I agree! That is Jimmy Barnes' best song!...and he's done many of them. Massive production quality, massive voice, killer world class saxophone solo, incredible, genius hooks through the whole song !! Shocking a song like this never "made it" to the USA.

You should definitely check out > Too Much Ain’t Enough Love ( the original music video ) by Jimmy. Such a great song and pretty much nobody has reacted to it. It’s one of my favourites of his. Also you should check out another great Aussie Band called Mondo Rock > Come Said The Boy would be my suggestion but they have a lot of great songs. Love your channel 🇦🇺

This was a hit single for Jimmy but from the same "Two Fires" album, "Lay down your guns" was an even bigger hit. Two Fires was his fourth solo album with his fifth being the first foray into soul, "Soul Deep". Soul Deep is the album that gave us the duet with John Farnham, "When something is wrong with my baby". All five of these albums went to number 1 in Australia. Unfortunately he didn't do quite as well with the next three releases as they only made it to number 2.

Peak peak rock solo Jimmy before he mellowed and discovered soul and then did THAT brilliantly. The songs on that album were ridiculously structured - so complex musically and then he just nailed them. ‘Lay Down Your Guns’ is a song that has so much to it, so many layers, like no other song before or since, and it’s hard to think of anyone else touching it - but Jimmy just said ‘Hold my beer’…
