main event. But if it wasn't for Punk's pipebomb and the aftermath, would that have happened (this many fans wanting Cody in the main event)? I don't think so... A CM Punk quote to an AEW wrestler back when AEW was still good and was trying to topple WWE- "Remember, those roads you traveled to get here, they were paved by me. This house that you built, it was constructed with lumber from trees that I chopped down...".. Since Roman is going to have The Rock in his corner, Cody should have Punk in his. That feud would be the perfect start to this new era..
what really made the moment was the Rock in the background was still on stage and heard Punk, so he stopped and started yelling at Punk who probably thought Rock already walked off the stage. Totally one of those situations where everyone gets quiet and you realize the person you're shit talking is right behind you.
@@Brook11223 That’s not accurate at all. 😂 Punk has said in multiple interviews that he and Rock are cool and that he enjoyed working with him. Rock even has his cell phone number and called him years ago in the middle of a Raw taping in the middle of the ring. So there’s no animosity there, and if there ever was, it’s not there anymore.
His best part to date. He's a natural. Cos he doesn't like being booed! Duanes always been about Duanes brand and fuck everybody else. He also got a lot of boos too!
This whole thing was one of the most unique and entertaining things ive ever seen in wrestling. Punks live mic commentary with The Rock and Reigns listening to it was icing on the cake. So great.
They forgot to mention the line Cody had about "What does it matter who's the head of the table, when neither one of you have been doing any of the cooking for two years?" Overall, this whole thing was fantastic. Kinda felt like their version of a UFC press conference with two of their top guys. And CM Punk definitely did steal the show at the end 😂😂
WWE leaning into the UFC style press conference stuff is great. For the first time in years - I have no idea what the road to wrestlemania looks like, it’s chaotic and I love it!
Triple H is the man. I almost wish he was doing the booking sooner. He would have turned Cena heel and back at the right times. Roman's heel turn made WWE bigger than ever, so it's proof that your top guy can be a heel and the program can still be good AND profitable.
None of this is from Bugeye Gerwitz. He’s too busy rehashing his old comedy bits for the Rock to trot out like he’s Dan Snyder trotting out the corpse of Sean Taylor
Which is nuts. Cuz I'm born and raised Lahaina. And literally everyone of my coworkers who lost their homes have been getting money every month from his and Oprah's foundation.
A family member being on a family tree? Say it aint so. They already used the new rookie bloodline member story arc on Solo. Doing it again with some even more green like Jacob is low IQ. If any new bloodline members show up, it should be the elders who are a higher rank than The Rock.
An amazing "piece of business" as they say. Some of the best stuff I've ever seen. Rock & Roman are a MONEY PARING! They left Zilla Fatu off the list. He's Umaga's son. To be fair, he's only in his first year of wrestling.
They left off a few and if they're doing the Bloodline honestly a few would be considered on the outs. So I mean I'd probably bring Jacob in against the Bloodline that way to play off the longer road he took and him earning it on his own. Though Zila's a hard gauge, speculation would be he's signed already, so they're possibly trying not to spoil a debut.
Yeh, they tryna runs games to dodge cody. Rather than fight like a man. This is new level outside interference to keep the belt. Cody at first got tricked that rock would take the tribe from roman. And rock did. But roman is cool with that coz it protects him from cody. 1 situatuon roman is putting both on the line. The other he is sacrificing one to save the other. After cody takes the title roman eventually challenges rock..its.not rock challenging roman
Finally an intelligent person yeah it was always the bloodline story not cody story and the bloodline story now is entering a new chapter with the rock in it Cody is just there to build up rock vs roman and Cody will lose again to roman@@chuckles9767
That's a fantastic point and it hints that the Rock is even worse than Roman which could lay the groundwork for their match maybe at next years Mania. It seems crazy to imagine it and would have sounded ridiculous to say it even a month ago, but maybe when that match eventually comes it's a babyface Roman having learned the error of his ways against a crazed tyrant Rock. Maybe the Tribal Chief becomes the Tribal Rebel or Tribal Avenger.
