Hally Leadbetter challenges broadcast legend Jim Nantz to a 3-hole match at Pebble Beach Golf Links. Still haven't subscribed to Golf Digest on RU-vid? ➡️▶️ bit.ly/golfdigestyoutubesub
God that was such a pleasure to watch and listen to. He’s such a gentleman. Thanks Hally & GD for putting this together 👏🏻 anyone else ready for the masters all of a sudden? 🌺
I watched this three hole hello friends match and went out and played relaxed like Jim and hit quality shots, more than usual. Jim you have a great set up and hands. Thank you!
That was fun to watch! As for speed of the game, I could play 18 in two hours; I enjoy being out on the green grass and all, but I find 3 to 4 hour amateur rounds put a damper on it.
Wow, I have so much in common with Jim Nantz that I didn't realize. I like the early morning, coffee black and breakfast. I think that is where it all ends though. Good Fun video.
Can we please be sure to AI Jim's voice so all golf tournaments can be called by him for now and forever? The masters at the least! I know my generation would sure appreciate it.
I could listen to Jim make an order inside a McDonald’s for breakfast and enjoy it. “I’ll take a large black coffee, 1Egg McMuffin and hash Browns on the side. 😅
Fisher Island? I worked there one summer as waiter/bartender & already 1 handicapp. Staff played free every Monday & I was told only course in USA with ocean views every hole. Short course with rock hard fairways & all par 5's easy to reach but very small bent grass greens. I shot par 72 only 2nd time playing the course, beating both the 1st asst pro & restaurant mgr. The whole week, members & people I didn't know all wanted to talk to me like I was god but not the head pro or 3 other asst pro's. They were embarrassed they couldn't break 80 & hated my guts but that was a fun summer & Ross Perot came there for his daughter, who got married there. One of few places, I've worked where very wealthy mix well with the staff but its also very secure island, only accessible by ferry, boat, or plane/helicopter.
Jim Nantz is a great commentator, but one of his most impressive qualities commentating golf is that, despite having been a top amateur golfer, you would never even know he played. He never talks about his own game, never talks about players' swings or their strategies, personal knowledge of courses, etc.
Hally saying her back hurts on the first tee because she’s carrying Golf Digest on her back with these vids. She’s more recognizable to me than more than half the tour.
Jim you are correct I am 11 to 13 handicap player and I can play in 3 hours and 20 minutes and be one or two strokes one way or the other it is ridiculous we played the other day on the turn there was 12 of us on the 10th teebox. Needless to say we went up to the clubhouse and got a refund.
I was never a big Jim Nantz fan. Company guy. Never says a controversial thing. Plays by the rules. Perfect for the folks that run The Masters. Republican. etc. But, I have mellowed in my old age. And he obviously is a golfer. By that I mean he has the golf spirit. There are golfers who have the golf spirit and those that play golf that do not. Most men that play golf are just guys that play golf. But aren't really golfers. He is a real one. So got to give him that.
Enjoy the history lesson that mr Nantz gave in regards to him growing up in country club life, aka the good life. How some lived the good life while others struggled to just be treated as humans beings. Can’t tell me how this was designed for other to be successful. But that’s the reality of this nation.... it’s history with skeletons in its closet..
