What helps me, is to fully make the track, master it the best you can, and come back to it a few days later. If you've been working on any track for too long, your ears adjust to the high-shelves. It's nice to refresh and come back.
I used FL for years. Just started using Logic a few months ago. And already I'm in favor of Logic over FL. But, it really does come down to the individual, and what they're personal preference is.
No disrespect, i have heard a lot of tracks produced by Jim Jonsin, some of them are dope (lil wayne lolipop or ti whatever you like). but im not feeln this one, my production are way better than this beat he started.

No the problem is that he put 4 sounds together and people automatically start judging it. And until you hear the finished product, you dont how good of a track it is!
I was having a pretty difficult time in the beginning, as well. You just need to get used to not having the "Bubbles" for your drums... And, if you don't already, start chopping your own drums. But, what I like about it the most, is: The mastering. You should look into iZotope plug-ins. Also, try recreating a few songs (The best you can) That helped me quite a bit. Hope that helps.
He produce so many hits that ya'll dont even know of. He has a shit load of album placement under his belt. This is one unfinish beat. It has one lead, hi hat, and a snare not even layered. And tuckiboi make just one number one billboard beat or at least one album or mixtape placement then talk. And before you say im ridin his dick or what ever, im just saying hes a producing legend.

thats funny you said that i am a singer songwriter i freestyle all my songs i can even sing country which still freaks me out. in ten minutes i write very good poetry/when i go to the music store i make beats that gets me a nice crowd of people thinking im a super artist. Producers collaborate on music a lot which would give multiple credit out, maybe one sets up all the sounds and one does the drums and percussion. It doesn't mean less credit is to be given obviously the tracks are well known so they did something right. It's funny when people that dont know music, talk music hahahaha
