All Speed Reading Tips you'll ever need right here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r0coslaQcSs.html You guys asked for it, and I delivered! I compiled all the best speed reading tips to help you improve your reading speed.
@@afrayedmind Hey! can you please tell me if I should keep practising mindlessly speed reading with pacer so that when I'm reading technical material or any serious book them my reading speed and conprehension both will be fast (nit tripple but maybe 1.5x)? I tried it 2 year before for sometime and tried reading a fictional novel. I completed 6 chapters in 10-15m and comprehension was somewhere 50% maybe little less or more.
This review really helped me. I was captivated by Jim’s story. The infomercial does try with numerous persuasion techniques to make you go for it and I wanted to see if he and the host could talk me into it. They couldn’t but still I was intrigued by the idea of remembering everything I read and every name of every person I meet so that my crawl up the ladder goes more smoothly just because I did not insult somebody by forgetting their name. I’m being tongue and cheek but I actually kind of mean it. It can be done hard to remember so many things like what one had for breakfast last Tuesday (which is actually not difficult because I eat the same thing every day). I decided rather than going any further I would look for a review. The first one I found was essentially another infomercial so I quickly moved on. I found yours and I really enjoyed that you actually did the course and picked good books to try it out. Your review completely jives with what I thought might be the case. RU-vid is an absolute Goldmine of information about practically everything. I learned how to take my 1975 Mercedes 240 D car door apart and fix it and put it back together on RU-vid. Your review adds to its value so thank you.
As a sales trainer I was skeptical about purchasing this course as I saw quite a few sales techniques being used which made me wary. Thank you for confirming my suspicions, it can help but not deliver as promised. But what I really enjoyed was your comments in that 80% of this can be found on youtube. It is interesting how to the right a video from Tim Ferriss shows up on how to speed read. I believe I will start there. Thank You.
Sir please those 80% knowledge contain video with us or just give us name of channel you like learn from them ( speed reading and compression) it's save our time also
Thanks SO much. I'm a bit of a sucker for success material, Tony Robbins, Tim Ferriss et al. My experience is results rarely match promises. Two things you said make perfect sense: most of the "insights" can be found on the internet, and you're generally not going to get the promised result...
i spend 497 dollar on this course, as you i was not sure if was worth it, the price in my opinion its fair, the skills you learn gives you more in return, i get it most of the skills that jim kwik show can be found for free, but if you know where to start. short story, after finishing the course, a company hired us to assemble and operate a machine, which had been trying to make it work for 10 months, it took me 3 hours to leave it running and teach them how to operate it, I recovered the investment in the course and more. it only depends on how you take advantage of what you have learned to decide whether its worth it or not. Great video! an honest one
So happy I received this RU-vid video. I really appreciate your review. I like the idea the course is for a lifetime. I enjoyed your honesty with no fluff to the point. Thanks again. ☺❤
Hey Since u mentioned that most of it can be found on RU-vid. By any chance did you curate a playlist ? I have been meaning to become a better, faster reader. Let me know if you come across this message. Thanks for the review !
I am always afraid about so much marketing.. He promotes his technique a lot. I think the only advantage you took was to focus yourself those 3 weeks on improving this skill but I'm sure you knew all but you did never pay attention to that before. So I'll wait for your version of the speed reading youtube course :)
These days, money is everything! I accept that he do marketing a lot but his techniques and podcasts are really useful, and book also(limitless) . I really observe changes in my life ! I didn’t know about course , am talking about youtube videos, podcasts and book
I greatly appreciated this review, it was a big help due to my lack of money. Honestly couldn't imagine paying anything more than $200 on a product like that.
Maybe it's life changing for some, but it definitely wasn't for me. If you want to take your chances with it, then it's your money. I would first recommend looking up all the free stuff you can find on youtube first.
