Go inside the radio booth, as the voice of the Browns Jim Donovan, and Browns alumni Doug Dieken, call the Browns victory over the Steelers to enter their first playoffs in 18 years. #RadioCalls
Me too. My father was also a Cleveland sports fan. He never got to see the Cavs winning the 2016 Finals, or the Browns back in the playoffs. Sorry about your father. Both our dads are watching in heaven. ❤️
I got a lump in my throat watching the CBS stream when Baker got the first down. I'm pretty sure I would have been full-on crying had I been listening to this call.
Thats because he is a true browns fan and a true browns fan knows its not over time the time clock says 0:00 so happy for the team and the fans even if we dont win next week its still a accomplishment all we wanted to see was them go to the playoffs this year
@@andrewtrask9650 True, that (about not celebrating until the game is over). In the wildcard game, when they got to 28-0 I was more convinced they would lose than I was when the game started.
Jimmy really loving it and making great call........and Doug what a meaningful head nod and a muffled "uh huh".....now thats a broadcasting team!....reminds me of the Movie Major League with Bob Euker.
Similar story line too. A franchise that has been nothing in the past 2 decade and then after so much drama and turmoil throughout the years they finally had their moment. Nice job Cleveland 👌
I’m so happy for the entire City of Cleveland and fans around the world but Jimmy D is the one I’m most happy for! Love listening to you every weekend and couldn’t possibly imagine a game without him! Go Browns! God Bless all! Playoffs? PLAYOFFS!
And he spent about 10 of those years, while the team was terrible, battling cancer. He's the person I'm happiest for outside of my immediate family. Nothing would make me happier than seeing/hearing him call a victory next Sunday.
Man, do we have a helluva announcer. Glad to see you excited Jim. I know your energy makes the rest of us browns fans get excited too. It's been one of a kind season.
crazy that we made the Playoffs, but what i feel will be forgotten is how crazy good the AFC was this season that all the wildcard teams were 11-5. the dolphins missed out on the playoffs at 10-6 in a year where there were seven possible playoff spot. that's high key an insane conference to have to play in, and the fact that the Browns we good enough to make the playoffs in a year where there were so many excellent teams fighting for all 7 spots practically all season long, is actually an even more incredible achievement than most people will give them credit for.
@@professorstiles7987 it helped. But really, who thought that they would be THAT bad? That they would be the Tank Division? We almost had a division winner with 6-10
Takes me back to when Jim Donovan was casting that game against the Falcons back in 2002 and shouted "Run William Run" when William Green busted a 60 yard run for a TD. That was such a glorious moment and it feels good to be back in the playoffs.
The last time the browns time the browns made the playoffs me and my dad went to that playoff game in Pittsburgh I lost my dad but what a joyous feeling
Big fan all the way from New Zealand here, and for a long, long time, all I ever got were these two voices commentating on the games early monday mornings while i worked! Pure passion and dedication to the team. Absolutely love their voices. Music to my ears!
This was a great win and it helped clinch a playoff spot for the Cleveland browns and I was at my brother in law mom and dad's house watching this game with my friend Kim and I immediately started crying when the browns clinched a playoff spot and a few years later my friend Kim passed away from her battle with cancer and today I still miss her 😟😟😟😭😭😭and this was by far the best thing I ever experienced with my friend Kim and it's a happy memory I will hold onto forever and I have a few more memories as well
Love you, Jim Donovan!!! Thank you for your patience, for your work following the Browns and for lending your voice to Our Hometown Playoff-bound Cleveland Browns.
We love you Jim and Doug , we turn the volume off on the tv and listen to you guys on the radio when possible ( sometimes its not synced up ) and its so much better than the tv announcers who can be at times not big Browns fans ! So thank you Jim and Doug for the absolute best commentary in Browns history keep it up !!!
I do the same. I now live in Southern Indiana and I pause the TV until the radio catches up. Listening to Jim and Doug and watching it on TV is the only way to do it. Many thanks to Jim and Doug. God bless and Go Browns. WOOT WOOT WOOT
Congratulations Browns from a Vikings fan🎉 Now that the Vikings are out I’ll be rooting for Stefanski and the Browns in the playoffs!....P.S. Doug looks like the manager Lou Brown from that movie Major League 🎬
same here...rooting for stefanski and his browns team...amazing that stefanski took the browns into the playoffs in his first year after the browns had almost a 20yr play-off drought...and i remember there were alot of fans and some browns media that didnt like the stefanski hire...cant wait to watch the browns next week against the steelers. win or lose, the browns looks like a double digit win and a play-off team for years to come.
