Eisen had Jomboy on a couple of years ago, DP has both the fellas on this year. Big things for a couple of gents that truly deserve their success and never let the spotlight get too bright or hot. Rare to see such genuine people in this field. If anyone reading this has not checked out their channels, I can't recommend it enough. From "Things You Missed, That Never Planned On Seeing" (Sundays, featuring sports/events that never get coverage) to my personal favorite, "The Weekly Dumb" (Tuesdays, a humorous weekly sports/news wrap-up show with some of the best editing on RU-vid 😉shoutout to Zack) and allll the baseball (plus warehouse games: wiffle ball, hand ball, hockey, etc) in between... there is SOMEthing for everyone.
Dan Patrick (along with Rich Eisen, if you know who that is) used to be an anchor on SportsCenter back in the 90’s when it ruled the sports world. That’s why Jake made the “we’re family” reference because he grew up watching Dan Patrick every night. Now Dan has his own sports podcast like everybody else .
I've watched their content for quite a while, and while they do produce some good content, none of it is really great. I think that they'd do well w/ a better eye toward detail, and for a 50-person company, their production value should be multiple levels above where it currently resides. I think that they could do so much more w/ what they have, but they seem content to focus on quantity over quality.
The best thing about Jomboy and the crew is that I never have to worry about turning on any of their shows and getting lectured to. It does truly feel like a fan-driven network. And the Warehouse Games might be the best the best follow in all of sports.
Jomboy is such a unique entity in sports media / entertainment on its own island. Older sports fans who need the stodgy, traditional structure of seasoned beat reporters talking down from an elevated platform, using the all the same cliches and idioms of the past will struggle to wrap their head around exactly what it is, what they do and what the apppeal is of their more ‘sports adjacent’ stuff - but frankly I think that’s where they shine the brightest; warehouse games, breakdowns, weekly dumb, J&J TV, etc.
Jomboy Media is the absolute best baseball content on RU-vid. From the flagships of Talkin Baseball and Baseball Today down into the secondary content, its all great. Love the whole crew and been awesome to watch them grow!!
