Alex the crows hit the market running on all cylinders. First album dropped was shake your money maker which in my opinion challenged most any other bands first recording Secondly they released southern harmany which literaly was a life changer for me. Easily the best album in 90s decade in my mind. They literally took the industry by its balls. By way of top level song writing played refreshingly in a brand new sound by top level musicians and fronted by an obvious rock star seemingly built for task. If your not familiar with "my morning song" its jawdropping!!! It's on southern harmony and a must listen.

Just watched an Oxford Union interview w/Conan from 2/2020, and he mentioned the materbating bear. Hilarious the character was culled into conversation. I was a waiter at John's (Pizzeria) of Bleeker Street in 1995, served Conan like he was any other schlep. As he was standing up from the tight-fitting wood booth, I humbly asked him if it was difficult to get tickets to see his show. He replied, "Naw, it's easy!" Digging into his wallet, "Here's my assistant's card, give her a call and inform her what day you'd like to attend." He was just as regular as any regular guy and gracious like no celeb. Watching this episode, I so miss those days and Conan's show; it just seemed like it'd last forever. I know Conan is doing different things now, and I've lost touch with his career/comedy, but WOW, I MISS THESE TIMES SO MUCH.

Jimmy was playing so well in the late 90s and early 2000s . For that short period of time he was playing his best guitar post 73 and was far better than anything he was playing on the last few zep tours . He was having such a resurgence through this period and getting sober definently played a huge role and seemed like he was actually practicing but then just as quick as the jimmy of old reappeared he disappeared completely . He really good have reinvented himself and had an impressive solo career . None of those sour bends and out of key notes that marred his playing for so many years and was really overcoming the loss of fluidity .

I don't think he ruined it. He didn't try to be Robert Plant. He sang like himself.

No one said he "ruined it" Jim, only that Robert Plant is better. MUCH better.

Somehow @ 1:00 it totally became The Crowes. I devoured all of this when it first came out, but am now realizing how unique the BC sound is. While digesting all of this when it came out, I recalled hanging with the Crowes briefly in Atlanta, remembered how Chris and Rich were so cool and laid back. What was it?... Mr. Crowes Garden or something like that. They were in Marietta- then to little 5 Points. Love those late 80's. They still fucking rock, been though a lot (who hasn't)

Jimmy’s using the B-bender on his guitar to create those lap slide guitar, crying effects. Very tastefully done.

Unfortunately, I never got to see LZ live; had tickets for the Pittsburgh show on their 1977 tour, but that's the year Plant's son died and it was cancelled. But I did get to see Page with The Black Crowes, with Kenny Wayne Shepherd opening. What a concert. It was mostly LZ songs, some The Firm stuff and a couple songs from The Yardbirds and TBC. Decent consolation for not seeing LZ. Edit: I am so used to Your Time Is Gonna Come segueing right into Black Mountain Side that it's ALMOST a disappointment that didn't happen here.

I've watched the Jones Beach show here on RU-vid a few times and I can't get over how good it is... I saw Jimmy and Robert in 1998 on they last Page/Plant tour, and even at 17 years old I knew it was incredibly special. The late 70's and the 80's were pretty tough for Jimmy but by the mid 90's he had stopped drinking, he was in shape, and his playing was better than it had been since the late 70's.

@@JU5TINPDX Jones beach amphitheatre is the ultimate place to see a show,I have lived here most of my life, that was a blast, they played for four hours, starting in the daytime , Jimmy was on fire, one of his best shows since led zep

@@davidwilliams2676 Even though I haven’t been to Jones Beach myself, I’ve read “The Power Broker” About Robert Moses… and I feel like I know the place. Moses was meticulous about every aspect of the project, down to the tiniest details. I would recommend the book to anyone interested in history, and NY history in particular, but especially to someone from the Wantagh area. Robert Moses was probably the most influential American that most people have never heard of… but his impact was MASSIVE, and not just for New York, but the entire country. Anyway, I could go on forever on this subject, and also Zeppelin/Jimmy Page… but I won’t ;) cheers!
