Raoul Duke Because they love their music, it's fun for them, it's not a 9 to 5 job... and of course they don't do it for the $$$ like the majority of artists.
AimlessAbyss my dads about to turn 50 in December and one day he was cleaning out this box he had that was full of old event tickets he kept from sporting events and concerts and what not. He pulled out like 8 Metallica tickets from when he saw them in the Newsted days and I was like wtf dad, how many times have you seen them? Since they're going on tour early 2017, I'm gonna ask my dad if he wants to see them when they come around to Chicago
James is smiling so big in the beginning. It's like his inner kid is thinking, why didn't Sesame Street have us do this? I wanna rock with The Muppets too now! ❤️
I'm curious to know how you think this is at all close to "a capella". There are about a dozen instruments being played here. A capella is without instrumental accompaniment.
@rubemortenson1724 yes, I know..as you can hear, the instruments do not sound like a powerful orchestra. They are basic, so the voice is the most important component in the whole ensemble. I think it's pretty obvious what I mean, you just needed to be the smart ass that has to point out the exact definition so the professor knows he studied. 🤣🤣
Thank you, Jimmy Fallon. I take care of my wife , who has stage 4 breast cancer. I started watching this video, and I just couldn't stop smiling. I even started headbanging with you guys. You guys are awesome!
Oh gosh, I've been an elementary music teacher K-8 for 22 years, I simply love this. I have a couple of 7th graders that will love this, they rock, just like you guys!
juan gutierrez bleeding me, outlaw torn, the day that never comes, all the unforgivens, no leaf clover, etc. All examples of songs with incredible vocals
I got my son into black sabbath Ozzy among other rock/heavy metal bands when he was 8/9 years old. And he still listens to them to this day and he's 21 years old now. I taught my boy right that's all I can say kept them away from the country music oh can't forget gospel too
This is fun to watch! A bunch of guys goofing and having a blast and then you read the comments about how Metallica isn't what they were and this is sad and all. As if those guys have to be hard-core metal heads 24/7/365 all their lives. Grow up and just enjoy the fact that musicians you like are having fun.
I'm with you on that. Especially for serious, full-time musicians, the chance to just play around and have a few laughs while doing what you do and love best, its refreshing for them. Being serious all the time just burns them out.
Grow up and face the fact that Metallica is going out of its way to become even more mainstream than they already are. And pls, stop judging people that felt betrayed by an artist that used to stand for something completely different :)
I totally respect Metallica for this now. They just want to do what they want and have fun and not being too serious all the time. Just like what Rob Halford said. Just do what you want.
Are you kidding? Its the same as with those guns n roses fans that keep screaming for a reunion. The band grew up, and moved onto different things than what they did 20 years ago. Its not us that enjoy them doing this that need to grow up, its the fans that are still living 20 years in the past that need to grow up. Betrayed? Its their music, aren't they entitled to choose their own direction? As fans, you can either choose to support what they do or not, I understand that if you don't, but grow up and move onto something else if you don't like the direction they've gone in. It was 20 years ago. If you kept doing the same thing day in and day out for 20 years, you would hate what you do too. If you don't like being judged, don't go judging the damned band.
i think just from hearing him with that "drum" in the vid u can tell he really sounds like someone who has not a lot of rythmic feeling and is sometimes a little off beat. Not saying he should be hated for it but critisized for sure. His drum fills on the actual drums are sometimes a little off beat as well and for my own taste it kills the vibe
Ethan Rummel They clearly love having fun. Before every concert, they say “We don’t give a fuck where you’re from, or what you look like, we just want to perform, and have a good time!” This is just one reason why I LOVE METALLICA! They make great music, and have fun doing it.
And I suppose you'd love to live in a world filled with vanilla, robot, conformist human zombies all shambling around liking/disliking the same thing, looking the same, pounding out the same widgets in a lifeless factory. Face it, humans are different, humans like DIFFERENT things. If you are butt hurt by the fact that people are individuals then you must be the most hardcore communist/socialist EVER.
Kirk-Where's my guitar? No problem, I can do it with this Robert-I can't crabwalk, no problem, I can replace it with smiling James-This is our gig, and a gig should be done seriously Lars-This is actually fun Jimmy-Yes, I am playing with freaking Metallica
Let's go back to you in 1991. If you were able to able to see 25 years into the future and see this video, what would you think? I think this is cool watching now, but not so sure then.
Slimy the upopular gamer - Master! Master! Were's the dreams that I've been after? Master! Master! Promised only lies! Laughter! Laughter! All I hear is (I don't know what words he screams) laughter! Laughter! Laughter! Laughing at my cry! Oooooh-Yeah! (Epic solo). I'm sorry
I love this way too much! You can't go wrong, they only improve with time....(not AGE, or being old, it's joy and real devotion shining through)...the level of their coolness just multiplies....
bill smith so you spent 3 years writing songs? Ironic really.. whos attacking whom... not sure. I think youre making fun of Lars Ulrich in a way that isnt ironic nor satirical nor playful in nature. Hes making a statement that Lars sucks at drums and Im making a statement that his humor, (“his”), is a rather bad one and just because I used coarse language my statement is taken as an attack. 👌 boi
This is one of his nice segments. Should be shown to children in school to see how they can enjoy themselves with music who knows they might develop a musician or two
teresaplace Yeah and twice the guitarist than both James and Kirk. At least Dave doesn't depend on a cry baby pedal. Remember who wrote Metallicas vest material. Ps. Dystopia kicks the living shit out of every steaming pile of shit excuse for album Metallica has produced since 87.
i'm just a three week-old fetus, but no one i know listens to this stuff! ;( ugh, i wish my generation would listen to real, hardcore music like this !!1! (this rendition's a little too heavy for me though).
