I love Jim Reeves bcos my Dad who is dead listens to him till he died, Jim musik was his best musik. I can't stop listening to Him now, I tear for my dad anytime I listen to Jim Reeves.
My Dad was a massive fan, he sadly passed away last year and my mum had this played at his funeral in a tribute to him ...There wasn't a dry eye in the crematorium when the song had finished ....
Jim Reeves must have been a favorite of Elvis Presley because many of Jim's signature songs were later covered by Elvis himself. After listening to Jim sing I can see why Elvis had him in his collection. Reeves had one of the smoothest, silkiest voices I ever heard. His material was always chosen wisely and his quality remains to this day. I wish more people were aware of Reeves today. He was not outlaw but he was not corny or hokey either. A class act.
You know Jim and Elvis had a good relationship ever since their time together at the Louisiana Hayride. At one occation in 1960, when Elvis was to have a recording session in Nashville's RCA Studio B, the musicians were told they were to back up Jim Reeves, while it really was Elvis, to avoid a stampede of people coming to see Elvis at the top of his popularity. Of course Jim didn't mind.
I wish today's country singers would learn proper singing by listening to Jim Reeves. His voice is natural and not contrived like so many of today's country singers.
Frankly, a tone of voice like Jim Reeves's at this age, so beautiful and soft, is a gift of God, not given to everybody though in 2023. The more so, this song can be meant for all our dears, be they our spouse, children, etc, and even the Almighty God. Blessed be everyone here.
My father was a Jim Reeves fan so I grew up listening to all his songs. 68 years later he is still and will always be one of my favourites, second to my father of course.
The tragic and untimely passing of Jim Reeves left a huge void in the world of musical entertainment. He is not easily forgotten and we are the less without him. This great song befits our memories of him.
Hi Billydoggie! Yes, I have a question for you, you're facing eternal danger of hell in front of you! Only way to avoid falling in that pit of hell is only by receiving Jesus Christ as your Saviour & Lord! Never prostrate before a man made idol; but only before Holy spirit tells you in Bible.
Today exactly 50 years are gone since Jim Reeves tragically died in an airplane accident (July 31st, 1964). After half a century, his velvet bariton voice still lives on in his timeless music. It has become world cultural heritage. Thanks Jim for all these magnificent songs you gave us.
Heart-breaking to think this handsome talented man only had 3 months until he would be tragically taken from the world when this was recorded in April '64 ... RIP gentleman Jim x
I could watch this a hundred thousand times. What a warm and gentle voice! It simply doesn't get any better than this--and it is very, very rare that it gets anywhere nearly as good as this.
Away back in the 1960's I had very little money after buying a mono record player. So I went to Woolthworths and got a Jim Reeves album for their "Music for Pleasure" cheap vinyl albums. And Jim's voice has haunted me every since. I was young then BUT the values we had then have all been forgotten..Peace and Love.. Weird Bill from Scotland.

My mother and father both loved this man. I've listened to him so many times. I actually thought I would be sick. Funny thing is when my boys were infants and my wife couldn't get them to sleep I would walk the floors with them and sing all Jim Reeves songs to them. They would fall asleep in my arms. All his songs came back to me. All I can say is Thanks Jim.
My mum died 4 years ago , she was a true beauty and it wasn't until you lose them do you realise who they were, but her favourite singer was Jim reeves she said he had a pure voice that every woman would have wanted so when I hear him I break down and cry x
I have always loved this voice. That generation produced Bing Crosby, Lou Armstrong and Dean Martin. Singers/crooners as they where properly called, they brought magic to my childhood.
Since I was a kid,I 've been amazed of his voice. It was heartbreaking to realise that Jim Reeves passed away just a couple of months after this concert.
Bardzo piękny utwór I świetne wykonanie ,wracam aby posłuchać i cieszyć się że są jeszcze tak Cudowne nagrania z dawnych lat .Pozdrawiam serdecznie i dziękuję

Lyrics: I love you because you understand, dear Every single thing I try to do You're always there to lend a helping hand, dear I love you most of all because you're you No matter what the world may say about me I know your love will always see me through I love you for the way you never doubt me But most of all I love you 'cause you're you I love you because my heart is lighter Every time I'm walking by your side I love you because the future's brighter The door to happiness, you open wide No matter what the world may say about me I know your love will always see me through I love you for a hundred thousand reasons But most of all I love you 'cause you're you
my dads favourite song, i am getting emotional , my dear irish father sang this to my mother when i was just 4 years of age, i miss him... Mammy is still alive.........1964
This one is coming at me from an earlier era as a young child at home. Mom would always be singing around the house, and she could sing like a bird too!! Music was always big around our place; sometimes Dad would have the guitar out, and everyone loved the musical get together's with more family & friends. This song usually always came up: Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad! Len & Anne Tufts, Nova Scotia Dec. 22, 2011.
I'm 66 years old now, but Jim Reeves was one of my Mother and Fathers' favorites, along with Ferlin Husky and others. I miss those Sunday afternoons when we'd gather around the Record Player and just listen...😥❤
Wow 😳 I love Jim Reeves grew up listening to his music on my parents record player,He was gone before I was Gone, that's many years he's gone, but his Songs live on

Good grief. How beautiful. If you can sing this simply and this beautifully, then you have it nailed. And I don't know anyone who could sing so simply and beautifully as Jim Reeves.
Sending love right got a chance to be back stage with the band in Birmingham concert Intriguing singer plus put an electrifying performance did you get to meet the gem?
This was my husband's favorite singer and it was one of his favorite songs. We played it at his funeral - he died Dec. 25, 2011. I still miss him every day.
The sweeping ballad 'I Love You Because', is a plain-spoken statement of a husband's love for his wife, filled with romantic lyrics, driven by guitar and light piano.
Evening, my dad not home yet, my mom in the kitchen my brother somewhere downstairs and my little sister upstairs in her room and LPs of Jim Reeves paying for hours and nobody speaking, just listening. What memories of childhood
He is one of the best and greatest singer ever passed through this world....it so sad how he died so quick at an early age in an early time. But he will always be remembered....R.I.P brother.
I love this guy's music no matter what.i'm 37 years of age,i been listening to his music when i was 5 years old, till now and no one's music can close my eyes when go to bed.he is the best country singer i love listening to.perfect music, make sence.
Jim Reeves sensed the mood of the audience immediately and did not stray a bit from the original. A true professional in action in Oslo. Wonderful performance.
My Dad used to sing this song beautifully, sadly he passed away in 2007. He was a gentleman too and I would give the world to hear him sing this once more. R.I.P Daddy x
There've been so many times when I've listened to a song, and didn't like it too much. Then I see the flashy video, and somehow the song seems to become more attractive. I think theatrical production can make a song or a singer seem much better than it really is. The true test of a song is in audio alone, and Gentleman Jim passes that test like the star that he is.
