❣️Jimin’s “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band”, is basically an ever so uplifting, filled with joy & happiness, love song, mainly for army who he references numerous times, like when mentioning “it started on June 12”, which was the actual debut of BTS where they met army for first time during a performance showcase. BTS official debut performance was next day on June 13. Also in the dance, the choreography, including the one for the dance challenge on tiktok, Jimin is even doing in sign language, the hand signs, for I love you, while dancing, ❤️ 👍🙏🥰☺️ The song also is in reference, an homage to the Beatles, as well as Beatles album Sgt Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band, which Jimin used as inspiration, even singing lyrics “I want to hold your hand”! An excellent clue already happened in the vid: “A Day with Jimin in NYC by vogue, (perhaps you might want to watch it), which was basically a behind the scene, filmed during the time Jimin debuted “Like Crazy” on Jimmy Fallon show last yr. same day his album FACE dropped. Always appreciate Jimin’s ability to masterfully combine interesting instrumentation w/ Hip Hop, Ballad style vocals, and Rap, all wrapped by super catchy hooks and melodies. ❤️ how his lyrics are deceptively simple but have 2-3 underlying meanings - have to listen to his music w/ both ears and brains. For instance - “SGMB reveals a story about the world where all the hidden feelings of the listener are accepted and embraced. Smeraldo flowers signify “the truth that one couldn’t say out loud.” Song urges listeners to embrace their truth because in ‘Smeraldo Garden,’ the marching band embraces everyone’s authenticity and feelings.” (Also ties into BTS’s song “The Truth Untold”.) Some reactors have acted like this is just some goofy summer song, disappointed he didn’t do something like Set Me Free Pt. 2. I think it’s great he’s unafraid to share another side and give us pure joy! He does what he wants despite industry expectations (like singing live in a MV)… can totally see The Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart Band” influence. Also, interesting note on the Smeraldo flower: Jimin collaborated with producers Pdogg, Ghstloop, and Evan, who contributed to his solo album, Face. Jimin made this prior to entering the SK army for his mandatory military enlistment. Only one member of BTS(Jin) has finished their enlistment period. Jimin's album MUSE comes out this month. BTS preplanned content to come out during their 18-21 mn enlistment time. This song has Easter Eggs in it that Army (fandom) will catch and, refers to the BU universe, which is pretty exciting for Army.