One thing about the Rock, -hes never been afraid to turn heel or put someone over. (He even turned heal with Hogan in the middle of the match) i respect how humble he is as far as giving to the business.
@@Jewety The Rock never once won the title at Mania. The main event of WM 2000 by rights should've been Rock vs. Triple H, with Rock beating him for the belt.
@@clusterflick6333 I agree 100%. No way it should have been a 4 way elimination match. Now that I think about it, I don't think Rock ever really won clean in those title matches against other Maineventers whether he was heel or face.
These days, just spitting that out makes the Rock gasp for air. He looks like he’s about to have a heart attack now. Gets blown up cutting a promo!! Even Ultimate Warrior never got that gassed.
I think they pretty much addressed Cody's initially giving up his WrestleMania spot on the SmackDown the next day with Triple H's promo, where he said The Rock does not have any sort of power regardless of whatever seat he holds in TKO. They might have to spell this out for everyone as the story progresses, but the reason why Cody almost gave up his spot is because Rock falsely pulled a powerplay him.
Come on mate, this was exactly what they’ve planned from the start! The idea that they panicked and somehow made ALL THIS up in a couple of days, just because some fans got enraged on the internet, like some fans do all the time, is just ridiculous. This is a phoney heel turn by The Rock in collusion with Cody Rhodes, to fool Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman, and take down the Bloodline at WrestleMania.
Best wrestling segment I've seen in a very very long time. It actually felt like wrestling again. Not just any wrestling but the greatest. It's funny how every time WWE produces segments like this they involve Cody.
@@demonsuckafucka6828Cody left aew because of 2 things, he didn’t like where the company was heading with the young bucks and Tony. And they wouldn’t offer him a fair amount of money even though he was a founding EVP. Similar situation happened with Aj styles and Dixie Carter in TNA
This made me go from not caring about the mania main event to being insanely excited to see what happens, and that’s a good thing. This made alot of people change their mind and get excited, this was genuinely excellent business. So different, so real, so refreshing and it’s just adding to the realness they want and will make Cody a bigger star going into mania this time
@@missklassikiya if the frame is Cody beating Roman, I don't give a damn what picture I see. I don't think Rock wanted to be booed as a face. That's a bad image. Wrestling or otherwise. Rock booed as a heel, well the optics on that can be spun into him being good at what he does. As long as Roman drops the title to Cody at Mania I'm happy.
Hhh had cody lose to Roman last year. So he was never the answer. All they had to do was put Cody over last year. They had Cody win Rumble again and they tried Rock vs Roman afterwards. Fans rebelled afterwards and Rock knew. So he went heel. Rock has always made sense in his presentation..thats how the pivot happened.
@pleaseshutup7053 nah kid, they buggered it up and had to pivot big time, if it was planned the Cody line about finishing the story later wouldn't be out there as a loose end.
@@pleaseshutup7053Just "Not at Wrestlmania" but now after backlash that has suddenly changed? Not a work 😂 you think WWE is infallible, it's hilarious
If Matty and Nicky hadn't been such crybabies AEW would have beaten WWE to this kind of angle and been in much better position viewership wise than they are now. But they didn't so they can continue to enjoy their 'victory' in empty arenas and being the lowest viewed segment every week.
The Rock on the board with HHH running the promotion opens all kinds of storyline possibilities... They have a long history of backstage heat that can feed into the angle
Under Paul wwe has been amazing they listened to the fans an pushed la knight , they listened again here . There long term story telling has been immaculate the Sami Zane bloodline . The drew heel turn has been amazing
Triple H is smart enough to realize that we can make alot of money off this we can turn Rock heel and make Cody a massive babyface.... even more then he already was.
