Jim is my favorite part of Slipknot. He used to be my favorite part of Stone Sour as well. He brings so much melody to both bands and I love when melodies are sneaked into heavy songs.
@@seanwechsler6783 nah theres a recent interview with metalhammer where he said it was because he and corey "would have killed eachother" if he didnt leave. They just didnt get along at that time and one had to go. Plus jim said he felt like he wasnt able to really commit to slipknot or stone sour so that too made him leave stone sour.
Even when Jim was in small club bands he had a certain thing. He's just always had that " guitar god " kinda vibe I guess you could say. I was actually pissed when he left Deadfront to join Slipknot.. cause honestly I was not impressed with their demo / album MFKR. But then the Roadrunner debut came out.. Ahh.. Ok now I get it lol.. I mean even twenty years later.. It's still surreal to see a band from here reach their level.
@@jmgdarkest9034 what the fuck? Who are you attracted to? Chad Kroger and Justin Bieber? Shut the fuck up. You don't know what good looking unless it bit you on the ass!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Jim's not 'hot' or 'sexy' in the conventional way but he just exudes cool. Not like smooth cool but quirky cool that just draws you to him. Plus he's a kickass guitar player! 🔥🔥
i can't love him more. he's not that one annoying asshole who keeps saying "i live in the wrong generation" or "pop music sucks". he seems so open to things
How the hell does Jim Root not know that he is God status guitarist to us? You are my Jimmy Page. I might have never picked up a guitar if not for you, dude.
I met Jim when they first did their headling show and then at the time when he mentioned jada smiths band (worked stage at both shows) and honestly he's such a gent, had time to hang out and chat, remembered me the second time of meeting him.
I'm fascinated with Jim Root and his playing. He brings an intangible essence to Slipknot and used to before Stone Sour were dumb enough to let him go. I can't stomach Stone Sour's new stuff, it just doesn't sound like Stone Sour without Root. Anyways, Jim seems like such a cool and down to earth guy.
F..king great bloke Jim Root. Awesome guitarist one of the very best. Good luck with the tour guys sorry i missed you in Sheffield but il be at knotfest!!!
It would be cool to have access to a playlist of what he listened, what inspired/inspires his riffs and all that ! Looks like he has some fine music taste
Thanks for this upload, there aren't too many 2020 Slipknot member interviews or good recordings and Jim Root always seems like such a nice and down to earth lad. I really enjoyed this interview, cheers!
It’s intense you mentioned Thin Lizzy! But then again any time I meet anyone from that part of the world I can’t hesitate to ask about Phil Lynott! Slipknot and Thin lizzy are in my top rock/metal/heavy music bands of all time
@@simterio3077 Well they had like a two month break at this stage but I think it's more jet lag....I can't imagine what he'll look like after the European tour 😅
I'm always late to the party as far as music as concerned....like Jim says. I wouldn't have it any other way. I can sit back and pick and choose the best shit out of the menagerie of bullshit that's out there. I know exactly what he's saying. He's definitely up there with all the legends.....
I have a lot of respect for Jim but I can't stand Slipknot anymore. I just can't get into their music anymore and the decisions made by Corey and Clown are highly questionable.
They would fit in better with the metal and deathcore scene if they played smaller venues, with real metal acts and real crowds and real pits. But no, they wanna play giant arenas with glitter and balloons with a bunch of kids who only know a few songs on the radio.
