Jim and Courtney always give the best interviews. That will be remembered as a big part of their legacies. Makes the sport so much more interesting to follow.

I was very impressed with this WS100 Jim. By this point he was comfortable with the course and confident with where he needed to be and when...he just took extra time to fuel up/ cooldown and kept everyone close and kept the pressure on. Dylan and Corrine felt a 14:20 in that heat was certainly more impressive than 2019. I know everyone wants Jim to sub 14:00 but realistically it's just about keeping things in check and winning. Constant Jim. Jim says, "People are coming up with faster strategies..." I don't think he realized that it's like Rod said, "They just wanted to run with Jim and try to hang." 😂Rod found that he could, especially if he cut down on aid station time, which, as we seen leading up to Pointed Rock is pretty risky. Jim used to cut down on aid station time, probably in 2016-2019 but present day wise Jim says, "a minute here and there can be massive gains in the long run."

One of the best interviews I've heard Jim give. He is usually much more reticent, to the point of distraction. I understand he is a bit introverted by nature, so it's understandable. But he seemed much more engaged here, and more open about his strategies and future goals. Glad I watched this one.

My wife wonders if he is neurodivergent like she is. He doesn't usually like to make eye contact, for one, like her. It's not bad: People who are neurodivergent can be uniquely gifted and be great at mathematical calculations, better able to visualize things and many other things. He does strike me as highly intelligent, so could just be that.

That was fantastic! What an earnest and engaging interview that helped us learn more about what goes through the mind of this great athlete. Loved watching 14 hours of coverage yesterday and this interview really connects all the dots for me from his film, to yesterdays race to what Jim’s future might hold. So cool!

I spoke to Jim at one point and he said he wanted to win HardRock and Comrades. I'm curious if those are still on his list.

He’s been trying. It’s a lottery.

@@BernsrdKnollno he hasn’t, he hasn’t even put in for the lottery. If he ever gets in, it’ll be through Dale’s picks, but it’s a low priority for him at this stage of his career

I could see him doing it in a few years… Hardrock isn’t necessarily the most competitive race and for Jim he’s still got a window to win it a handful of times.