I think that's a very honest review considering that Jim Kwik is super dedicated to marketing and not adding conditions like trippling the average reading speeding makes it look like little scammy. I'm only interested in this because I've heard most of the speed reading tutors say that speed reading increases your focus and thus comprehension. But also they all profit from speed reading classes. I think if I start reading a lot then I'll eventually increase my reading speed and comprehension any way. I also heard a 3 time world speed reading champion say he would not using this technique for learning technical things even though when he had the reading speed of 100 w.p.m. So, I guess it's a draw.
do the course again! I think each time you go through it you will improve and hear new things... if you have it already might as well use your investments
Great review ! Thank bro for that, i think the most important things that we need in 21st century not speed reading, it is... The ability to find out what is the truth and what is not
I've purchased other courses form him but not this one. This is a good review but want to add another perspective. @ I don't think Jim's classes are inventing new methodologies but he summarizes them very well. @ RU-vid is truly a goldmine but like goldmines most of the time and work is sifting through tons of dirt to get to the tiny bit of gold. @ I think many of us need a focused master persuader to overcome our own bad philosophies, bad techniques and bad habits. When we are honest with ourselves, many times it is these parts of us that prevent us from improving ourselves. A great teacher can speed up this process considerably!
Thank you for sharing this review. I’ve been up in the air about purchasing. I like Jim Kwik a lot so he’s a trusted source for me but I didn’t know if this was the product I needed. I may purchase for the structure and habit building like you said.
I been looking to get into speed reading since I don't like to read books unless I have too. I was looking to get his course and see if that helped. One thing you mention is finding them online. Can you give example or something . There are so much BS that I don't know which is right or wrong.
Hi, they said it was a limited time offer, but I've seen it offered many times. If you wait (or possibly email them asking for it) then it should come up again.
This quik course is HORRIBLE. IT DOES NOT WORK, further, the company assails you with dozens of additional courses and business opportunities that are pure marketing bs. Avoid this outfit like the plague. They’re greedy and mercenary snd could seemingly care less about individual customers.
Have you been able to keep up your reading speed (400 wpm) while reading new material? I'm just wondering because I have always found I can read a book quicker naturally without any speed reading techniques, when it's something I've read before.
There are many techniques that I have continued to use, and some I can't be bothered with. I don't think it's quite at 400wpm, but some of the techniques are really obvious with how much they help. Others, it's hard to tell.
@@afrayedmind Hey! maybe you can make a video on all the tips you have found? It's better to find most of the material in one video rather than spending hours searching for them. Most of the videos contain same 2 things: use pacer and stop your brain from subvocalization. Watched many videos but haven't found any tip other than that.
Hey, thank you for making this video. You sound pretty decent. I can't stop myself from sharing 2 incidents of Swami Vivekananda. 1. Swami Vivekananda was a voracious reader. Once he was in Chicago (Probably), and he used to get large volume of books issued from the library and would return them all the very next day, and would borrow huge volume of books again. Once librarian got angry on him and he took his trial right there, and Swami Vivekananda was able to answer all the questions and in many cases quoted word to word lines from all the books he previously got issued. 2. Once Swami Vivekananda met some well-known philosopher or someone. And Swami ji saw that that person was reading a book written in German language (if I remember the language correctly) and was struggling with it. He took the book, sat in his meditation posture with the book in his hand and when he opened his eyes, he knew the whole of the content of the book. Swami ji was able to answer any question along with giving reference to the page numbers from the book. Swami ji did not open the book, he just sat in meditation posture with closed book in his hands and Swami ji didn't even knew German language. This kind of comprehension and reading ability is super natural. Obviously he was a great personality and had tremendous concentration power, like a laser, because he had practiced it for years. What's more surprising that he mentioned that anyone can do this with concentration and purity of heart. I'd encourage you to read any of his books. One very well known is Rajayoga by Swami Vivekananda. I just couldn't help myself but to share.
DISAGREE What this course taught was different from Online 10 min video. Course is something where Instructor dives deep into the subject. Whereas in an online video it is but a 10 15 min snippet. Totally disagree. The instructor is teaching to master the technique/wisdom whereas in online video he is merely “telling the wisdom”. Dude you finished the book because you were able to dive deep with the instructor. And that is “value for money”.
Thanks for the great review and advice. You paid $197? I thought it was more than that. Don't you also have to buy the Mind Valley membership -either annual or monthly - to have access to the course? I once read 3 Sweet Valley High books while I was a high school student on break. I can't believe it since I now that I struggle to read even one book. BUT that will change!
I'm not paying any regular membership. It was a one time payment and I have full access to the course if I want to go back and redo some of it. Which is a massive benefit that people shouldn't overlook. The price I paid was a 'one time special', but these specials come up all the time. You could always email them asking for a discount, there's no downside to trying.
@@afrayedmind You're the best. Thank you! For now I'm just doing a daily practice of testing for 1 min, speed reading for 20 min and the retesting for 1 min.
