@@thestu059 Root is a genuinely humble guy. I've been watching him for years and he's always been like that. He may not be the best Guitarist but he's extremely talented. You should check his Instagram. He's really fun and down on earth.
Jim is so down to earth, knows his limitations, ie knows when he's lazy, knows when he's productive, knows when he has to work, so cool. I miss him in Stone Sour, but he's obviously happy just playing with Slipknot. I'd love to have a few pints with him and talk old school metal, Beatles, motorcycles and Mopar.
The interviewer did such a great job at just simply listening to what Jim has to say, not interrupting, just listening and letting Jim be as comfortable as possible. Jim seems like such a chill and down to earth humbled dude. And that Netflix question was amazing cause Love was a fantastic fucking show
I've said it before but I love watching this guy's interviews and this is a perfect example. Jim Root is not always at ease when talking to the camera and he seems properly chilled out here and just enjoying talking about gear, I'd love to hear more about that Bogner he's been using.
He is fucking great, Mick is great, they blend to make magic... From a technical standpoint Mick has more technicality, they compliment each other so perfectly....... But they are both gods
Been watching him play since the late 80's. Mostly at a place called The Runway (RIP). He's always been amazing. If there was any guitarist from Iowa that was destined for success, it's Jim. He's just got that special vibe about him.
I love Jim man so humble like Jimi Hendrix was...he's my favorite of the Knots. Slipknot is the coolest metal band...no ego whatsoever! Maggot for life!
Jim Root is the only signature model guitar that I would actually consider buying. He is humble and he never forgets where he's come from. An all around cool dude!
I’ll just say in the heat of the pandemic I like countless others had descended into a very dark place. Luckily I had the wherewithal to turn off the news and turn on the music. Call it a planetary alignment, happen chance, divine intervention, whatever but I owe my life to RU-vid, Jim Root, Slipknot, Fender/Squire and Stay Metal Ray. I’ve never held a guitar let alone contemplated purchasing one. From the bottom of my heart, unbeknownst to any of them they all provided enough of a unified energy to pull me from my self created abyss ♥️ humble, benevolent souls...the world certainly needs more of them now...thank you Jim!
Jim is the most down to earth and humble guy ever. He really inspires me and I've always thought and contradicted myself being I only play guitar by ear and I know people who know all the music theory and have the knowledge in music and can play phenomenal while I just simply play guitar and don't put too much into it. I just enjoy playing and Jim made me realize that we have similarities as well. He doesn't know theory at all and he's just like me. He just enjoys playing.
God I love Jim. He became my fave member of Slipknot over the years after they started revealing their personalities more and more. Always loved his style, whether it was his playing or just his choice of gear, but the matching personality just brings it together. You feel like he’s your best friend after watching an interview for two minutes.
Anytime i see a jim root interview i click, for someone of his status dude is super cool and down to earth, and laid back, if you didn't know who he was you'd never think he was in a huge band like slipknot, I'd love to hangout with him
@@oisinuresmaher I met the whole band backstage Belfast few years ago.Brought my son who was 8 at the time.He is now 12 an huge slipknot fan. They WERE ALL COOL,but jim really took time to talk to my kid an corey too.SO i never forgot that. The show was killer to.sucidal played support.it was amzing.
It's interesting, this interview seems like it was done a while ago on the British dates they did, it certainly doesn't seem recent, great interview though
Yes - he and Slipknot played Wembly in 2015 with Korn - they did the Sabotague cover together. I was there! 😁😎 Really good interview, so thanks for this. I just wish he was asked about his time in Stone Sour, making many excellent records with them! 😎
Speaking of set list, I would love for them to add Liberate back go the playlist. I feel after covid and all this bullshit, it’d be nice to see the fans jumping and going crazy for that intro
If I practiced every day I could be very good! Fuck me that's some statement from a guy I see as a guitar god. Both Mick and Jim are superb players who really compliment each other's playing. I love Jim,he really comes across as a sound guy who is down to earth and totally genuine. I'd love to buy this guy a beer and just chat all night. Kudos to the interviewer here too, great questions and let's Jim give him full answers without trying to own the interview.
I've had the fortune of meeting Mick mor ethan once! I used to stop by Des Moines and visit Donnie who was a friend of Mick. Great Guys! Mikael is definitely a theory expert!
