Throughout the Lowe's era, there were tons of memorable designs. One of those was the simplistic, white and blue racing stripes look that raced during the 2012 NASCAR Cup Series season. Jimmie Johnson raced "white lightning" in 21 of his races, mostly as an alternate scheme to the primary blue. At first, it was a gem to see on the track. But over time, the Dover white look started to cause bad luck and become a curse for the 7 time champ. They really should have even though it is just named that by chance. Unless I'm wrong I assume it is named "Dover White" after the White Cliffs of Dover as they have a similar off white kind of color. Still would have been cool to see. I like Jimmie but kinda want him to stay at 7 with Richard and Dale. Legends in thier own right in vastly different eras of nascar that all deserve thier place in history tied for the greatest of all time.

Jeff Gordon's black version of the DuPont 20 years scheme from 2012, it became associated with the Boywer feud, and he put Boywer in the wall on purpose.

I was actually just thinking about this. Ever since Jimmie went from the usual blue and silver Lowe's, he has declined in performance. Untill he came back to drive the blue and silver and won the championship, but then went to the black Lowe's, he never even won a race and eventually dropped.

So far this White ally scheme has netted his best finishes this season with 2 top 5s and a 7th saturday at dover. Honestly i just think jimmie got too old for the dark schemes. His last win was dover with a lighter blue white and neon colored scheme. The moment he went to black he just wasnt the same

When I was 12 and visiting Charlotte, my parents bought me a piece of the Silver car from the Glen at the Hendrick shop! Watkins Glen has always been one of my favorite tracks, and it was my first piece of metal, so that piece was awesome!!

Why Lowes went to a dying sport in the form of NFL is beyond me, but they'll reap what they sow soon enough. Also, as a late 90s kid there are way too many names I grew up following retiring. Craig Lowndes, Jimmie, Pedrosa, Junior. Going to have to find a new driver to follow next year in NASCAR which unlike MotoGP, F1 and V8 Supercars will be a little bit harder. I'm a fan of the Penske drivers behind Jimmie so that's where it'll be I guess

3:37 Surefire victory? Although it was a surefire victory for one of them, the 8 car was just as likely as the 48 to win the race pictured. I personally believe the 48 was going to win that one, but we were cheated out of an amazing finish by the shit head Vickers that day. It also cost the 8 his shot at the championship that year. Edit: great vid by the way, loved the sarcasm... had me LMAO
