Legend Music Manteca hosted its second round of Guitar Wars competition on November 9, 2012. Jimbo was one of the three finalists to go on to the finals being held on December 9, 2012 at Legend Music Sound Stage, Fresno
+Flesh Coffin dude you need to see rob's actual music he has videos for. I honestly don't even know why he needs so many strings, he says so high up on the fretboard.
everyone comments on the guitar itself but I love the music he made with it. I've listened to it about 10 times now. it does remind me of yes like 1 person commented.
I remember i saw this on 2013, i was bored as hell and suddenly into RU-vid recomendations i saw this, and since then i just can't get enough of this video, it just feels so damn relaxing when i'm listening to it, it's just magical.
Sounds of JRPG via Warr Guitar (no it is not misspelled) 0:41 - 2:27 Forrest Theme 2:28 - 2:42 Boss Encounter 2:42 - 2:47 Battle Initiation 2:47 - 3:33 Boss Fight!
Actually it is because makers of JRPGs and Japanese people in general are huge fans of European thematic music. They borrowed it and modified the style a little for games so that it’s more pleasant when repeating over and over. Mostly it’s from thematic classical music.
rumor has it when the string snapped, it stretched to the heavens and god himself returned it to the headstock and tuned it himself.....and it was good.
"I've been sick the whole week, and I only got to spend 45 minutes on what I hope to peform" sounds like; "me and KG wrote this song 5 minutes ago" and then play the most awesome shit ever
Inevitable Truth That took me an entire day to measure and set up. Unless you're willing to deal with bollocks like this, don't get one. They're an amazing creative tool, but holy fuck are they annoying to work with.
Every video that shows someone playing a guitar with a crazy extended range has a hundred people in the comments saying that they respect the musicianship but it sounds terrible. What the hell do you want it to sound like? This was a perfect jazzy neo-classical type piece. He accomplished what he wanted to accomplish, how could you possibly say that it sounds bad objectively?
+Turdsplosion Using a higher end electric piano, some of them come with either a dial or a touchpad that allows you to have the same type of effect as bending or sliding on a string instrument.
+lucas “lucas88” dessimoiz lol omg pwnd!!!!111!! grats man. Now go talk to some actual musicians about how digital simulation of pitch bending vibrato and sliding isn't the same as stringed instrument. LOL OMG COUTNER ATTACKED!!!! ez mid, gg
Active pickups. probably some level of overdrive and some obvious reverb/delay. tons of little things can help. another thing is just getting better at tapping/hammering cause a bad technique reeeeallly shows when it come to that.
notafgt Define tasteful, skill, and talent. I am going to continue on with my life I expect your essay in the comments by the end of the week at which point I will respond with a letter grade having read the first 3 lines.
Bliced There is a search engine on the internet. It is named "Google." You could use it to define words, by typing the word in the search bar, and pressing enter!
Luis S well then it's not a harp anymore then is it? when it gains a fretboard, it becomes a lute, and is no longer a harp. though arguably lutes don't have to have fretboards to be lutes, or maybe they're lyres. in any case, guitars are basically lutes.
RJ Macready, I thought it was good but it's not my thing. I like good old fashion alternate pick strokes. Folk/bluegrass/jazz (Old Slipknot fan who went acoustic)
To even make an instrument this crazy sound good and use it to its full potential, you have to have a very strong understanding of theory. Unlike your average 6 string guitarists who can memorize chord shapes, there's not really much specific instruction for these super instruments.
+Davey R Why is this super instrument? It's just two hand tapping. No matter how many strings you add the technique is the same. If people can learn to play piano or organ (where you even have keyboard for legs), they can also learn play two hand tapping on guitar. Technique exists probably for centuries .
11 strings. It's an 11 string instrument built specifically for 2 handed tapping. It has no "body" as such, because it doesn't need one, and makes it infinitely more functional without it.
