No clickbait content, no “I played nine holes with a baseball bat and a mousetrap” videos, no gimmicks or bad golf advice. The course videos and tutorials is just pure, well-produced golf content. Terrific fun to watch your round Matt. I was fortunate enough to play Pebble 20 years ago (I was coming off a back surgery, so had very low expectations, was just happy - amazed actually - to be there. I got one of the four slots available for singles 24 hours before I played, when I was able to make a reservation even though I wasn’t staying at the resort.) Your take on the caddies is spot on. Essential to the round. What people have no idea about, and what doesn’t come through on video or TV - you tried to explain it - is just how hilly the course is. Also, when you start on 1 you tee off right in front of the pro shop and a million people are watching you while your heart is beating out of your chest as you say to yourself “I can’t believe I’m actually playing Pebble.” It takes two more holes for that to stop, but then you tee off on 4, walk up the hill and there is Stillwater Cove on your right and it just starts up again. And everywhere you go, you are saying in your head: “well here is where Tiger did this, and here is where Jack did that and here is where Tom chipped in” and so on, that it can be hard to keep your focus, even after the heart stops pounding. So your score is really incredible.

Fantastic Golfsidekick! I got to play Pebble once.... for free! And that wasn't even the best part of it, I got to play with my brother and niece. My niece was in college at the time and was working at the PB resort. She was allowed to play PB once every quarter and picked me to play with her that time. Her and my brother played one of the other courses the day before so while my niece and I play Pebble on that day, my brother was just gonna caddie and be our photographer. We show up to the 1st tee and got paired up with another employee. His guest didn't make it and he looks over at my brother and says "do you have your clubs?" It was an extremely kind gesture that I still haven't forgotten 13 years later. I had birdie putts on 3 of the first 5 holes and didn't convert any of them. We got to the 6th tee and I realized it didn't matter.

Thanks to your videos, I am able to play with less pressure. High handicap so far but lowering it slowly thanks to your advice. It will take the time it needs but as you said take one ball at a time

It just occurred to me how nicely you release the club, you can really feel the relaxedness in your wrists at impact.

it doesn't always happen that one round that you play on a course you've never played that is HIGHLY anticipated ends up working out this well....but you had a really good day and it was AWESOME to see. Plus you got some amazing weather. I bet the caddies not only help with course mgmt. and club selection, but they probably know a lot about the history of the course too! Really cool video! I think it's your best yet!

Such spectacular views - Pebble didn't disappoint, did it. it looked like a wonderful day of golf, and this went by way too fast. The Playa-in-Chief playing an iconic course like this should be a feature film, not a shorty. Also, real nice touch around those speedy greens.

What I absolutely love is your experience with the new grass types in America. It's the one thing that will raise your game from the typical grasses overseas. It's what makes American golf courses "American." So many grass types, so many experiences. My 76 overseas is an 86 in America :)

It's hard to capture on video how intimidating 6 and 7 are. Pebble is a lesson in course management. Thankfully your caddie was amazing and you were putting well. Your score was fabulous for having never played the course before.

I had the best day there as well about 7 years ago. Not as good as a player as I am now but scored well and only lost one ball. I remember handing over my credit card when getting checked in and the guy on cash said "That will be $700". I'd gladly pay that again for a chance to visit Pebble once more. Also, on 18 I said to my caddie, Shawn " what do you suggest for my second shot?" he quickly said "You didn't come all the way to Pebble to lay up!" Great memories!!

The moment you drive into the entrance of Pebble Beach GC you can feel the mystique. It is a superb track, one of the best in California for a public course. Treacherous 2nd cut rough. Wrist breakers but very rewarding if you stay on the fairways. The greens are tricky. Gotta bring your A game. Even the best of the best struggle there.

Yup, at 1:42 that's the kind of nasty rough we regular Joe's in the States encounter. For me that's where a 60 degree comes in handy, and that kind of rough and bunkers are the only times I use 60, as you know, are quite the fickle mistress. One of your best videos, glad you got to experience PB.

Great video. Pebble is beauty and not terribly difficult ( see Spyglass!) , but it is insanely expensive due to the stay requirements. Thankfully my boss paid! The caddies I had were invaluable. I was 2 over after nine in the winter rain then blew up on the back and shot 90 as a 14 index. doh!

Question for the host. Is the Golf Sidekick app really yours? If so… idea 💡. Add a button bar of sounds. The birdie music sound, tube music sound, and slow jazz sound. I’d play it for one of my golf buddies cause he and I both watch your stuff and he’d get a kick out of it. On social rounds of rounds. Sundays are for the boyfriends. ;)

Great scrambling score. I also bogyed the first hole when I played there (landed on green above the flag and putted past the hole for a nice three putt). That first hole green was very tricky for me. But the course is a once in a life time memory. Another great video.

Matt, it makes me happy that you've gotten to do so much here in the States. You have been here for TPC this week. They went from nearly 80 (27C) degrees to 50 (10C) degrees with a 30mph (48kph) wind to today when it was 33 (1C) when I woke up. Whadda test!

I got to play Pebble once back in the early ‘80’s with some buds. I can’t believe how much shorter the course plays today with modern clubs and balls. You were hitting an average of 3 clubs less on approaches than we played back then. I was also surprised at how much shorter the rough was cut. Well played!

I have been to Pebble Beach twice. I've taken pictures on the first tee and 18th green. I've eaten lunch in the restaurant and bought stuff in the golf shop. But since I wasn't staying there, or have clubs with me, I didn't get to play it. At 71 years old, I think I could get around it from the senior tees, but I don't think I could walk the 18 holes.

This is the pinnacle Playa. It's gonna be tough to top this one. Amazing. Thank you for sharing this round with us Next stop, Old Course...............

Very impressive!! You could've blown up right at the start with a double and a bad drive on 2 but you kept it together. Something everyone can learn from.

Damn Playa your driver is looking great. Idk I may be hallucinating things but I swear even a year ago your driver wasn't this solid. Your 8/9iron bump and run tips took so many strokes off my game. I was pulling out my 60 degree for close shots and bladed as many (if not more) than I had stop on the green. I switched to more bump and runs and can convert so many more shots to pars than I ever have.

Thanks. This is the closest I'll ever come to playing Pebble Beach. I also enjoyed Not a Scratch Golfer's round. Fascinating how different the course looks compared to the many televised PGA events I have watched. And not only because there are no crowds. It remains iconic while looking like a real golf course that one can actually play.

I`m looking forward to seeing the Spanish Bay round too! I played there myself a couple of months ago, after trying desperately to get a tee time at Pebble, but no luck. I really enjoyed Spanish Bay, but it was my caddie Spencer who made the experience really good. He was worth every penny!
