Listening to Jimmy's voice will send shivers up your back and make it hard to see through the water filling your eyes. Maybe we all should do like him and be at our own wake. If you don't know that story then check out Otis Gibbs channel where Gretchen tells stories of her good friend Jimmy Lafave. Made me cry so beware she tells them and you'll spend the rest of the day looking up videos of him.

I love the way Jimmy took a song and slowed it to his own tempo. There was time between the notes and measures, time to contemplate time and just be. And in his originals, many there were; it was no less of a ponderance of time and reality in his voice, cadence and conviction.

thank you SO MUCH for sharing this...I was praying this would show up.... that cover of Lonesome When You Go is beyond words ...especially in light of what he was going thru.