OMG the thumbnail! I wish we could buy copies of the thumbnail artwork for Jim's You Tube Channel on Jim's website. I'd love to see the artwork on T-shirts we could buy on Jim's website too. 😂
This was everything, it was amazing. We got Rocky where he belongs, a bastard! Cody standing up and solidifying his commitment to finishing the story. We got a showcase of someone, hopefully HHH listening to fans and course correcting, giving us reasons to KEEP investment in the product rather than just give up because there is no point. We got Big E & Punk, being entertaining as heck and Punk looked so damn happy! Though that might just be because it's hard to be anything but, with E around. This was how you build a main event, using Rock's celebrity and legacy in the business, to draw in outsiders and show them "this is the big thing you need to pay attention to" It did so much for Cody, I can't wait to see the fan reaction come Tuesday for me. Edit: I don't like all the talk of the "tag match night 1" Cody and Roman should never be in a match together until it's time to fight for that belt. Night 1 tag match won't kill the heat for it, but it will effect it heavily unless they don't ever touch during it. Save the tag match for post mania, use it to fuel the rivalry between Rock and Roman, and have them explode and have their BIG TIME main event, at Summerslam. They want that to be a second Wrestlemania, that's the match to show it.
100% disagree that they were going with Rock and Roman instead of Cody and backtracked. What happened here is what was supposed to happen. HHH and company knew perfectly well that the world wanted Cody and Rocky is not the egomaniac that people like Brian claim he is especially when it comes to the business. Rocky has never been afraid to go heel and knows what the business is about.
Rock told McAfee that the engame didn't change. They'll just take a different route to it. Tag match at EC, Rock wins it by pinning Cody, Roman turns on him afterwards. So we get Rock vs Roman on Night 1 and Cody vs Roman on Night 2.
This was excuted perfectly and it got me hyped up again for WrestleMania 40 plus the rest of the lead up. I am glad they pivoted seemingly. I wonder if Tony Khan was fearing for his life when CM Punk was talking about punching people.
They’ve been knocking it outta the park with storytelling recently. I hope they keep it up. I’m even invested in the Bailey storyline! (To be clear: I like Bailey. I’m just surprised there’s layers to this thing. Like when Asuka & Kairi finally attacked Bailey, Io had this look on her face like “No! I don’t want this to happen!”. She almost wanted to say “watch out!” to Bailey right before they attacked. It’s simple wrestling storytelling, but it’s **really** good stuff!)
All this does is reenforce to the twitter marks and the Dave Legreca's of the world that throwing a big enough temper tantrum will change the booking. It's pathetic.
@@brainthebrian3690 See, this is the bullsht logic that i have a problem with... we have no idea what was going to happen between Rumble and Mania... zero clue... all we have is assumptions. During the first promo when Cody called out the Rock, he clearly did it reluctantly, he had strong emotion on his face, and after everybody lost their mind he specifically told them "trust me." Which in my mind immediately seemed as if they were going to go with the whole "Rock used his stroke to strong arm his way in" angle anyway... But now EVERYBODY is just coming to the conclusion the their literal tempter tantrums changed the outcome. Its childish... its pathetic... and its completely irrational. These people need to get a grip. Imagine this many people getting worked up because a TV show left you with a 1 week cliffhanger... its embarrassing.
@@brainthebrian3690 I understand that fans are conditioned for disappointment because of the way Vince has handled things for the past 15 years or so, but fans really need to stop with the knee jerk reactions. If they want to pretend to be booking experts and want their btching on twitter to effect booking there is already a company for that... and we can all see how good that booking strategy is working out for them.
I'm shocked Jim and Brian didn't know about the Blood Oath between Peter and Amituanaʻi Anoaʻi. It's extremely well documented over the year; I'm pretty sure it's even in The Rock Says.
This is the most realistic heel rock I've ever seen. Hollywood Rock was a good heel, but he was over the top. This is bad ass heel rock and so far I'm enjoying the hell out of it
McGregor was a cartoon. He can thank Ric Flair for his entire act. Mediocre fighter who was heavily protected by Daddy Dana, the matchmakers, and the Joe Rogan hype machine
