when I was a boy working in the fields on the tractor I used to sing Jim reeves songs at the top of my lungs ----goood thing the tractor was noisey so I didnt scare the locals he was my favorite singer
I used to sing when I was dressing my tomato garden, the only working place I was alone. I was imagining how nice it will be to love someone the same way Jim Reeves was singing.
Ahh, the memories. I grew up in the late 50s and 60s. The duclet tones of that beautiful baritone voice often filled our home, as Jim Reeves was my mom's favorite. I taught her to appreciate the Beatles and Buddy Holly while she taught me to appreciate the great country crooners. Rest in peace, mom. I still get choked up and miss you so much every time I hear this song.
I remember all the oldies that came through my radio on a small 12 inch black and white tv..Im 83 and I still love them. Thank you You Tube for bringing these wonderful old songs to us.. God bless you❤️❤️🙏🙏

After my grandmother passed away, I heard my mum listen to this song. She told me that my grandparents used to sing this to each other, because they did love each other with all their heart. The song was played at my grandmother's funeral and it's made me smile and cry ever since.
TheHighlander1960 mine too, then when momma passed, he'd sing it to me. now, they're both gone but if I ever want to hear his voice, I listen to this song, daddy sang just like him!

I saw him live in Lethbridge Alberta years ago and when his band took a break he ( the star himself ) stayed on stage and played an acoustic guitar and sang his voice was just as beautiful on his own in huge building
wow...my grandad also loved jim reeves ;) he would always play his guitar and sing this song...his voice sounded so much like jim reeves! he recently passed away, and this is the first time i could listen to the song and be happy, without bawling.
My dad listened to Jim. Somehow I am still able to love the music. Somehow over all the evil my own family did to me for so many years. Music is lovely like that. In memory it has a purity to it that can heal..

It may be that Jim Reeves sang it before Elvis but Elvis´ version is the most well-known. Jim Reeves had a wonderful voice, I remember him from the 60´s but another kind of singer than Elvis who was an innovator.

This was my father's favourite singer and everytime I hear Jim sing, it brings me back to those early years when his music was played in our household. My dad passed away almost 15 years ago and I miss him to this day, but this music will always remind me of the great man who was my father.