@@deontewells7567 people were asleep in my home during the 1st (non US citizen), I was biting my tongue Otherwise I would lose tottally and wake my mom
You can see his hands shaking when they knew the game was over. You knew he just wanted to scream and cheer as a fan but had to be professional. I really hope he was able to get it all out after the broadcast was over. They both deserve that
I was thinking about this earlier...didn't Casey Coleman take over first? Looking back on it, I wasn't fair to either of them, since I blamed them for not being Nev (especially Coleman, whose style was so different from what I had grown up with).
He couldn’t carry Nev Chandler’s microphone. No body and I mean No BODY, called the Browns games better than Nev. Rest In Peace Sir, we know your looking down from heaven, with a smile on your face.
Not gonna lie I've been a fan for about 40 years im 46 and this one jus about made me cry happy tears !! WHAT EVER HAPPENS this was a great and successful year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!DAWGPOUND NATION!!!!!
I have been a life long Browns fan since the day I was was born in 75. It's never been easy being a Browns fan but thank you. I am excited about this team!!
Such an incredible guy. Such an incredible atmosphere. Such an incredible time to be from Northeast Ohio as a Browns fan. Thank you Jim Donovan for lighting up my excitement just now watching that
Honestly when they won the game to clich the playoffs I thought about all the fans that I knew that passed away before this moment happened. The news casters the fans like big dog some of my personal friends as well. It's time to celebrate cleveland, for the team and the fans that's here and the ones that 's moved on. Go Browns it's been way too long
I've never met Jim but I can tell you this city loves him and so do I. His passion is not matched anywhere. It was emotional for me when his voice started to tremble when he said "the only thing that's missing is all of you." ☹️ Love you Mr. Donavon.
Lifelong Bills Fan here - Congratulations to Cleveland and all the Die-Hard Browns Fans. 18 years is a LOONNNGGG time. We felt your pain. SO happy for you. Now go kick some butt against the Steelers!!
What a call. Browns fan in WNY, game was not on in my area so lived and died on every call with Donovan and Dieken. Special moment to share with my daughter who loves the Browns and has never seen a Browns playoff game!!
I love Jim Donovan I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with him out Berea last year for Rookie Mini camp opening day. He’s down to earth n loves Cleveland and loves the Browns
Jim donovan is the best and I said before the season 10 and 6 or 9 and 7 and we went 11 and 5 GREAT 😉IF I HAVE TO LEAVE CLEVELAND FOR MY BROWNS AND CAVS CAN ACHIEVE I WOULD DO IT AGAIN YESTERDAY 💯✊👊☝️GOOOO BROWNS FROM ODOGG FROM CTOWN N RALEIGH NC 151ST St. BARTLETT FOR LIFE ☝️
(Seahawks fan) congratulations Browns! Really amazing to watch what this team means for the team, the fans, and the city of Cleveland. Hope you guys win it all!
Saints fan, here. I'm truly happy for you guys. And while the Saints organization has stabilized greatly over the last 15 years or so, I never forgot how hard it was to get out from our own shadow. In the NFL, for a long time New Orleans was basically Cleveland south. Here's to hoping you guys stay prosperous. Hopefully we meet in the Super Bowl either this year, or the years to come. We both have young players (Brees aside). The sky is the limit, Browns fans.
Congratulations 🎉🍾🎊🎈 !!! This is coming from a Saints fan for years and years. I understand the heartache and the frustration. It’s your turn now ! I’ve been hoping you would turn the corner for years. 18 years ! You deserve a party. Unbelievable about your coach and some players with Covid19...my God. Haven’t you guys been through enough.
Honestly had to hold back tears listening to this again....my eyes are still dried out from yesterday. I've been a fan my whole life, my 21 year old son has been a fan for his as well. I am so happy that we had this moment together, something I will never forget. Thank you Coach, Baker, Chubb, Juice, Myles, Hunt........ Thank you Browns! much love! Go get em!! O- H- I - O !!!
I love this. Congratulations. OU football fan here that has become Browns fan since picking Baker. Whether you like him or not he is serious about winning. He will do whatever is needed. He is maturing and I believe will continue to improve. Great player, great coach, great team. Heinz field is looming but lets see if there is still some magic in this season. Regardless, they will be competitive for years to come.
