No one cared about the problems we lived with in Northern Ireland for 40 years. I don't care about skin colour matters or lives. I care about my own life. I treat people how I'd like to be treated. I am respectful to every one as it does not need to be earned. If every person took the same view people would fit alot better.
saw you 30 odd years ago in bournemouth doing the chalky routine, blacks and whites in the audience, and all i can remember is everyone pissing themselves laughing but we all had a sense of humor back then
I remember "The black and White Minstrel Show" on TV. I could never understand the reasoning for removing it. It was not meant to be belittling to black people. It was a celebration of the music of an era. OK, so whites, blacked up. Wasn't this also a tribute? White people, actually wanting to look black. The sincerest form of flattery. So now we have the MOBO awards. Where are the MOWO awards? I guess 1978 was the start of the gross hypocrisy.

GINA It was a humorous reference to the sirens on the Police Cars which went Nic, Nic and also the little blue flashing light which I personally always associated with the Policemen’s helmets because they were a similar shape to the blue light. It is difficult to explain, you had to be there really but Jim with his descriptive gestures was hysterically funny and was taking the mick out of the Police but always all in good humour nothing nasty about it. I am not sure all the Policemen saw it that way though. I think the Police May have got there own back on him when they caught him speeding or some such offence. Jim liked the odd tipple.
Same here, first saw Jim in the mid-70's at a nightclub in Manchester. He engaged with every racial and sexual type in there, his 'Chalky' character and stories / jokes had EVERYONE there laughing out loud - 45yrs ago, and he's still as funny and NOT racist now same as he wasn't racist then.................

Jim is 100% spot on. We do need to start loving one another. But unfortunately people prefer looking at the smartphones all day rather than interacting with other people. As good as a smartphone is, I think the world would be a better place without them

A brilliant comedian with common sence. He says it as it is. Some of the young generations are over sensitive and grow up with a chips on their shoulders. When I was growing up you got a smack round the ear and told to get over yourself. To have an opinion on anything today is scary. How long is it before we have public stoning and ducking stools?

I once went to see Bernard Manning at Blackpool and his warm up act was a drag queen, who was very funny guy too. They both did some racist/sexist jokes, and they were funny, as they were just jokes. Something these young people will never see live anymore. So sad some are offended by jokes.

When I was a kid, I grew up hearing my parents talking about what life was like during the Second World War. Spending the nights in a cramped little Anderson shelter in our back garden, coming out in the morning only to find the next street had been bombed and the neighbours blown to bits. THATS stress, THATS anxiety. The difference now is that kids suffer mental health problems when someone blocks them on Facebook, or they don’t get all A* results in their A levels. Something is so seriously wrong with this world that at 66 years old, I’ve had enough. The only thing keeping me here is my lovely wife, son, daughters and grandkids. Everyone else can go and #**# themselves. You guys are telling the truth; please keep doing it until they shut you down.

I saw Jim at The Comedy Bunker in Ruislip golf club last year and he was hilarious. He is so clever at being funny and relevant and I couldn't have been happier when someone got offended at something he said and Jim explained that "its just a fucking joke" and then asked them why they came and what they were expecting . Makes me sad to think he is the last of a dying breed of truly great comics .

Jim is a normal guy - I’m fed up of people saying “you can’t say that anymore “ so I repeat it and let them know I can and just did. The reason I say it is because we all need a sense of humour.
