I don't blame Jimmy so much for throwing that last pick. They were in desperation mode and Jimmy had to play outside his comfort zone. Most of his game in the SB was not that bad. The problem with Jimmy is that when the game requires him to make long passes, rather than relying on RAC by his receivers he is incapable of doing so. Except for blown coverages when his receiver was so wide open they could wait or return for passes thrown too short, he never completed any long passes that required him to hit his man in stride. Every QB misses receivers sometimes. The problem in the SB was that Jimmy is not capable of hitting those passes consistently enough. That is a shortcoming that bit them in that big game. Teams have also caught on to his reliance on just the middle of the field. That is why they spent 3 first-rounders to draft Lance.
I remember stressing, pacing, screaming, crying and cussing throughout the entirety of that Saints game. But when Kittle caught that 4th & 2 pass I just stood there with my hands on my knees, silent with my eyes wide open and mouth on the floor. Totally speechless. Fan-fucking-tastic finish.
One defender wrapped around his waist... another draped over his back like a cape... a third doing freakin' chin-ups off of his face mask... And Kittle's like, "Okay! Time for a Nantucket sleigh ride, b*tches!"
That comeback against the Rams, with 2 consecutive 3rd and 16 big clutch completions, the 2nd one a deep 51 yard bomb from Jimmy - just amazing. And people say he has no arm, he can't throw deep. He had an even deeper one in the Wk14 Saints game. He's got an arm. He just can't throw deep all day long, and Shanahan likes to keep his arm fresh for the 4th quarter.
And he threw a 50+ yarder in the air earlier in the season to Deebo in the Bears game. The 75 yard bomb TD to Emmanuel Sanders in the Saints game had Jimmy heaving it 57 yards in the air and almost overthrew Sanders, who had to stagger backwards, catching it falling backwards before getting back up to run it into the EZ. That's at least three 50+ yarders in the air thrown by Jimmy in 2019. In 2021 he LED the league in Cmpl% for passes 40+ yards. I don't want to hear that Jimmy can only dink it 5 yards and has no arm to throw beyond that.
I've been a die hard foreign fan of the 49ers since 2010. This was the best season I experienced. It hurt deeply when we lost another SB. Still hurts. But videos like this remind me of my love for the team and how much fun we had in 2019. I truly love the 49ers. Deeply, madly. Those are my boyz!
My favorite one of the 4 that were shown here was the one against the Rams. Jimmy and Co. put together TWO fantastic drives back-to-back, and of course you have the two 3rd and 16 conversions on that game-winning drive... What a game that was!
That first 3rd and 16 conversion was my favorite. The way Bourne caught the pass, got up and spun that ball while walking forward menacingly and flexing. Such swagger and perfect timing for it!!! Props to the cameraman who recorded that entire sequence at the perfect angle.
I'm from Mexico City and forever 49rs, Garopolo, please, you have much more to give! I believe in you and in continuing to improve for this new 2022 season. I am 52 and since I was 11 years old it has been my lifelong team and it is safe!!!!!
I would sincerely like to thank Jimmie for his time with the Niners. Great quarterback, and an even greater person. I wish you nothing but success in your journey in the NFL. We'll miss you.
@@josemexable I think that if Jimmy can prove himself then he’s staying and starting. So far, I think he’s shown himself worthy. I love his determination and perseverance. He doesn’t have to be the best, he just has to be able to get them somewhere.
@@BigPGB the problem is that hes only played 1 full season and the majority of this season since they traded for him in 2017 so hes very injury prone. but I agree with you that he doesnt have to be the best but he needs to not turn the ball over so much. idc how good an nfl team is because if you have alot of turnovers in the nfl its going to be very difficult to win.
Jimmy G is decent but he isn’t mobile and he doesn’t have that deep threat accuracy… he has a lot of work to do honestly he’s surrounded by talent… that also saves his ass
nope. everything will start on time. Corona hoax with all its faulty numbers and mass hysteria over something proven in recent studies in caly that the death rate is less than .1%. Flu range.
Jesse Thompson he just needs to stay calm under pressure more. He has rushed or forced passes a lot when it matters most and it leads to blocks or overthrows
Everyone forgets that Jimmy hasn't started many games compare to most successful QBS. This was his first full season and coming off an ACL injury at that. His best days are ahead of him and I wouldn't trade him for no one else.
I don't believe he will ever see all that $ but remember what I wrote his best years are ahead of him and has lots of football still to play and he will have a few super bowl wins with the 49ers when it's all said and done. And I don't know what playoff games you were watching but for his first year starting a full season still learning the offensive which is said to be one of the most difficult to grasp and first playoff run and led his team to the super bowl and yes he led them there along with a great team backing him up. He did an excellent job...
