But it takes one hell of a strong women to put a target on our back and face this world with so many people looking at us like we're freaks and lumping us in with pedophiles
She is not 100% woman. She is a man who has had a surgery to be sort-of like a woman. She is trying to outshine actual women while having a male ego, male authority and male power in a woman's body. She is a hypocrite. Watch her collapse after all the attention on the exotic dies out. She tries to be more glamorous than real women...as if her thinness and her make up makes her real woman. How do men fall for this? Is it that these men are so stupid that, because of her make up and her clothes and pretentious demure look, they think they are in a real vagina. She is a pretense. Now give more respect and attention to the real woman with all feelings and true beauty from birth. People like you are part of why. Why's her face so shiny and greasy in the interview? It's a shame she's so little-known in the US. I didn't hear of her until I saw her 2005 memoir recently. The West doesn't tend to acknowledge progressive Chinese people, like this trans dancer. She wrote in her memoir that Western countries required 2 years of counseling and a period of living in the desired gender before a sex change operation. (Not sure which countries, never heard of that in the US.) But all she had to do in China was answer a long questionnaire before getting her surgery. The video doesn't mention that she was born to Korean parents. I find it interesting that she's just known as, and identifies as, Chinese. The ethnic Korean is not emphasized or was never a thing. I think it's nice that China considers all its citizens rightfully Chinese, regardless of their ethnic roots. America still doesn't consider its US-born Asians rightfully and totally American.
She does not have any makeup or much skincare on, also when she's dancing or at home, the environment can be rather hot & dry that is why it got more shiny & oily. It's her style of being open/natural during interview
completely agree on your 2nd paragraph. I always felt that China has done a much better job in terms of racial equality and inclusion. Ideally only when you don't pay attention to racial difference, then you can achieve the REAL equality. It's not something as shallow as being "sensitive" or "politically correct".
She is just Chinese ,not korea,but they can speak korea language,because live close to Korea border.Chinese is an identity inside .There 56 ethical groups in China.
She has never "changed". She was born "male". It was many years before as a "male", she fitted the binary definition of a "man". She has only made the decision to recognise the femme that is inherently as much a part of who she is as is the colour of her hair, the shape of her eyes, the power of her mind. May she long continue to influence the world to the reality that we are all of us, human: that gender is much more than the binary social construct most societies prefer to hold to.
Honestly I feel woman can be as strong as male dancers ...they just have to be raised with lots of males giving her a tougher mindset and mentality...this is where true strength comes from... Scottish women are very strong...stronger than most men ... Because they have inner strength...
I honestly feel that I should have been a boy all my life.....I know how it feels to be in the wrong body... I grew up under two brothers and boy cousins and all their male friends..... I never fit in with other girls, never found them fun or interesting or enjoyed their company.... But I don't think it's necessary to change ur sex in order to be happy or express urself authentically ..... Both sexes have their pros and cons....
I'm not trying to attack in any way, I am just curious. For a lot of us being a transgender women and the sex reassignment surgery go hand in hand. I know myself personally I don't feel I'll ever be fully physically a women with my male genitalia between my legs. Just curious why you love trans women but not the surgery. I am going to say something critical, but thought provoking. It is unfortunate that a man who transforms into a woman gets far more importance and attention, like an exotica, while real women, with far more talent than Jin, have no attention and have sexism following them everywhere. It is also amusing how when these men become women they tend to go for the glamour- girl look or performance woman look or stage girl look . They actually reinforce gender stereotypes, as Mr/Ms Jin does. He/She actually preaches culture and traditional roles to other real men and women when she herself has broken the norms in the most radical ways, with a foreign husband who is actually screwing a man pretending to be an elegant woman. These transgender men still have male egos while surgically altering their bodies and adding make up and feminine clothes to look like a femle, but play both sides for their benefit and privilege. Ms Jin also plays Chinese traditionalism to her advantage while being a hard core Western capitalists. That's hypocritical. And whatever makeup Ms Jin wears...she is not a real woman and never will be. Now give real women some attention.
Meera Srinivasan Your TERFy ideology is both extremely ugly and generally and rightly regarded as petty and useless to the progress of real feminism. Being the last hateful holdout sticking out like a sore thumb among the feminism of the 21st century will never get you recognition as the right and proper advocate for "real" women that you think you are, and it certainly won't do anything to help women and girls to have a better chance at a more equal standing in a less oppressive society. It will just make you look like a hateful anacrhonism with an obsession with genitalia yelling at the walls in an ever shrinking echo chamber.
She was already famous and successful before the surgery. It's true that she will probably get more attention from people just out of curiosity, she probably faces more discrimination compared to the average person just because of being different too. She is a real woman and how she chooses to dress and think about the world is her own business. Lastly, there is no conflict between Chinese traditions and capitalism.
