Before he was the 39th president of the United States, Jimmy Carter served as the governor of Georgia. During his time as governor, Jimmy Carter fought to desegregate the state and appointed an unprecedented number of African-Americans to political positions.

It was because of his strong commitment to plain human decency that he earned the support of African American leaders to serve as Georgia's Governor, then as US President. Plus, people felt a connection to his strong work ethic. He was a hard-working peanut farmer and he has worked hard for peace, better medicine, and better living conditions for many people. He and Rosalynn have earned our deep respect.

Wish he got a second term as POTUS. He could’ve done a little more to get his second term as POTUS. We need more leaders similarly to him😀