The Everything Channel not really, Jimmy G still has many years to play and learn football. At his first full season at starting coming off an ACL injury leading the niners to the SB while having a lot of potential to still unlock. The Niners as a whole have a lot of potential to unlock and master their schemes for years to come
Jimmy G has proven to be extremely clutch; last week a prime example!! His interceptions usually come under pressure or deflections unfortunately but the man is a talented, clutch leader
Fax, I think shanahans play calling with all the short passes doesn’t give him enough deep passes so when he does need to throw one he isn’t confident since he rarely throws them.
@Chan Kamcellor wtf are you talking about? I never said the run game and defense didn't carry the team, in fact I said that the run game gets all the attention. So pull your head out of your ass and tell me where I was incorrect?
@Chan Kamcellor oh Jesus. Lmfao I never said anything about the run game not deserving attention. They were #2 in overall rushing in the league. Less than10 plays against gb in the Nfc championship speaks for itself. I think it was 2 pass plays in the 2nd half. And sf's defense speaks for itself. Doesn't need anyone mentioning them. They do their job extremely well.
Idc what people say, Jimmy G didn’t lose the SB for SF, it was lack of execution and a poor defensive performance in the 4th. People need to shut up about Jimmy G, he led the Niners to the SB in his first full season
Hes not a bad quarterback at all but he had a wide open throw in the superbowl and it wasnt the defenses fault if ur playing mahomes hes just too explosive
I remember watching him play in the senior bowl game back in 2014... dude was on a different level compared to the other quarterbacks I watched in that game. From that point I knew he would be a special quarterback. So much talent I hope he has a great career.
Jimmy is awesome and he already has a better career than 90 % of all the Qbs to ever play the game. We got to the SB and honestly before the season most of the 9ers faithful would have taken a wild card play off
Yea bro that’s why it’s gonna suck wen we trade him or even cut him. He has a heart of gold! I was pulling for him to evolve to the next level but he served his purpose and I wish him nun but the best in his next chapter🙏
If you're coming here in 2023, you know that Brock Purdy is the real deal and he's the future of the franchise. But man, these Jimmy G games in 2019 were FUN. And it'll never get old coming back and reliving some of those memories of that season and that Super Bowl run.
The 49ers had 5 defensive starters injured in that game against New Orleans, Jimmy G still won a shootout with Drew Brees. Some of these comebacks had injuries to the Offense as well. Kittle and Juice were out for a little.
Arnav Mathur oh here we go again, salty the niners choked and couldn’t call a good play to save their life?, it shows how much the niners rely on their defense and once that defense was exposed by mahomes their whole game fell apart
Guess why they gave up those TD’s? Because Jimmy G kept going 3 and out. I’m a 49ers fan, but that SB lost was completely on Jimmy G. The defense held Mahomes to 10 points with 6 minutes left! We just needed 1 more TD and jimmy couldn’t do it. Simple.
I think we should have came into that game running like we did all season i really didn't understand why kyle kept throwing it with jimmy should have ran much more
@@ascend2208 then blame it on kyle for not running, all jimmy could do was pass it when the game was over they should have ran, and the defense doesnt get tired that fast, they let them score that much in just a few minutes..grow up it wasnt all on the qb
@@andrewwhite1585 you grow up. Jimmy 100% lost them the game! Has any defense held Mahomes to only 10 points with 6 minutes left in that season? No, probably not! Jimmy needed 1 drive. But nope, he couldn’t do it. Sure, Kyle did receive blame for his terrible time management. But the 4th quarter was all Jimmy.
This PROVES that Jimmy didn't rely on just his running backs and Niner defense. He is the reason the Niners made the playoffs. And while he didn't have a perfect game in the SB he played good enough to win since he got his team a 10 pt lead going into the 4th quarter. Their elite defense should've held on to their lead especially when there was like only 6 mins left in the game.
@@youngchristopher14 i agree with that. Im a jimmy fan and a realist he def needs to get better...but this video shows hes much better and much more clutch than all these media guys give him credit for they act like hes complete garbage and that just isnt the case. Last year was his first full season starting and hes started under 30 games in his entire career. Thats less than baker mayfield for comparisons sake. Ppl jumpin the gun on gettin rid of Jimmy.
U can tell that in the 4th quarter in the Super Bowl that Jimmy G didn’t seem like himself, for example when he overthrew Emmanuel Sanders when he was open and would’ve caught it. Jimmy was sacked and hit helmet to helmet to and the refs didn’t call it but I’m pretty sure he may have been concussed and that’s why he wasn’t like himself
ACE Rage he want himself because the moment was too big! Stop crying about penalties and ticky tack stuff. The good ones let it effect them... the elite overcome it!
