Kate Bush is such a beautiful vocalist, and I always thought she never got recognition equal to the magnificence of her music. The series Stranger Things brought me around, again, to listen to this song. It's haunting. Moving. Vulnerable. It stirs the deepest places in me. Many of her songs do that. I decided to see if there was anyone out there that has done a cover of this song that matches the astounding loveliness of her version. After watching a few female covers, they just didn't work for me. So, I decided to try a male vocal cover. I have to say that you guys come damn close. And, while it does not evoke the depth of response from the core of my being, it does reach into me, and is still a magnificent cover, worthy of high praise. The lead singer carries a certain vulnerability. Perhaps a bit unsure in his capabilities to do the song it's due justice, but he pulled it off. There is a certain innocence in unsureness that brings to bare such power, and gentle strength in the doing of something in spite of uncertainty. It is not contrived. It just is. A living simplicity. Vulnerability in and of itself is beautiful, and it serves this song well. You do that here. And, the band. This song both in it's vocals, and it's music just doesn't work if the cadence is unlike the original. The cadence carries it, perfectly. Like a thing meant to be. All of you nailed it. I just want to say this is beautifully done. Thank you.
Outstanding, especially the strength of the emotions of the lyrics as conveyed by the singer!! And, the choice of instruments and timing of their integration is superb!! No doubt the best cover I’ve heard for Kate Bush’s brilliant song!!👍❤️👍
Is now a good time to tell you i think im addicted to this song & this cover gives me goose bumps! & im not putting it down my kidney infection! Sweet dreams 😘😘😘
I like this song, and your interpretation is just magic!!! It must no be simple to live, every day, with your particularity, ... But, it make your force of persuasion! You are a very good singer, and a beautiful man too! Kind regards from 🇧🇪
Doesn’t really care for the original version of this number, but Jimmy Jørgensen really pullet it of, where at a very small concert whit him in Ballerup, Baltoppen some years back he played this number, where I felt in love whit his version he really gave it life ❤️
I have listened to, I guess, every version of this song on youtube. I keep coming back here. For me it's the best version of "Running up that hill". Not only the covers, this is even better than Kate Bush's original. (Don't get me wrong, I like Kate Bushes work.) The mood and the arrangement is so brilliant. But next time, please, have the video editor cut the bass closeups in a way I believe the guy really played the song.
For those who search the autentic version that seen in Warehouse 13, looks: Track And Field - Running Up That Hill [Warehouse 13 S03E11 Finale], an aportation of DannyRodd88
Nice. Certainly one of the better covers out there. Also interesting to see this was made back in 2010, long before the fad sparked by Stranger Things. Good to see that people recognised this gem before pop culture dug it back up. Not that I object to Stranger Things bringing back this song, in fact I applaud it. My only qualm is that none of the other fantastic songs in Kate Bush's huge repertoire have likewise been revisited. She's got many more amazing songs people! Get covering! Expose these youngsters to the full panoply of her brilliance!
