I just got mine a couple of days ago. I really like that nib. I have the X159 and rwo 9019s but no heartbeat nib. This nib much better than my other #8s. I don't care about the red star. The Hongdian 100 had a red star at first. Mine has a white star. I think there were complaints. I have the Hongdian Qin Dynasty too. This year is the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist party. All of these pens were made to celebrate events relating to that. I really don't care. To me, they're just great designs. I looked up historical events in 1935 China. There was a 6,000 mile march of the Communists from South Eastern to North Western China. I believe that is what this pen specifically commemorates.

The converter isn’t friction fit, it’s threaded. That’s more secure. I really like this pen, especially for the price. The nib I’d very smooth, wet, and firm. The section is comfortable to grip, enough narrower than the 9019’s to be a more comfortable fit. The pen has a good, balanced feel, with a good heft. I haven’t had any issues with drying out: the cap liner seals in the nib in. I always flush new pens with water, then pen flush solution, then water. I found that, as with their 9019s, Jinhao tests it with blue ink.

Indeed, it is a screw in converter. Sorry

Hongdian does a pretty good job of giving us information on a pen design and inspiration. Too bad Jinhao didn't give us the details. I've read some comments about it, but even there; there is discrepancy. Anyway, great review.

Yeah, I thought I'd just stick to the pen. Thank you!

The name “TianDao”: “Tian” (天) stands for “heaven” “Dao” (刀) stands for “saber/sword/knife” This gives rise to the “heavenly sword” or “sword of heaven”. Here I have to vehemently disagree with your interpretation, in which you translate "TianDao" as "Way to Heaven". "Dao" in your interpretation would be "道" for "way" or "road" in Chinese. In complete contrast to this Dao "刀", which (as described above) stands for "saber/sword/knife". Let's put it this way: Both interpretations would be quite plausible, but given the nib with the 2 crossed sabers (Shuāng dāo / 双刀 = double sword/butterfly sword), only the "sword of heaven" actually makes sense. If you had wanted to say "Way to Heaven" with it, you would definitely have used the form "Tian Tao", as in "Tao te Ching" (Teaching of Taoism = The Teaching of the Way) or as in "Tao of Jeet Kun Do" (Bruce Lee's book about the Way of Jeet Kun Do) The Chinese "Dao" (道) for "way" is hardly used in everyday language these days, at most in some dialects such as Cantonese. That's how I presented it in my video (only in German) - and documented it. Best regards

Thanks for the info. Just worth mentioning that I didn't translate it - Google did 😂

@@SantiagoPens1759 I already thought that it was a Google translation. But there is the option to click directly on the already translated text and alternative translations are offered. However, it is very difficult to machine translate correctly in Chinese, as Google only uses Mandarin and not the associated most important dialects such as the Canton dialect, Meixian dialect and Xiamen dialect, which are often very important.

@steamdevilspenpit I'm pretty sure it's called 天道 because that's literally what they call it in their official Chinese store. "The way of the Heavens" kinda meaning. I'm sure "Divine Blade" would be a cool name and I appreciate your attempt at cooking, but you cooked the wrong meal lol