You can’t expect the defense to hold up all game tho, they did their part for three quarters straight. The refs missed bad calls but at the end of the day it’s all execution. We’lol be back better is all good tho
He was having his best season yet last year, just struggled with injuries. If he can stay healthy which seems unlike unfortunately, that's likely a top five offense the Raiders will have
My favorite thing about jimmy is his quick memory.... I don’t remember exactly but he had what??? 2 picks and a fumble in that Steeler game and came back to lead a game winning drive. Call him whatever y’all want, I’m glad he’s my quarterback
Forget the football player, the real hero is the guy that edited this video. I am impressed, you actually stretched Jimmy G highlights over 39 plus minutes...thats the real magic here...
Not sure where the Jimmy G h8te is coming from. He wins a lot of games and gets his team deep into the playoffs. Contrast with Dak and Lamar who have one career playoff win each.
@Victor Rojas I can't tell you how happy I am to see your comment. I swear, basically 9 out of 10 people disrespect Jimmy G so much. It's ridiculous. The most important thing is that Kyle, Lynch and the entire team have his back. If Jimmy and the team can stay healthy next year, I think they will at least make the superbowl again.
I don't want to give up on Jimmy yet, even if we draft some hot shot rookie QB. He just wins. He's had some bad luck with injuries, but I wouldn't call him soft. He was hobbling around on one leg during the Jets game and scored enough TD's to win it in the first half. It's not as if he was the only one with a high ankle sprain or major injuries last year. People just are extra hard on him because he gets paid what he does and he's the franchise QB. Go get em in 2021 Jimmy, I'll be rooting for you all the way at Levi's.
JimmyG is a very underrated QB. I get the arguments for the mistakes he has made but the dude is just a baller and doesn't do much except for win. Also, show me a better leader in the NFL. I'm sure there could be a few comparisons which I wouldn't argue, but nobody could dispute my position either. If you ask almost any team if they would take a QB who would win about 70% of the time and get their team to a Super Bowl all but about five or six teams would replace their current QB with those stats. I'd love to see JimmyG sign an extension with the 49ers but we all know that is not going to happen. So far my dream playoff has happened although only 1/4 the way done so a long way to go all on the road. Going for the rivalry playoff scenario. Cowboys, Packers, Rams, Cincinnati. Although JimmyG vs Brady and Holmes would work as well. Lots of variables in there, but how awesome would that be? No matter how the rest of the season plays out I really hope JimmyG has a chance to go to a contender (I think the 49ers will do their best to get him to an AFC contender. They owe him that much) and get at least a 1st and 3rd round pick for him (heck, win the SB and get two first rounders?). That might seem like a lot to some but the guy does nothing except win. Dude came to SF and changed the narrative of the team and got them back on their winning ways we all love to see. Next year is a bad QB draft with few potential free agents and somebody will pay it. Let's just pray that Lance can step up. Adios and go Niners!
This season is why I have heart issues now...... They couldn't just lose or win, they had to stress us 9er fans by keeping so many games so close in the final minutes.
People forget how close that game against Pittsburgh was. That was the home opener and Jimmy had to come up clutch in the final minutes to win that game.
@Emilio Coldblooded Bronson Me too! It was pretty exciting to see all the Niners and Pittsburgh fans in the parking lot. Looked like a battlefield with all the tents, flags and smoke from the grill. Pittsburgh actually ended up going 8-8, and they still had Conner, Juju and a quality defense. Could have easily lost that game and probably would have the year before.
Aloha 49ers for life thank you so much for showing some great games of the 49ers bring back some good memories OK thank you so much stay safe from Honolulu Hawaii Stanley Bam Bam Niner gang
The thing about Jimmy is that he give his teammates a chance to shine. He realizes his limitations but he's a good leader and will make a team shine. Good luck.
jimmy, you are a HUGE inspiration for me, but likely, i am a dj now, but i was 9/10 close to becoming a 49er player, i might still become one because of u!!!
Full time SF fan since 1994, if u want us to keep a winning record u have to admit Jimmy helps us insanely. I have faith in Lance eventually being a break out star as well, but 2 drag Jimmy down is absurd
leffty2gunnz he sucks under pressure man he overthrew Samuel I think but he’s solid especially with that run heavy offense and George kittle who reminded me of Gronk in the saints game
51 yard pass from Jimmy. Two weeks earlier he threw an even longer (57?) yard bomb to Sanders for a 75 yard TD in the Saints game. Some "fans" say Jimmy has no arm, can't throw past 10 yards. I just shake my head.
I was driving (OTR) from Louisiana during the Saints game. I was watching it while driving it was that good. He'll uva game. Perfect end to my trip back home to Cali.
